  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 02:12 AM) Couldn't agree more. Between his hip issue last year, and his tightness during ST, Jenks doesn't seem to get the same extension and follow-thru on his pitches. He's basically an offspeed pitcher right now with a fastball that he tries to throw for strikes and set the hitter up. If MacDougal has to become the closer, then we put inexperienced guys like Aardsma or Masset into the set-up spot. Let's just hope that Jenks isn't this year's Shingo/Politte, etc. So far Aardsma and Masset have been great. I know it's early and all...but with those two plus Thornton and Sisco...not a bad situation. Who's to say Jenks couldn't drop back into a setup guy. The Politte comparison really may not be that far off.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 12:46 AM) In a one run game, isn't that the exact point we're arguing? I would hope so. I would also hope KW is pretty pissed off tonight. That was just a pathetic job by Ozzie tonight. Sometimes I'm not sure if he's just bad...or just stubborn as s***.
  3. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 12:34 AM) It's clear your overreacting considering we're only 7 games into the season. No...I'm not. Please read iamshack's responses. He states it perfectly.
  4. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 12:33 AM) so the padding was pushed inwards, creating more of a downward trajectory for the ball when it hit. If it landed directly on his head, he would have been knocked out. This was my favorite. Made me laugh out loud.
  5. QUOTE(iamshack @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 12:28 AM) And one more thing. Ozzie, Kenny, Coop: Simply because it is a save situation does not mean you MUST "insert Bobby here." Please, go with the guy that is throwing it well at the time. Simply because Bobby is the "closer" does not mean he must be inserted into every possible save situation or 9th inning. I don't care if MacDougal is the fifth inning guy for christ's sakes, if he is the one that's hot, by all means, leave him in there. And that goes for ANY pitcher who is throwing the ball extremely well at the time. It is not necessary to put in a struggling Bobby Jenks because he has been termed the closer. That's the issue I have. He did the same crap last year. I don't give a crap if Jenks is deamed "the closer". He scares the s*** outta me ever time he takes the mound now.
  6. I just saw another replay. It DID NOT hit the wall first. Right off the dome.
  7. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 12:18 AM) So it's easier to blame the loss on Pods and Guillen because discussing the elephant in the room would be boring? It seems there are a lot more posters here blaming both of them than Jenks. Now why is that? Oh I'm blaming Jenks too. I'd also like to know who called the pitch sequence to Walker....AJ. And yes, you bet Ozzie gets blame for not putting in defensive replacements in the last inning. Inexusable.
  8. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 12:10 AM) Umm...because there's rubber padding out there and Pods hit the wall at the same time, so the padding was pushed inwards, creating more of a downward trajectory for the ball when it hit. If it landed directly on his head, he would have been knocked out. BWWWAHAHAAAAA....lemme guess. You have tape on the bridge of your glasses?!? Let's get out the 3DBB Mr Wizard! That Bill Nyeish description was great!
  9. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 12:03 AM) The ball hit the wall, then came down and bounced off his head. Do you need glasses? You were on the Warren Commission too with the magic bullet. How does a fly ball hit a wall and drop straight down?!?
  10. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 11:56 PM) Back-to-back plays? You really think he had a legitmate chance to throw Bradley out in that situation? And I guess it's easy to say a catch should've been routine sitting at home watching on the tube. Yes he should have thrown him out. Look at the replay if you have it on tape. An on target throw with a decent arm (which you'd expect from an MLB'er)...he's out at the plate. Routine catch....uhhhh.....yeah. Again...hits you in the gourd...you should catch it. Pathetic. btw...was it necessary to bring Jenks in the way Mac was throwing?
  11. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 11:54 PM) May I ask again why BA is on this team? Erstad probably wouldn't have got Bradley, but wouldn't have mailed AJ. And please Bobby, stop f***ing around with that stupdass slider and cutter. Your fastball and curve are good enough. I blame the offense more than anything He threw a curve to Walker. Dude...why....WHY keep throwing offspead s*** to a slappy piece of crap hitter like Walker?!?!? I haven't felt this sick to my stomach since my Durango got stolen this weekend.
  12. QUOTE(Scwible @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 11:47 PM) Did that damn ball his pods in the head, cause i think it did. Yes... it did. If I wasn't so goddamn mad right now...I'd be laughin' my ass off because that's one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Jesus....unreal.
  13. f***! I was just getting ready to stay stick with the heater here.
  14. Just once let Mac finish it out. Geez-us christ.
  15. QUOTE(shoota @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 10:21 PM) I've been distracted most of the game. How about a recap? Couldn't tear yourself away from American Idol?
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 10:07 PM) Good grief, 5 righty hitters, 5 strike outs. god forbid if any of them think about taking a ball to right.
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 10:07 PM) Good grief, 5 righty hitters, 5 strike outs. god forbid if any of them think about taking a ball to right.
  18. Don't all the California PA announcers sound the same....here, Dodger Stadium, Staples.
  19. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 02:27 PM) So we finally get some depth and some talent at the bullpen, and we are looking at getting rid of it. Uh no. We need to keep every single member of our bullpen, and the associated members at Charlotte. You realize that our bullpen guys, while talented are not the picture of health. So we need to keep the depth. That's what I was thinkin. Trade for what?!?...backup players.
  20. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 10:01 PM) Rumor or not, the divorce can't be the reason his stuff doesn't look near as sharp. Really?!? Ya ever been through one?...with kids involved?!? Sorry...just seems like a really stupid thing to say unless you've ever been in one. They have a MAJOR effect on everything you do...no matter what profession you're in. As for Oz bringin' up somebody's personal life....the dude was just trying to cover Count's back to take a little heat off of him. I think it should have been brought up...it's a big thing.
  21. Other teams crush our pitchers mistakes...we do nothing with them.
  22. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 03:04 PM) Funny how Baltimore had no problem knocking him around and we just f***ing bow down to him and call it a day. I'm also sick of hearing Oz, Hawk and DJ just gush over the Twins. Just wondering...is there gonna be postgame coverage of Hawk and DJ goin down on everybody in the twins lockerroom after the game?
  23. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 04:04 PM) RockRaines postgame awards: Art of Pizza Delivery of the game: Scotty Pods base knock in the 7th Player of the game: Nick Masset 4.2 IP 4 h 1 ER 2k's Incredible job by Masset.
