  1. I said nothing that innin at all hoping things would not be the same. I am just drained from this pathetic display. All we needed was a fly ball
  2. Ford and Jones are always coming back to haunt us, plus the inability to bring home runners in scoring position
  3. We aren't getting the calls from the umps at all on plays like that
  4. I hate to say what's on my mind right now so I won't. I'll just suffer with everybody else.
  5. Politte throwing and he ain't getting the strike zone either. What's up here?
  6. Marte has become one of the most inconsistent releivers we have it's simply pathetic to watch anymore. You have got to throw strikes and get the first guy out. That is the cardinal rule of a relief pitcher. What doesn't D Marte get about that?
  7. QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 01:45 AM) believe it or not, qwerty did not give up the homerun. That's hard to believe! Are you 100% sure?
  8. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 01:35 AM) lord, was it too much to ask that just once, JUST ONCE, Jaque Jones does not go yard against us???? :banghead Apparently it is too much to ask
  9. Nice job by McCarthy. I hope Ozzie doesn't dismiss this kid out of hgand simply because he thinks El Duque is so grand and has been with the team all season. My guess is he will let the Duke pitch next time around too. Most likely with the championship on the line
  10. QUOTE(TaylorStSox @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 10:57 PM) It's not something that you can back up with any type of evidence. A good defensive IF changes the way pitchers approach the game. Other people might not have noticed, but when Crede went down, our pitchers stopped attacking hitters. Coincidence? Possibly. I'd like to believe differently. I think it also is a justified statement based on how Crede is rated by those that see him everyday. Plus there have been gold glove comments on Crede made by other folks outside the organization.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 04:55 AM) My fellow Sox fans: which players on the White Sox this season do you believe have overachieved? Shockingly, it's basically a lot of our pitchers that could be considered on this list. Based off of something JimH and Dick Allen said earlier, there's really none of the Sox hitters which have overachieved this season. Here's my overachiever list: - Garland - Contreras - Politte - Cotts - Hermanson Fathom, I think I would be looking at the list of underachievers. That's why we have a 2 1/2 game lead versus having already clinched this thing.
  12. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 10:55 PM) If you don't think that's funny you can just get the hell out. I think Larry the Cable guy must be a Sox fan don't you think? Blue collar worker and all...
  13. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 07:25 PM) thats pretty damn funny right there I don't care who you are... that's funny right there now.
  14. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 07:25 PM) thats pretty damn funny right there I don't care who you are... that's funny right there now.
  15. Joe Crede is a gold glove caliber thirdbaseman. He may not hit .300, but he takes enough hits away from those that do to make up for it. He also has talent and we need to be willling to help that develop into star material.
  16. I was hoping Baj might show us a little something here, but another homer wasn't my idea
  17. QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 02:33 AM) If you count in all the chances he has thrown away to score by getting caught stealing and by getting picked off... that negates from his obp in my eyes. I mean sure he gets on but he doesn't give us a chance to score waaaaaaaaaaaay too f***ing often. He is a s***ty base runner.... plain and simple. Pods has definently went South on us. He doesn't hit with any power at all and now can't steal a base. He hasn't been a force for awhile.
  18. I would like to see them at least make a game of it. Might makes us feel better going up against Santana and the Twinkies series
  19. QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 02:18 AM) I mean 4 or 5 games in a row like starting today. Minnie isn't going to lay down for us like they did for the Indians. As hot as Cle. is right now they can take over easily. Ok. I understand wshat you are saying and I agree. Minny won't lay down, but I kind of feel good about our chances against them. If we can get good solid starting pitching, which has not been there the last 2 weeks or so. McCarthy could help
  20. QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 02:14 AM) What if the sox go into a losing streak? I don't know guys, I am not sold on our playoff spot at all. We are in a losing streak and have been for awhile. At least we won last night
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 02:13 AM) If you're going to give Ozzie all the praise for 91 wins, then you have to give him all the blame for potentially blowing a 15 game lead on August 1st. I feel strongly both ways about that
  22. It's the home run ball I tell you. We won by it last night nd we lose by it tonight. The bad thing is we were in it till a 8-9 pitch at bat and then a big fat one for the Tribe
