  1. Message to Uribe? Plus if Gonzalez goes down we have a relief infielder to bring up and try out.
  2. I assume this guy we are facing is arookie and maybe making his debut, which means a 2-0 or 2-1 Pitt win as Buerhle gives up two solo homers and we score on a bases loaded walk in the 9th with no one out followed by 3 straight K's Script writer for SNL here
  3. We should keep him. Pitching is in such short supply and he is a real good lefty pitcher and a good team player
  4. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 07:42 PM) Borchard? Can we get him back? After what I have seen of these other guys he isn't any worse that's for sure. It seems we have a bunch of singles hittesr-punch and judy types all under .200. Terrero is actually looking better than the others.
  5. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 11:03 PM) Now as everybody knows by now, I don't blame Ozzie for THIS year. And as everybody also knows, if we had won today it wouldn't have mattered. But Ozzie still made decisions that were inexcuseable: -Taking Danks and his 102 pitches out after 4 and 2/3 innings. First of all, whatever happened to trying to get your pitcher the win. Plus, he just struck out Ryan freaking Howard, had got Burrell out earlier in the game, and realistically could have tried to pitch the 6th too had he got Burrell out, while only giving up 2 runs. -Bringing Thornton in during the 6th. Bring in the damn loogy Ozzie! You could have let Logan do the work, than pinch hit for him in the bottom half. But nope, Thornton comes in AND is allowed to bat with a man on base and the game tied. Hell, why not even double switch Fields out of the game? He made the last out of the 6th, you LOVE Andy Gonzalez, and you took Fields out in a double switch last night. -Thanks for getting our best left in for the 8th to whiff the heart of their order. Not like it was too late or anything, or that Logan has looked 10 times better than Matty has lately. At least Fields made a great play to save your ass for the moment to end the 5th on Burrell I guess. -Thornton has thrown 40 pitches, had NO control, and the bases were loaded. What do you do? LEAVE HIM IN TO FACE THE RIGHTY!! That grand slam might have simply been the baseball gods slapping Ozzie in the face for being a dumbass. At least you hit Jerry Owens, a bad player on 1 leg, leadoff though! Again, let me be clear. My blame for 2007 goes squarely on Kenny Williams. But today's game might have been the worst managed by anybody in baseball this year. The moves were right it was the palyers that didn't perform. Plus reading todays reports it seems his righty bulpen pitchers "couldn't get loose." Maybe it's time for some new pitchers?
  6. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 08:58 PM) i've never seen so much damage done on 0-2 counts until this season You are right. It amazes me how they can never put someone away with two strikes on them or can't find the strike zone and then give up the big hit. We have seen quite a few grand slammers given up by the relief pitchers.
  7. You do have to like seeing Dye get some hits. Two games in arow. Maybe he is coming out of this slump.
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 07:43 PM) Look at his numbers this year, and then think about how guys like Hunter and Jones will get between 12 and 15 mil per season. Also, I'm sure the Sox will think that he brings amazing intangibles to the table as well. I honestly believe he could get more money than that. BTW, would anyone be opposed to trying Willie Harris at 2nd base next year, as long as he has a platoon person who can hit lefties good? I liked Wee Willie. He gave it his all.
  9. Today, 07:43 PM Post #247 Ed Farmer FANATIC STEFF QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 02:41 PM) What the heck happend??? I was listening to the game, it was tied, I answered a phone call and came back to being down by 5! How bad can this team really be??? I don't ever remember a Sox team that was this pathetic. STEFF SAID WHAT? You're what? Mid 30's? .. You can remember at least a couple. I SAID: I can that's for sure. 1968 was one
  10. relief pitchers just gave up 6 runs in 2 innings. Once again our weakness shows through
  11. I was watching gameday (MLB) and the thing is slower than slow. I had no idea that Crash just crushed us. Thornton gave up a grand slam. Pathetic relief pitching gets worse. How is that possible? This team has nothing going for it at all.
  12. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 07:32 PM) why would you walk a guy with 3 k's on the day? Cause they can't challenge anyone and win
  13. Cooper apparently even visited the mound before the go ahead hit
  14. Another run given up by a Sox relief pitcher. Buckvich with an era of about 11. We need some changes you can't succeed 1 out of 5 appearances and stay in the majors.
  15. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 08:06 AM) Good for you, but in this incident, it remains to be seen what occurred. Hopefully the part about there possibly being racial things said truly is false. The problem is that someone will authomatically say that whatever happened was racist or off colored racist jokes, but the person at the table that complained said IT WASN'T. But, heh when did the facts ever get in the way of a good story? Let's not blow things out of proportion and also thanks to Jim Thome for being the class act gentleman that he is.
  16. I hope we get Pods and Erstad back pretty soon. Crede is about 2 or 3 months out . And our pitching? well they are leaking fuel cans when they come in to pitch.
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 12:45 AM) Two things: - Verlander has a no-hitter through 7 - Masset is a 2-game wonder Fathom, remember how a lot of posters were calling for Masset to be our savior 5th starter after his earlier start of the season. He then returns to the pen and blows up like the rest of them. You sure can't be considering these guys as our saviors on one game and what's been happening shows that. My guess is there will be changes coming again this weekend at the latest.
  18. I just checked in on gameday. Pathetic display again. We get homers from two slumping sluggers and our pitching folds up and quits on us. I am glad I have to go to a meeting. See you later.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 10:11 PM) Contreras on the mound with Hall behind the plate.....I predict the Phillies steal 6 bases today. Think positive like 4 steals or something. They can steal all they want as long as they don't score. I am hoping Jose steps up and keeps the Phils under control.
  20. QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 03:57 PM) I can see MacDougal coming up from Charlotte and staying in Philly after this series is over. We just might have more bullpen changes coming again.
  21. I like Dye, but I am not certain he really is in the Sox plans beyond this year. Trade bait is a real possibility
  22. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 05:48 PM) 7 Eastern 6 Central Thanks for the correction on the time. I had meant to come back to this earlier and do that and let everyone know the real time was 5 PM MOUNTAIN DAYLIGHT TIME QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 01:08 AM) I saw Dante Bichette hit for the cycle in person. So there. I saw an elephant fly
  23. National TV for Sox fans out of the market. 5 PM EDT start. We get to see Crash Rowand. Freddie Garcia is on the DL. Hope we can make it a 2 game winning streak Monday night.
