QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 15, 2010 -> 02:39 AM) Of course, you'll be 82-80 and in third place, then. Yep could be. But, maybe it will be enough to win the AL Central

"Having Marv Throneberry play for your team is like having Willie Sutton play for your bank." Marvelous Marv Thornberry NY Mets 1962 Ok now compare that line to one we can come up with for Jenks and Putz and have some fun

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 15, 2010 -> 02:32 AM) /thread. Really...there's a division championship riding on this mistake. I'll go to my grave saying we lost in 06 because of how often Mackowiak played CF, and I think I'll do the same thing saying that we'd have beat the Twins if we'd kept Thome...even if we lose by 6 games, the only reason they have momentum and we don't is that they've been able to cover for Morneau. I can not argue with your statement. Plus I will add Jon Garland to the list of bad trades

QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 05:50 AM) Not to mention Putz road era going into that at-bat... 0.00. That's right... 0.00 era on the road. How anyone can question that decision is absurd. What's the old adage? You win some and you lose some. All you can hope for is at the end of the season you win more than you lose

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 15, 2010 -> 02:27 AM) Castro I still think it will be AJP
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 15, 2010 -> 02:18 AM) AJP is showing massive signs of regression. He has no power left, as even hard hit balls by him die at the warning track. I am torn on this one. He did hit .300 last year and I am thinking this is just one of those off years

QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 15, 2010 -> 02:25 AM) In fairness, he tried to re-sign Pods Oh but apparently not hard enough

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 15, 2010 -> 02:23 AM) Bobby Jenks 1 year, $7.5 million. JJ Putz 1 year, $ 3 million. I don't really believe that but I'm pissed and I've been drinking. I know what you mean and I just witnessed Putz give up anothetr game losing HR

Moves that can come back to bite Kenny? Ok maybe: the trading of CF Chris Young to Az The trading of Gio Gonzalez The trading of 4 young arms inclusding Richards who is now 10-5 for Peavy The trade of Nick Swisher Not resigning Jim Thome Not resigning Juan Uribe The trade of Ely to LA Not resigning Scott Podsednik trading Earl Battey Trading Johnny Callison Trading Denny McClain letting Nellie Fox go to Houston wait a minute now what year are we in?

Danks better not go anywhere except into Reinsdorf's office to sign an extension. Jackson is looking good ands if we have five solid starters I say keep them. Pitching wins games

The loss is on Putz who now has given up two game losing HR's in what? a week Now. We complained about Bibbie Jenks and wanted Putc and he is erratic himself -

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 14, 2010 -> 10:29 PM) Too early to consider him impeached? There is nothing wrong with Kotsay that some basehits and RBI's won't cure -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 14, 2010 -> 07:30 AM) I was thinking about starting a thread on it, but I'll just do it here. Congratulations to Teahen for sparking us in his first game back. After watching Kotsay's weak s*** for so long, Teahen looked like a real hitter. He attacked the ball. Hopefully, I say hopefully Teahen will feel this pennant race, his first-ever, and it'll bring out his best. He is by all accounts a nice guy, and he definitely is in a good situation right now. Sox fans despise Kotsay and Teahen hopefully will get most of his at bats. If Oz gets over whatever is making him love Kotsay and just give Teahen his at bats, that would be splendid. One game is not going to make me like Teahen, but I give him major props tonight. I think he'd be in a perfect situation if Oz gave him Kotsay's at bats. Teahen would be playing with the house's money with nothing to lose, cause Teahen sucked in April and people wanted him GONE. Now they want Kotsay gone. It is a win/win for Teahen if Oz gives him the at bats and sits Kotsay. Of course, Teahen is gonna have to do a lot more to make me really like him. As one Royals fans told me tonight, "Enjoy it. He won't do that often." He did good for his first game back and we won. Special!

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 13, 2010 -> 07:22 PM) Wise is coming back? Oh no... Well, we could start our own special post on DWise I am thinking, but I would rather not go there

QUOTE (RudyLawRules @ Aug 14, 2010 -> 02:22 AM) That's cool. He's got a nice swing and doesn't seem to strike out much. Then again, it is Pioneer League pitching. Billings shut out Great Falls last night

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 14, 2010 -> 05:11 PM) In that case, I hope Edwin makes the pearl eat his words as well. Good exchange. I am very confident we can win this as my TV viewing record with a Sox win has been phenomenal this year -

Game on WGN and I'll be there behind the screen. Hope Edwin shows another fine performance -
QUOTE (RME JICO @ Aug 14, 2010 -> 12:01 PM) Do the 2001 White Sox really have any relevance to how the 2010 White Sox will perform against the Twins this year? History doesn't repeat itself only events

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 13, 2010 -> 06:04 PM) Alright, now I would like to see more Teahen and less A Jones and Kotsay. Lefty hitter wise we probably will

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 13, 2010 -> 05:14 AM) I edited my post as I looked up some stuff. He has no walks in 82 plate appearances. 15 K's before tonight. I wonder how he's going to learn plate discipline. If he gets 600 at bats, my god just the law of averages will have him hitting .250 or less because nobody can hit for average if they don't ever walk. Can you learn such a thing? and his OBP would be horrible
