June 29, 201213 yr QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 12:15 PM) Maybe Crain back to the DL? Good call. I had forgotten about that.
June 29, 201213 yr If true, in Omo's last 21.2 innings, he's given up 15 hits, and a 29/1 K/BB ratio. Edited June 29, 201213 yr by maggsmaggs
June 29, 201213 yr For what it's worth: Joe Boyer @JoeBullBoyer Congrats to Blackhawk grad, Brian Omogrosso. June 29, 201213 yr Either (A) Crain is going on DL or (B) Humber will be back to take what would be Axelrod's next start, so they are just getting an extra reliever for 4 games since neither Humber nor Axelrod can pitch during that time.
June 29, 201213 yr QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 12:32 PM) Either (A) Crain is going on DL or (B) Humber will be back to take what would be Axelrod's next start, so they are just getting an extra reliever for 4 games since neither Humber nor Axelrod can pitch during that time. I think Crain is going on the DL.
June 29, 201213 yr This is unconfirmed at this point. I see no mention of it other than those twitter messages listed here. Crain could be the issue though. Soreness, but got a doc to clear him last night to play. Sox might want to be careful though with him Edited June 29, 201213 yr by elrockinMT
June 29, 201213 yr I think Crain is going on the DL. And if that's the case, then why aren't they calling up Dan Johnson?
June 29, 201213 yr QUOTE (Tdog32 @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 10:10 AM) Good luck Brian! -B Warn Very cool; I assume they are sending Axelrod down.
June 29, 201213 yr QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 12:44 PM) Very cool; I assume they are sending Axelrod down. I assume Axelrod is starting Wednesday. Crain to the DL likely.
June 29, 201213 yr Hypothetically if Crain hits the DL, this is the current white sox pitching staff: Reed ® Santiago ® OmoGrosso ® Jones ® Thornton Bruney Septimo ® That's 5 in the bullpen with the ®, and the rotation Sale (not a qualified R any more but first year as a starter) Axelrod ® Quintana ® Floyd Peavy 7 rookies out of a 12 man pitching staff, and then Sale thrown in for good measure.
June 29, 201213 yr Without taking time to look it up and crunch all the numbers, it looks as though Peavy and Floyd may have more career IP than the other 10 combined.
June 29, 201213 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 01:05 PM) Brian Bruney to the DL w/ left hip inflammation Twist! Ok then....
June 29, 201213 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 12:06 PM) Twist! Ok then.... lol I don't even know how to react
June 29, 201213 yr Blessing in disguise. We know Bruney is not a Major League-caliber pitcher from his past. Maybe Omogrosso is. He has been dealing in AAA and perhaps, most importantly, has great stuff but doesn't walk batter.

June 29, 201213 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 01:05 PM) Brian Bruney to the DL w/ left hip inflammation That explains why Ohman went the second inning against the Twins.
