  1. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ May 25, 2011 -> 10:25 PM) I agree, let's trade Juan Pierre He might be the one
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 25, 2011 -> 10:24 PM) Would you bet your house the White Sox were going to come back and win the AL Central? I think not, even if you were more or a gambler than KW. You win, you have Anna Kournikova's or a Russian heiress' Florida mansion. Lose, and you're homeless. Take that bet? 20-25% odds of making it, well, maybe not "remote" but not close to good either. I ain't betting anything on any sports team. You think they will win because you are a fan of that team period. Winning is fun and losing is sad, but it ain't the end of the world. I believe this team can still compete for the division title.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 25, 2011 -> 10:14 PM) If we do get rid of Buehrle, either through mid-season trade or not re-signing him, the presence of Konerko does very little for me. They might as well just stick Viciedo out there and let him learn. (Rios, Dunn and Peavy all need to be ditched eventually as well, in that scenario). Because by the time the team is able to contend again, there's just no way Paulie could STILL be putting up the same numbers he's had for 8 months on a very consistent basis. They're going to take a huge PR hit anyway...fans are already hesistant to support this team, so they should just get it over all at one time instead of in "phases." Once again we talk of trading players who are producing for us. I understand the argument is to trade those who might bring in young talent, but then we have young talent-maybe not major league ready-and mesh them with the non-producers and we suck worse then we do now. Trade the non-producers, whoever they may be. I am not buying into the "free up money" stuff either. We might have a player or two (Viciedo for one) ready at the minor league level and you can trade a position player or two and bring him up plus maybe find a relief pitcher to help out. I don't know what the pieces are at this point as the guilty paerties seem to change from game to game, but I don't think Paul Konerko, Carlos Quentin or Buerhle are the problem
  4. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ May 25, 2011 -> 10:14 PM) Realistically who thought we'd be able to take 2 of 3 in Texas anyways? Usually we get swept. Toronto doesn't usually bode well for us either- if we can get through this road trip somehow around 4-5 I don't think it's time to throw in the towel just yet. We can always wait till the trade deadline when teams get more desperate to trade away the pieces at that point as well. But as stated there is a lot of baggage with a lot of our guys whether it be contracts or 10 and 5 guys that won't be easy to get rid of at a premium price. It's almost like we're all in...literally. We are in it to win it
  5. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 25, 2011 -> 10:13 PM) For the love of god Kenny, please! Don't overreact. Wait at least one more game/loss
  6. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ May 25, 2011 -> 08:53 PM) I am not 100% willing to chalk this up on Ozzie, but it's close. Let's just face it that Ozzie's decision making is amongst the worst in baseball. It even was in 2005, we just played over it, whether you want to believe it or not. They played over it 99 times. Not buying it YET
  7. Had a chance and couldn't get the hit. Will it ever turn around? Good day folks!
  8. I am going to hand it to Pena. Now we have to see if there is any gas left in the tank of a almost non-existent offense
  9. QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 25, 2011 -> 08:24 PM) How can you not counter-move with the lefty in to face Dunn? How??? Does not compute.. Because it's one of your top stars, who happens to be mired in a horrendous slump
  10. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ May 25, 2011 -> 08:21 PM) Which would you prefer, let Morel bat or hit for Dunn? Once that decision was made it was all over. Dunn was the batter and of course another lefty came in. We had a righty against a lefty, why bring in Dunn in that situation?
  11. We are done DUNN and Juan and gone. Ramble, ramble, gnash teeth What a pathetic display. All we needed from AD was a fly ball
  12. Dunn strikes out on a 89 MPH fastball. Texas fans should boo that one too
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 25, 2011 -> 08:04 PM) Floyd really is pitching a hell of a game. He should have a shutout right now. ALways seems to boil down to that one inning doesn't it? Plus our hitters forget how to hit
  14. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 25, 2011 -> 07:41 PM) On the radio Farmer's excuse for Wilson shutting them down is because game lasted so long last night.............towing the excuse company line. And Texas has an excuse Mr Farmer?
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 25, 2011 -> 07:22 PM) Our pitching staff has a 3.05 ERA in May, 3rd best in the AL. Lately, they have been keeping teams down. Actually that was my point. But, you said it better
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ May 25, 2011 -> 07:12 PM) This offense can't continue to get shut out on average about once a week. Sounds simple enough, but they're not even giving the Sox a chance to win when they no show. Oh, and get Viciedo up here immediately to help against LHP. But, our pitching staff shoud be able to keep teams down, but absolutely the offense has been very inconsistent
  17. Shake one of our pitchers and it takes a bit to recover
  18. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 25, 2011 -> 06:38 PM) wtf is with the strike zone? I was going to ask the same thing. K zone says two balls thrown by Floyd were actually strikes and then it is followed by a base hit
