  1. You would think a real good conditioning program might work!?
  2. I think we will trade for Pods and Erstad. That will be our trades unless we can get a reliever or two
  3. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 05:59 AM) If he wants a five year contract, give it to him. I agree. I think that KW and the Sox front office shoots themselves in the foot (feet) everytime they put a restriction on signing someone like Mark to a contract. The guy has no arm trouble history and is a consistent pitcher and team leader. You make exceptions for people like that
  4. Jenks wins it for us. The thing about Bobby is that he at least challenges hitters even if he doesn't throw 100 MPH anymore
  5. Please learn how to finish off a team and a batter Massett and otrhers
  6. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 02:57 AM) Why take the bat out of the hands of a hot hitter? Let him swing away and have Uribe bunt OR NOT
  7. Why take the bat out of the hands of a hot hitter? Let him swing away and have Uribe bunt
  8. Terrero is one of those underated players just looking for a chance to play everyday. He has looked pretty good. Thome and a blast is nice as he is my PTC tonight. Maybe I can get back on the winning track too
  9. Offense is back tonight. What I'd like to see though is 2 or 3 nights in a row where they produce. Contreras just isn't looking very sharp the last fe games.
  10. Why would Dunn be a bad move. The guy has 18 homers and 40 some RBI's. Where do our current players rate?
  11. Maybe next year I can go the Chicago. Last time I saw the Sox in Chitown was 1987 at Old Comiskey. I saw that there Kenny Williams guy hit a homer against Milwaukee. The only other games in person were seeing the Sox as visitors. I think when I was in Chicago in '87 I stayed at some small motel off the interstate in South Holland.
  12. Underachieving managers with underachieving teams take note. Jerry Manuel rumored to be in the loop in Baltimore. O's fire Perlozzo, give Trembley interim job Ken Rosenthal FOXSports.com, Updated 4 hours ago FROM FOX SPORTS.COM The Orioles have fired manager Sam Perlozzo and replaced him with bullpen coach Dave Trembley, FOXSports.com has learned. The firing of Perlozzo was first reported by The (Baltimore) Sun. In addition, the Orioles are expected to name former Cubs executive Andy MacPhail their chief operating officer, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. MacPhail developed a strong relationship with Orioles owner Peter Angelos when the two were on opposite sides of the bargaining table during baseball's labor negotiations in 2002. Trembley will be the team's interim manager while the Orioles search for a permanent replacement. Among the possibilities: Former Marlins manager Joe Girardi, former Orioles manager Davey Johnson and former White Sox manager Jerry Manuel.
  13. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 12:22 AM) Hmm, looking ahead at Buehrle's next projected start against the Cubs at home, I wouldn't be surprised if it were his last in a White Sox uniform. If I were Williams, I'd be looking to trade Buehrle at peak value. If he were to remain on the ballclub, the next several starts after this weekend would be against Tampa Bay, Baltimore, Minnesota. Not exactly an impossible set of opponents, but there's the possibility Buehrle's number begin to inflate against American League teams. We need to keep Buerhle. Pitching is what wins ballgames. If we trade anyone it should be Contreras or Vazquez. I was a bit surprised at Ozzie talk about Iguchi and yet we have a SS hitting his weight at .210, never walks and k's a lot and we hear nothing? Uribe is a good defender when he plays hard, but the BA keeps plumetting every year. I suppose though the same can be said about a lot of our guys this year.
  14. Vazquez has so much talent, but averages something like a homer allowed every 3 or 4 innings. We don't need a firesale as everyone is calling for - what we need are good relievers in the bullpen. Now that may mean some folks get traded, but we aren't any worse off as far as games behind as the Yankees were/are. I guess maybe I can see Dye, McDougal and another releiver getting traded, but it better be for relief help and maybe Adam Dunn. We will be getting Erstand and Pods back soon. There may be some spark added to this club. Don't abandon ship yet.
  15. OH well we lost again. But do you realize how long it's been since we put up a fight in the 9th? We need some relief pitchers quick.
  16. Break for Sox. 2 on now are we going to finally see Thome PH? Yes for Pierz. Now Big Jim do some damage!!!
  17. I see Fields is showing a bit of pop in his bat the last few games. That' good anyway
  18. Relief pitchers have given up 3 runs. Let's ee if Thornton is any better than the other three We scored 5 runs which is great, but all in one inning? Three Pit DP's don't help our casue any either
  19. Well McDougal learned a lot at Charlotte, but apparently nothing about relief pitching
  20. Tryingf to get my computer up and running so I can join in. It seems you need some company. Notice that as things drag on and down that fewer of us are on the site? I see we are losing thanks to Homerdomer Vazquez. Marte on for the Pirates which means he will K every Sox hitter with our luck
  21. B) Perhaps Don Cooper can get him on track
  22. QUOTE(Wanne @ Jun 17, 2007 -> 02:16 AM) I'm not sure why Thome wasn't playing 1st. But who knows why Ozzie does anything anymore. Say hello to our next 3b for the next 5 years. He has had one good game. Let's ask for a bit more before crowning Fields the King of 3bmen. I would still like to see him in LF and Crede signed for 3 -5 years
