  1. There are apparently more crazy people here than I first realized. Bring back Joe Crede.
  2. QUOTE (WCSox @ May 25, 2009 -> 07:31 PM) Thanks, I was just about to post this. My evening just got a lot better. Woo-hoo! You welcome and so did mine. We are having a big family barbecue this afternoon and now I can line the wife's family up give them their burger and scoop of potatoe salad and maybe a beer and tell them to hit the road.
  3. Take a moment Soxtalk and remember those who served our country and in some cases gave their lives for our freedom. Baseball players have a history of service to their country. Baseball is one of those things that makes Amer ica great!
  4. QUOTE (BearSox @ May 24, 2009 -> 05:14 PM) I don't mind him, but if you can get him for Dye, you do it. I wouldn't be focused on trying to get him though. Sorry, but this a crazy idea. You trade a HR hiting, RBI producer, high average player that also plays pretty good defense for a mediocre pitcher? No way. Once again we don't value our own players enough
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 24, 2009 -> 04:40 PM) Because obviously Don Cooper could make him into a Cy Young award winner... I've heard about that kind of stuff
  6. 7:05 PM MDT tonight on the MLB TV cable channel, if your provider carries it, features Sox game versus LAA. I am lucky enough to get that channel here so I'll be behind the big screen. Danks for the Sox
  7. I see this game is feautured on MLB tv channel. I wil be able to watch the Sox beat the Angels
  8. QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 25, 2009 -> 03:24 AM) Passan's article is silly. Add Peavy and they still have about $25M coming off the books next year. Their two biggest bats play the critical defensive positions of RF and DH. Don't you think they can replace Dye and Thome's production for a lot less than $25M? I don't think they can. Maybe replace a 40 HR guy with a 15 homer guy, but we will be lacking for sure
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 24, 2009 -> 10:10 PM) So we're mad at AJ for being a poor #5 hitter and we want to trade him and go with Lucy? Doesn't make any sense does it?
  10. Rather then complain about Perz I would start to question the reliability of our so called stud closer
  11. QUOTE (shipps @ May 24, 2009 -> 12:48 PM) No that is really bad in my book. Unless he is dominating down there he doesnt come back up. Wrong. I don't see the Sox ever using that line. He just needs to be pitching with some consistency. He went down on his own and you don't ;eave someone with his experiece and years in the majors down at AAA unless he is "dominating". I admire Jose for the decision he made and I think we wil be seeing him back in the Sox rotation. The one I worry about right now is Colon.
  12. QUOTE (Reddy @ May 24, 2009 -> 05:50 PM) I want Joey Cora back... I want to see Al Lopez or Eddie Stankey back, but I'll take a sweep of the Bucs
  13. Richard deserves a lot of credit. Why do we have someone criticizing him? Joey Cora on the post game said the kid was using all his pitches and mixing them up but came in with the heat up to 96 MPH at times. He hit his locations, etc. etc. I like some of our young talent and he is up there.
  14. Alexei with a two run bomb. It was his second homer in two days. Maybe he is coming around? WE WON!
  15. Let's not analyze too much. We won and that's two in a row-shutouts np less. Savor the wins. Plus if the Tigers lost that's even better. It's along season and we can win this.
  16. QUOTE (DaveBrown85 @ May 23, 2009 -> 06:59 PM) no rain this evening. At least not enough to cancel the game It is nice and clear here also-oh wait a minute this is in Big Sky Country- Anyway I'll be behind the TV tonight
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 21, 2009 -> 07:00 AM) They probably meant that the Sox would promote Beckham to Charlotte and move him to 3B, with Viciedo staying at 3B for the Barons. Just a thought....too early for anyone to think about moving him off SS or where he will end up in the majors in 2010 until we watch the major league team for at least another 4-6 weeks. Where does that leave Viciedo in the scheme of things?
  18. Isn't anyone going to watch this game with me?
  19. We saw tonight what we knew Gavin Floyd and Alexei Ramirez could do and I hope this great efort cotinues. Win or lose that's the kind of play we thought we were going to see when the season started
  20. Gavin Floyd stepped up!!! That's what we needed to see. Alexei Ramirez with 2 hits and a SBthat's what we neded to see. Sox Win! Sox Win!
  21. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ May 22, 2009 -> 10:19 PM) Hmm thoughts of Beckham replacing Fields perhaps? That is very interesting and might be the idea
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ May 22, 2009 -> 08:25 PM) You saw it was plantar fascitis, right? If it is that type on injury it could be up to a year to heal that heel properly
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ May 22, 2009 -> 08:27 PM) Going to the game tonight...I've seen Quentin play 5 times, and he's homered each time. Sox are 1-0 with Gavin on the mound when I've been there, so hopefully they make it 2 and 0. This feels like a big game, as we need to get some momentum going this series or we could be looking at a road trip that could push us into a double digit deficit behind the Tigers. Alright Fathom this is all on your shoulders now
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ May 22, 2009 -> 07:21 PM) The bigger question is what team is Peavy rooting for? You know the answer to that Fathom. He's rooting for HIS team, whatever that might be
  25. We get to see Clayton Richard go against the Bucs in his first game back from limbo trade land. Hope we see a great performance from CR and hear no more about Jake Peavy
