I think Hermy has something to show and hopefully can keep it to the one run Tribe lead
-
Dye maybe with a hit and run to the right side makes some sense, but when someone can't bunt and history tells you as much why do you try it anyway?
-
Tell me please if Uribe was going for the downs on that pop up out?
-
That first pitch when Dye tried to bunt and Howry put it in a perfect place kind of set the tone for that at bat. A pop out with a runner in scoring position.
-
I kept getting kicked off the board and having it freeze up. I am back I hope and just in time to see Pablo get the double.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 02:56 AM) Sox are going to come back. I thought that was the end of the inning (that stolen base). Why the hell didn't the Sox call a high fastball when they had 2 strikes on Boone I'll never know. Still, Boone did a nice job on the pitch. That's what I was looking for also. A high hard one instead of basicaly in the same spot. The kid got wild and then tried to make aperfect pitch instead of the high heat. He blew it with Marte's help. Should of at the most be a tie game. Oh well, we have 2 more chances to get this one.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 02:50 AM) Fock that, Its Jenks time. Is that you Ozzie dahling?
-
My gosh. Marte got the K. One more out, just one more to get out of this inning.
-
QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 02:46 AM) Ozzie and his bright frigging ideas and Marte are going to suck the life out of this team I apologize for my negativity. I can't see the game as I only have MLB game day access. Was it a tough pitch to hit for the double? The worse thing anyway was a walk preceeding the hit.

Ozzie and his bright frigging ideas and Marte are going to suck the life out of this team

Marte and his inability to get the first hitter he faces OUT! That's what we mean when we talk overmanaging. Cotts should have stayed in the game.
-
QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 02:38 AM) No excuse for cotts or someone with superior numbers than vizcaino not to be in. I am glad vizcaino got peralta out but this was a move that could have easily bit ozzie in the ass. I would like to see Cotts go more than just 2 batters, but Viz has been coming around more and more the second half. But I think you are taking too much of a chance playing guerssing games with every relief pitcher we have. Stay with someone hot.

My fervent prayer when I logged off in disgust was made to Shoeless Joe Jackson. I hoped it would bring the Sox offense out of its doldrums. IT DID PEOPLE! Go Sox!
-
I don't want to buy into or join the gloom and doom, but this offesne is pathetic. I am logging off before I say anything worse than that. I love this Sox ream, but I am afraid we are giving this to the Tribe on a silver platter.
-
Pathetic inning again. Dye K's on what looks like a low pitch outside the strike zone and we go down meekly after Konerko's single
-
It was so good to see Konerko battle Millwood through 9 pitches an then get the hit to right. Learn other Sox hitters! Please!
-
Freddie has avoided the big inning tonight. However, he has not avoided several small innings till the 4th. It might be too late for tonite's game now to make any difference. The Sox offense has scored 4 runs in 32 innings and with 2 hits thru 3 doesn't look to be aby better.
-
I look at the situation this way. We are going into this crucial series with the Indians with the major's leader in SB's not stealing anymore; our offense in the tank-again; our starters getting rocked the last 2 weeks or so; The Indians winning 9 out of their last 10 and I say this about that... It's all good for the Sox. We will see the team character and make up here in these next 3 games. I think these guys and their pride and their comradarie will equate into at least 2 out of 3 for the Sox in this series.

QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 01:33 PM) Does anyone miss esteban loaiza? We're the definite losers in that trade, right peter gammons? JOSE, way to step it up big guy I always liked Esteban Loaiza and was sorry to seem him traded. If we had him in the #5 spot right now rather than El Duque things might be better off for us. However, El Dugue gave it his all. I wonder if he isn't hurt or something. I also would rather point the funger at Ozzie for not going with McCarthy a couple starts ago.
-
Ok Gas, you said it first, but you are right. Freddie struggles in that first inning a lot and he has said that sometimes he doesn't start out with the fire he should. I am thinking he will be "en fuego" tonight.
-
Another failed opportunity to bring in a runner in scoring position.

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 07:13 PM) inning/score? I am only posting this in case you aren't familiar with the www and how you can operate it. If you do and/or have another computer issue I apologize. But, I found that I can log onto MLB game day through www.mlb.com and then the scoreboard. If I minmize the screen I can then log on to soxtalk and click between the 2 sites. I can see the action, slow as it may be on the computer screen, and post on soxtalk. I hope I helped sorry if I am assuming anything here though and acting to computer literate.

The Count got the DP. How the heck did Perzy start that? Good job!
-
I can see now that we just can't help but give the Twinkies back that run. Probably an extra one or two also. :headshake

I wonder why Blum is playing in place of Crede? Has he been clutch for us at all this year? I say that hoping to eat my words later and have Blum deliver the winning hit. Will it happen?
