Me too! Me, too. But, even the greatest have some down times. That's all that happened to Loaiza. He will be back next year and might even be better. Hope the whole team is better next year.

I think the OldRoman just needs to vent once in awhile. He seems to listen to everyone else, most of the time, and if he has gone too far usually admits it. He most certainly is a fan of the Big Hurt isn't he?

Can't argue that one. I thought at one time the layers and MLB were thinking about a change to 154 games with expanded playoffs or something like that? What do you think about that idea?

OldRoman, don't let your starry eyes cross everytime you hear about someone other than Frank Thomas. I love the Big Hurt too and he has done very well in the power numbers this year, however, in my opinion the most consistent has been Loaiza, up till the last few games. I think E Lo could easily be 22-8 or so by now with offensive support.

Jon Garland has at times looked simply unhittable and at other times pretty sad. We needed him to step up and pitch well the last two weeks and he didn't. Jerry Manuel can't pitch, run, throw or hit for the Sox players. Not everything can be pinned on Manuel. He has made plenty of questionable managerial decisions no doubt about it, but there are 25 players and a bunch of coaches that need to step up and accept blame also. I don't know what Jon's problems are: won't listen to the coaches and manager? Can't figure out how to control his pitches? No faith in his stuff? $60,000 question with no easy answer.

Bad news for Sox fans
Sweeney has given us fits in the past along with Beltran. I wouldn't think we would go after him as a free agent since we have a good outfield.

Esteban Loaiza
Exactly. I don't know why this was posted. Perhaps just out of frustration. I think with any luck Esteban could have had 22 wins aleady. You play a whole season (162 games) not 2 weeks at the end. Loaiza doesn't deserve this and I'll go farther than that and say that no White Sox player deserves to be called a traitor. I have to believe they wanted to win, but for whatever reason just couldn't produce when it mattered at the end. As much as I hate the Twinkies the bottom line is they wanted to win also and were able to keep our guys flat. The fire just didn't burn high enough to scorch the opposition.

Are we just frustrated?
Interesting points on Mr. Thomas, but I for one hope he stays. I think what he brings to the team in experience and talent are tremendous pluses and I also believe he has tried to show leadership this year more than in the past. Maybe he realizes that in the twilght yeasr of his career he needs to exert that veteran label and motivate the others on the team. I only hope that Frank can see the sense in returning to his past selective hitting style. He can still hit 40 plus homers and drive in over a hundred runs, etc, but a higher batting average and more walks can also be achieved with patience. I think even he admitted in Boston that Walt Hriniak wantd to see more hits instead of swinging for the fences all the time. Like leadership hitting is situational and there are times for the homer and times for the single. Other players on the Sox could learn that too.

Graffy flies out on a full count. You'd like to see some line drives once in awhile. Lots of pop ups, grounders and flys.

If giving up runs means he looked good, then Koch is golden. Genuine imitation 24 karat

Bring old Billy K on, but they probably stick with Flash for one more inning. I saw in the news reports that somebody actually though Koch looked good in his last outing. I didn't see it, but that's what they say...

Good question. I don't remember the last time. I have seen 2 out of 3 being PH's, but not all three.

I am kind of getting the idea of the game from MLB gameday. It seems everytime we get in trouble it's from walks. Walks and more walks. In this case a IBB followed by a walk. What's up with these guys?

Can't argue with you there. The twins series was probably one of the most sickening displays of an inept offensive club that I have seen in quite awhile. For the most oart the starting pitching failed miserably, but the saving grace was the bullpen. Agreed?
