QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 16, 2012 -> 07:30 PM) So if he gets released by Boston, do the Sox pick him back up to replace Hudson? I hope so

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 16, 2012 -> 08:52 PM) Same thing happened to Brian Anderson. Waived by BOS. And to think, 6 months ago, he was the most inquired about member of our organization. How times changed so quickly for the Stealth Elf. I think part of the issue with Lilli, Escobar, et al, is Ventura's style of managing. He seems to stick with hjis set line up and the subs get little playing time. I am not criticizing here but in the grand scheme of things a fellow like Lilli is a super sub and can play probably 7 posiitons if asked. Hudson can play a couple infield positions. Hudson can't hit but has some speed. Lilli is having a down year with the bat but has speed and is a good fielder.

I would bring back Lilli in a heartbeat and DFA Hudson

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 16, 2012 -> 12:33 PM) I'm sure the wrist is bothering him. His power is null right now. I have to believe he stil has lingering effects on the wrist/hand injury. An almost 90 point drop in average is just too big otherwise

5 PM MDT for Thursday as MLB Network shows the game. Not sure who our starter is just yet.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 09:05 PM) This team plays great defense. One of the big reasons for our success this year IMO

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 04:26 PM) After than 459 foot homer? Yeah but he missed a pick off throw

Sale has given up 8 hits in 7 innings but what';s is impressive is the no walks. Gotta love this kid. He might be a keeper

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 08:06 PM) We are currently winning this game. Thanks for the clarification. I was beginning to wonder

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 08:00 PM) Why are the Sox hitters sitting on the fastball? Just a horrendous approach by the Sox today. Have we seen him before? That is always the excuse anyway
-
QUOTE (Sockin @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 08:00 PM) Castro pulled after 3 scoreless innings today. Might be starting on Wednesday. Fidel or Raul Castro? Maybe a relief pitcher down and a starter up but Floyd would have to go on DL and it doesn't seem that is the case
-
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 04:04 PM) They've pushed their starters this year, but that's the price they've had to pay to be in contention. Floyd just has a soreness in the elbow is all. But, we have some cocnerns with that and then adding Humber and Danks and Crain

Go get em Chris Sale

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 14, 2012 -> 11:39 PM) Nice one Marty, now go back to my posts. I had no problem with them getting Youkilis for nothing. When the rumors were Floyd or Thornton, I had a problem, and as great as Youkilis has been, its against the odds that he will be able to finish the rest of the season healthy and effective. Hopefully he does, but I've never seen a guy with so many downer posts and thread starters when the team expected to be pretty bad, is in first place. I wonder who will have a bad game tonight that will need to be replaced. After Saturday evenings bummer of agame I am guessing: Peavy, Konerko, Dunn and others such as our manager Robin Ventura.

Experience is what you get when you don't want it. But, with these rookies this is the way the learn. They do step up and not panic for the most part. If we get Crain back it should help but an experieced and effective vet closer might not hurt. Not saying I am just saying...

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 14, 2012 -> 07:13 AM) Great win. Great fireworks show. Some musings. ... I will say I was completely calm the whole game until Reed sucked. Man I wanted him to get the three-out save, instead of suck. I never thought Axelrod could do it, but he did. Two innings. Man he was good. Tank's three-run bomb. So huge. I was proud of Beckham for serving that hit into rightfield after having a fairly s***ty offensive game. And really happy Youk hit the sac fly to center after all those foul balls. He's still got it. I don't understand why Hudson was running so slow on the play he got thrown out at the plate. I hear it was a bad call at home, but he either got a late start or something cause it was pretty obvious he was a dead duck. Q did not pitch well. AJ is such a stud. Hits what could have been the game winning hit had it not hopped over the wall. And he was so mad at that s***ass home plate ump. He gave it to him during the game and after the final out. That ump SUCKED. Got pulled over by the cops for going 82 in a 70 on the way home and didn't get a ticket. So my luck held on dollar hot dog night. Good win. Sure glad you got to go the the game live and see a Sox win. It's always fun to read the posts from folks who get to go to a Sox game and then report to us far flung types

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 13, 2012 -> 10:00 PM) Guys, just going by my past experiences at Kauffman Stadium when going to see the Sox play. I have not had good luck. If my past is any indication tonight. ... Butler will probably hit at least one, maybe two bombs off Q and Chen shuts us down and we lose 7-1. Or ... Sox get off to a great start, lead 4-1 after 7 and Thornton is a huge goat. If we lose, bank on Butler having a big game and/or Thornton getting shelled. If I had to bet the house on it, I'd say the Royals hit Q pretty hard tonight and we're all figuring the All-Star break was not kind to Q. Prediction: KC in a laughter, 9-3 with our 3 coming late. Gregg my friend, the next time they have one of those major DEA precription drug take back programs I want you in the receiving line getting the chill pills and then run like heck!!! -

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 13, 2012 -> 04:22 PM) The thought of Bruce Chen dominating our lineup still haunts me. It can happen but as long as the offense scores one more run than the Royals we are fine -
Jhan Marinez recalled from Triple-A Charlotte.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 13, 2012 -> 06:11 PM) WTF, his numbers are pretty decent. How are we just producing pen arms? More spots in the pen then for starters. It must be a plan or something? -
