QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 15, 2009 -> 12:31 AM) Nellie Fox must've been awesome He was-best bad ball hitter I have ever seen and a hustler. Real solid in the field and rarely struck out. I seem to remember less than 20Ks in 600 plus at bats EVERY year. The Mighty Mite teamed with Luis Aparicio as the premier DP combo.

Dang near was-but 7 innings was good enought to see our prospects

Vicideo was paid a lot of money-more than Alexei Ramirez and AR went straight to the bigs and is doing nicely. I would think Cuban baseball is either AAA or better so the struggles have me a bit concrned and confused. But, he was picked for the Futures game so I am guessing someone other than just the Sox people see something in him that's positive

QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 14, 2009 -> 08:18 PM) Maybe it was just part of his deal... That he'd sign for slot but he wanted a week's paid vacation... Something like that. I thought that was what the off season was for, but as lon as he isn't really "injured" I guess that's cool

QUOTE (wilmot825 @ Jul 14, 2009 -> 03:45 AM) in the celebrity softball game, gold medal olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson wore a White Sox hat...She was hot before, now she got even sexier in my book. I saw that too. What a great all-star game

I missed all but the last three innings of the game because of work. I had to wait till the BBTN report to see the Prez in a Sox jacket and never did see MB. What a shame that work interferes with life.
-
I want to see that picture. Hopefully tonight on BBTN

HALLADAY is not worth trading any of our starting rotation of MB, Danks or Floyd. Doc would be an addition to the staff not a replacement

I had never realy thought of the Sox jettisoning Fields until I read the article today. KW and Ozzie were like 110% committed to the guy at 3B and it didn't work out. But, we need a back up at 3B and 1B and he hasn't done too bad of a job. Unless Teahan is a far better fit I would just keep Fields for now. However, if he is part of a trade to bring us a quality starter then that's a different story.

QUOTE (sox405 @ Jul 13, 2009 -> 05:29 AM) STEVE STONE SAID SATURDAY ON THE BROADCAST THAT TARGET FIELD IS GOING TO BE A HOME RUN HITTING PARK, WHICH IS NICE TO HEAR THAT WE ARE A HOME RUN TEAM. I DONT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE METRODOME THE SOX JUST PLAY BETTER ON GRASS PLAIN AND SIMPLE. And that's how baseball should be played-on natural grass and outside not on cement

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 10:05 PM) If Cooper can turn Pena in to a solid 7th/8th inning guy, then you could deal without both Jenks and Dotel...especially if you can pull DJ back together. If Pena and Carrasco continue to struggle though, then that bullpen is decidedly average. What is Pena doing wrong that Cooper can fix? Maybe this is all Pena has to offer? -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 10:00 PM) Depends on whether we're thinking we can win it all this season or whether we're playing to be as good as we can each of the next few seasons. I agree, but Jenks is impressive when on, but I think he hasn't been as effective lately. As far as our team play we sure sem to be having a hard time getting past that 2.5 games out. It will be really intersdting and I hope exciting ball when we take on tghe Carmines and Yankees -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 09:57 PM) Well, I don't mind making a run at it this year as long as Gordo stays. If it means we deal Jenks, then so be it. We'd be one hell of a ballclub with that rotation, this bullpen, and this offense... Dealing Jenks might be in the cards though. I am not going to say I wouldn't be concerned about a closer for the Sox, but the reality of it is we know we will have to give up plenty of talent to get a guy like Halliday. I don't want to raid the farm system though. But, if Jenks isn't trade bait to better the team who might be the pitcher (s)? Richard? Dotel? The Jays will want someone who can help them quickly I would think. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 08:43 PM) White Sox looking at Halladay? There's a good chance White Sox general manager Ken Williams is looking into Roy Halladay, though in an e-mail he wrote, "I don't kiss and tell." Williams recently traded for Arizona reliever Tony Pena, and it might be he can trim payroll by dealing closer Bobby Jenks, who makes $5.6 million and appears to be in demand. Boston Globe DEW IT -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 08:42 PM) Another RBI for Beckham. If Crede robbed him there, we would have never heard the end of it. Crede is a better fielder for sure, but I am so impressed with GB and his hitting and his effort at thr hot corner. It isn't his fault he was thrust into that role at 3B -

QUOTE (hometeamfan @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 08:35 PM) One tough inning for Danks....many borderline pitches in the first. Two hits after that. Think its coincidence that it was a matchup of game 163? Have you ever seen Danks walk four in a row? Just saying....little suspect. I did make mention of that myself yesteray in a POST. Even the Twins announcers on the radio said they thought Danks was getting really squeezed by the umpire -

Hope Buerhle is up for the game and sharp. He can be the single most effective player on the field today -
Joe Crede did hisbest to beat his old team and Jenks did his best to give up the game, but we won and that's that

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 04:25 PM) Quentin was 1-4 with a run scored in yesterdays game. Has he shown any extra base power yet and not to mention speed?
