  1. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 09:52 PM) I agree, but look at what we're seeing. It's like the beginning of last year again. Dunn is struggling, Rios is struggling (although he looks better so far), the closer blew a save followed by a mega-meltdown of the bullpen, Danks has one bad inning and the offense can't answer... It's scary. I know how you feel. I was thinking the same thing especially with the 9th & 10th innig meltdown, but got to think posiitve
  2. Great idea to review the site at the ten year mark. I have been here since ewarly '03 and love it. I agree that there should be less infighting and folks should be more respectful.I know I don't know it all but I have to say others know less . But, I appreciate the offer to consider ideas and I will ponder that awhile
  3. We should be thinking of the long haul. Cn we compete all season long? You don't know that two weeks into the season. We lost three games in a row. OK,but we have 152 left. Let's give the struggling players a chance to turn it around
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 06:30 PM) I was a little concerned the other day when Dunn said he got all of the ball against Valverde, and the wind kept it in the park. In the old days, Dunn had enough power to hit it out of any park with any wind conditions. Yeah but it was real high and that wind was at maybe 35-40 MPH. It was beig blown all ove the place. Remember he hit two doubles in that game. He can still do it I am betting. I was as disappointed as anyone last yer in Dunn and Rios but they are here and I am convinced they are professional driven players wanting hard to suceed
  5. I think Jke Peavy can step up & show us he is in fact an ace. Let's turn this ship around boys!
  6. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 17, 2012 -> 12:42 PM) oh yeah? wow... you're really smart. you somehow knew a kid with a terrible major league track record would suddenly become useful. why aren't YOU running this team? I am sorry
  7. Sacks are packed with Sox with two out. Does Morel bat here?
  8. 2 called strikes on De Aza. I think you have to swing the bat
  9. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 03:42 AM) Pinch hit for Rios or go 1-2-3. Alex does have two hits tonight
  10. Very nice inning by Crain. Nw we have three guys up in Rios, Ramirez and Viciedo that have the potential to do something good. Let's rock n roll guys
  11. If Reed holds them in the top of the 9th we can still pull this one out OR I MEAN CRAIN
  12. Showalter playing the %s. Wonder what he does when AJ is up?
  13. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 03:29 AM) Hawk with his just missed it nonsense. I knew it!
  14. Well, at least he did hit the ball. Hawk is probabaly saying he was just under it
  15. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 03:24 AM) lol! lots of doom and gloom around here already. some players are playing some really, really s***ty baseball right now, but not all, not by a LONG stretch. Ref***inglax fellas. Boston is playing bad too. I agree we need to relax, but you expect something different than last season. Maybe it is just around the corner? I hope so
  16. Orioles bringing in a young lefty to probably face Dunn.
  17. Hardy Har Har with a soft grounder single to Morel. He must have been playing way back?
  18. Our pitching gives up the long ball and our offense can't deliver
  19. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Apr 17, 2012 -> 07:35 PM) As much as I like Gordon, he has no business stepping into a major league baseball batter's box this season. It's clear to even the average eye that he has little to no chance to make an impact as a hitter and the roster already has enough of those in this flacid lienup. What he does bring is impact defense, which is great but even stellar defense cannot make up for the automatic out. Not on this team. Not right now. The question becomes can he recover? It's clear that he needs to work on mechanics, approach, everything and that cannot happen on the MLB roster in MLB games. The answer is to send him down to AAA for a few months to right himself. He has the options and he needs this if there is any chance to salvage his career. However, I don't think this will happen anytime soon, if ever. It's just not very Sox-like to make a move like this and especially so early in the Ventura era. But this needs to happen soon, IMO. An EscoBridge platoon could serviceably handle the position and instantly improve the lineup. Beckham was called up too early in his development to begin with and my fear is that he's sent down to recover too late. I disagree. That is why they have a major league hitting coach and they go over things before games. We are just 8-9 games into the season and already throwing guys out the door
  20. Yep. John Danks needs to show us he IS the staff ace and stop this two game losing streak
