This is a leadership issue not a public hanging. I think that Ozzie is right in doing what he is doing. I believe in past years we have had similar situations where nothing at all happened. Marte will get the message and if he is in fact abig leaguer and a team player he will show his remorse by pitching as good as he can. Public humiliation, overreacting, going overborad, etc, is not going to help Marte or the team.

Letting Paul Konerko go would be a mistake just like not keeping Frank Thomas in a Sox uniform would be. I hope that Reinsdorf and Kenny W see the need to keep those guys. If they don't I would be extremely leery of ever listening to another comment about how Jerry is opening up the checkbook to keep a winning team intact.

I just logged on and will probably log right back off. Two or three comments though (1) I am worrieda bout the Tribe. They are playing the same kind of inspired baseball the Sox did the first half. The problem is you ned to be at your best in Sept (2) I hope that El Duckie sits on the bench. We need McCarthy and not a five or less inning starter (3) Where is the hitting?

Good job by Joe B to get that double on a full count. The hit on him before was the K in those situations.

2 nice innings from Bajhah. If Jon had been able to show a pair and Sanders not pitvch we would still be in this game.

Problem for this team all year has been it's failure to consistently hit with runners in scoring position.

I would like to see Borchard starting in place of Carl for a couple games. Let's see what Joe B has learned from this demotion to the minors. Maybe next year we have him and/or Anderson up rather than Everett and a couple others.
