They were all fine today

White Sox @ Blue Jays 12:07pm WGNHD
QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2009 -> 08:37 PM) Yeah, I have no problem with Podsednik's effort today. Great job in the first inning, and then a good throw to get the runner. It is the definition of futility though. We scored that run without the benefit of a hity. And that was all she wrote on our offsne for the day. Of course our pen couldn't hold it either

Sox @ Jays 5-15
QUOTE (2OutRally @ May 15, 2009 -> 05:11 PM) So how well are the Sox gunna fare off this Brett Cecil kid and his 0.64 ERA? I actually feel blindly optimistic about this series. We've played our best baseball in a dome, might as well continue it? Go Johnny Danks! I am forecasting a shut out but we win

Sox @ Jays 5-15
QUOTE (robinventura23 @ May 15, 2009 -> 03:05 PM) Hopefully we never seen Lillibridge's puny lil' face again. The kid is ok with a glove so he is back up material. Maybe he will go back down to the minors and practice on his swing as was advised by Ozzie

Matt Holliday...
I feel strongly both ways about pursuing Matt. But, reality is that we probably won't spend big dollars. I actually see us bringing up our own talent as long as KW doesn't trade everyone away again. Look at the potential for Jordan Danks! An OF of Quentin-Danks -Anderson wouldn't be bad

Your tricks to maximizing your USCF experience
Pants Rowland Said "Don't buy anything you have to home take with you, no matter how much the kids beg. If it is a date, judgement call on what you think it will get you and if it is worth it" It would be my luck all I would get is a slap in the face

Contreras Update
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 14, 2009 -> 12:23 PM) His ERA means nothing. He needs to be able to throw his forkball for strikes. He even admits he has no problem throwing strikes in the bullpen, so I think its just a matter of time. This is a guy who usually shows up in spring training ready to throw 115 pitches. He wasn't this year, he had an extra long layoff, he's older. The Sox are going to need him. Yes. We have folks that forget he is about 6 months early in his original return date to major league play. Once he can regain his control, arm strength, feel for the pitches etc, I am thinking we will see Contreras providing that spark we need to win

Is Josh Fields a bust?
QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 14, 2009 -> 03:25 PM) you should change that flag to "Go Crede" I'll put my other "fanboys" to work on it

Is Josh Fields a bust?
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 14, 2009 -> 03:42 PM) Crede's fanboys are pretty predictable. No apologies here

Is Josh Fields a bust?
Joe Crede is working his magic in Twinkie land while Fields is plowed under MINNEAPOLIS -- Twins manager Ron Gardenhire tried to find the words to describe what he had just witnessed on Wednesday night. And well, forgive him if he couldn't exactly come up with a way to summarize the Twins' 14-10 walk-off victory over the Tigers that ended after four hours and 48 minutes with Joe Crede's two-out pinch-hit grand slam in the 13th inning.

Sox vs. Tribe 5/13 @ 11:05
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 13, 2009 -> 07:23 PM) I just hate how every fix we offer is going to wind up with Anderson going to the bench, or winding up in a platoon situation (and he's hitting RHP vastly better than LHP this year). BA going to the bench is not a solution that's for sure. I hope when he is back and some others get healthy we will satrt seeing some improvement in this offesne. I don't for a minute think Cliff Lee is not a quality pitcher, but another zero run offensive showing is really a sad commnetary on this team. If I am not wrong our team offense must be last in the AL or close.

Umm, and that's a White Sox winner!
Jim Thome was my PTC, which was a late minute change when I found out CQ was hurting. I will accept the accolades of all Soxtalk posters for getting this game in the win column and bringing Thome out of his slump. Anyone else you want me to work on? B)

Interesting Oz quote about Gavin Floyd

Sox vs Tribe 5/12 @ 6:05 - CSN
Are we through yet? at least for today? Carasco comes in and can;'t get the first batter out and now has to int. walk the hitter and load the bases

QUOTE (tommy @ May 13, 2009 -> 01:32 AM) That's it for Clayton, DJ Carrasco in. Three innings from Richard. am sure they wanted at least 5

Sox vs Tribe 5/12 @ 6:05 - CSN
QUOTE (fathom @ May 13, 2009 -> 12:24 AM) I'm thrilled with Cooper's comments though. I was sick of hearing his stuff is there but his confidence isn't. His fork ball is his main "stuff" pitch, and he had nothing on it so far this year. You're right. at least we got an honest opinion/analysis

Sox vs Tribe 5/12 @ 6:05 - CSN
QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 13, 2009 -> 12:15 AM) What a surprise, the hitters see Richard more than once and all of a sudden he is hittable. Ridiculous Richard is the new name. 4 hits and 3 walks in 3 innings? He was really prepared to show us why he should start I guess. NOT

QUOTE (Princess Dye @ May 12, 2009 -> 11:55 PM) Nix is about to enter Bears Backup QB status well 1990-2008 shall we say. I am starting to like this Nix guy a lot

QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 13, 2009 -> 12:00 AM) Two out hitting? Jimmy hobbling or running or something. Come on Fields. Remember Jim Thome has a heel problem like Quentin

Sox vs Tribe 5/12 @ 6:05 - CSN
QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ May 13, 2009 -> 12:35 AM) Can someone make a signature of that heroic sequence? I want it to have today's date, a picture of Lillibridge swinging his bat, a background of the Hall of Fame, and a special note that says "10 pitch AB." At the bottom there should be a note that the ball traveled over 200 ft. That would be a homer at Yankmee Stadium, or the neighborhood little league field

Sox vs Tribe 5/12 @ 6:05 - CSN
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 13, 2009 -> 12:06 AM) I can't believe Thome hit a homer against a LHP. Yay!!! Earlier I saw that CQ was hurt and changed my PTC to Thome. The vibes worked
