  1. QUOTE(Reddy @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 06:37 PM) but then what happens to us 19 year olds who have still been sox fans our whole lives and been on this board for 2+ years? We'll make you an "Old Guy" too!
  2. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 06:06 PM) J. Hood had Mac on from MJH and Mac told J. Hood that one of the players came up to him during the celebration and said that Marte will probably not be on the LCS Roster. I doubt that was really said. Even if it was the players don't make that decision and it would be way to quick for that to be decided. Not that I think Marte should be on the roster because I wonder if he can be effective. But, that only leaves us with one lefty in the pen. However, on the other hand some of our right relievers can neutralize lefties quite well. I would like to see BMac on the roster. I wonder if Marte has lost confidence, is tired or hurt?
  3. But think about this for a minute. Us Old Timers as it may be will be looked upon by the newbies as the annointed ones who know it all. They will hang on our every post and think we are darn smart.
  4. QUOTE(SoxPhan7 @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 03:12 PM) I have been thinking about this alot too. And the only bandwagoners i want are kids. Maybe 15 and younger. That is the time in their life they are most impressionable and the time they become true life long sox fans. If we get the kids, the ball park will be full for generations to come and we wont have those obnoxious bandwagon jumpers. It sounds like you are talking cult stuff here man. I am spooked now.
  5. QUOTE(SoxPhan7 @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 06:11 PM) Todays ALCS was postponed until sunday night, meaning that is the yanks win tomorrow game five will be on monday with the ALCS set to begin tuesday. Would MLB push the start of the ALCS back a day? If so it really f***s up a lot of plans! Any one know? Not if the Angels win tomorrow.
  6. QUOTE(joeynach @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 06:18 PM) I recall sutcliffe or berman saying after our sweep something like "now we really know how good the sox bullpen really is". I wes like duh, we knew this all along and have being saying it all year. They are one of the reasons we are so good. Stupid ESPN people just dont take notice until we play the red sox or yankees. Pathetic. You can't possibly know anything about the other teasm when you live on a steady diet of Yankees and Red Sox baseball.
  7. What we need is paul Konerko and Frank Thomas both back. The Big Hurt hitting third and Paulie 4th. We lacked that true #3 hitter this season and Frank showed us his professionalism and his team spirit plus he hit for power when he was in the lineup. He and Paulie can lead the offense. I would like to see Pods-Tad-Frank-Paulie-Dye-Rowand-AJ-Crede-Uribe.
  8. I was surprised that Garcia came out for the inning anyway. We have a well rested pen let's use it please. Maybe Marte will put it together.
  9. I would be looking at a relief pitcher in the 6th
  10. I just noted Fredddie's pitch count at 97 pitches through 5 innings. I haven't been able to watch or otherwise follow the game till just now. He must be struggling hard and lucky the BoSox only have 2 runs. Let's go Sox.
  11. Freddie does get a little rattled at times, but if we end this inning with a tie score and then keep these characters down I will be happy.
  12. I love you all. Let's get along please I just can't take this pressure.
  13. What I have heard from the weather people is chance of rain late meaning the game shoud be a go. It will be a fast game especially if Buerhle is up for tomorrow with his A game. Now you could be here in Montana where it is 32 degrees and rain mixed with snow all day. Expecting maybe a foot of snow by mid morning. The rain is headed East dear friends so hold on to your umbrellas.
  14. I watched this afternon on ESPN High Def and saw the Sox whip them carmines. I will be there again on Wed at 5 PM MDT. Go Sox. It was incredible.
  15. How about Tiny's Tavern on 4th Ave N and N 24th in Billings? Or failing that my living room in front of my big screen TV. You guys bring the beer. Here's a toast to you SoxTalk Fans and the Sox!
  16. We need Paul Konerko back with the Sox in 2006 and beyond. I also hope we keep the Big Hurt as our DH and hitting number three. We had a problem with the #3 spot this year because we didn't have Frank back and healthy. When he was there he was dynamite and so was the team. However, Everett is on the roster and hitting 5th and I think that a player of Carl's caliber and talent will be delivering against the Red Sox. I am counting on it.
  17. Ozzie rewards his players that have been there from the beginning. El Duque was, plus as mentioned BMAC would not have been ready to pitch till game three probably. The kid is good, but El Duque deserves to be on the roster. I would have liked to have seen Gload on too because he adds that LH PH bat, if nothing else, and he could have subbed for Konerko if needed. Blum is useful, but not productive. Willie Harris deserves to be on the roster too. Little Willie adds speed and can help defensively. Maybe this off season we will see him working on SS and 2B skills for next season. He has a lot of upside.
  18. Let's quit worrying about every little thing. Past stats in a post season don't mean squat plus Contreras is one of the hottest pitchers in baseball right now.
  19. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 02:21 AM) I was a little upset about Fox picking NY/LAA but then I remembered Joe Buck and Tim McCarver. ::shudder:: If the Sox can get into the World Series and I wouldn't have to listen to McCarver at all this post season that would be two prayers answered.
  20. Now that's how acloser should pitch. Good game Jenks and it's a Sox winner
  21. QUOTE(jamalmanburg @ Oct 1, 2005 -> 08:08 PM) I hate fox. They took the game from wgn for a "national telecast." Meanwhile, I'm in LA watching the yankees kick the crap out of the redsox while listening to the sox on mlb.com. It's not surprising, but still, it's pissing me off. Class move fox. Thanks for taking away my last chance to hear hawk and dj call a game this season. I know your frustration. These networks seem to think the only teams in baseball are the red Sox and Yankees.
  22. I wasn't sure Hermy was going to opt for surgery. Has he or the Sox said that? The question with surgery is how well he heals. However, we do need some more pop, but I hope that 3rd hole is filled with Frank Thomas and Konerko stays with the team in the 4th spot.
  23. Maybe if Ozuna would take the bat off his shoulder he might have a chance to hit the ball? Just an observation there.
  24. Cliff Politte has come into his own this year. He has blown a couple as sometimes he can give up that long ball, but overall he has been real good. This off season what we need is a real closer. Jenks and Politte and Cotts as set up guys and then to somebody that converts.
  25. Thanks for the update. I hope we show some better consistency with RISP. These DP's are sickening.
