This was another interesting Sox Commemorative item they had at Castle Boutique...

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 01:21 PM) Whose to say the Angels won't try for both. True...Arte does like to spend the buckos. But do you really think Paulie would be happy being 3rd fiddle behind Vlad and Manny? I couldn't see PK and Manny coexisting very well on any team for very long.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 12:42 PM) The Angels are definately going to be players in the Manny sweepstakes. I don't know if this 3 way deal will work out, but that said the Angels have a couple overpriced guys they could offer for Manny. Garret Anderson would be the guy I'd do everything I could to give up in a Manny deal. Right now they appear focused on moving Erstad, but I think the Angels have both Erstad, Finley and Garret Anderson as options. In fact, If I were Anaheim I'd offer Finley, Erstad, and a good prospect or two for Manny. That or I'd offer Anderson and a quality prospect or two for Manny. Boston seems desperate and if the Angels were smart they'd take this as an opportunity to get the best run producer the game has ever seen as well as unload some of the dumb contracts they handed out. Plus, technically speaking Boston is going to need a CFer and Finley will play better than he did this past year. Erstad is a gritty, solid player so they could fill two holes. Problem is thats a lot of money for them to take on, but in the long run they'd save a lot. The rumor has it being a 3-way...and the names of Glaus and Gonzo I'm sure would be involved. Not sure why the Angels would consider a 3-way when they have plenty to dump themselves. So if you were the Angels and could dump some salary and land Manny instead of giving PK $14M per...what would you rather do?

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 11:21 AM) My question/concern is this. Last offseason was a a little different than last year. We really dont have that many holes that need to be filled. Its nice to spend the money in 3 or 4 different areas, but we dont need many to be filled. We get a 1b and DH(not cheap positions) and were pretty much set. We shall see what happens. Durazo would be an interesting and affordable option. Didn't Jermaine have some health concerns coming into this year? Durazo just has never lived up to his potential for some reason...maybe he's due to break out soon.

To all circle jerk each with big ol' reacharounds and land Manny in Anaheim!!!!!
-
QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 04:36 PM) Any chance he could play first base if Paulie goes? Or is that something the White Sox would never look at doing again? Judging by the action on that First Pitch Frank threw out....I'd say nyet.

Any thought of hearing Joe Buck's voice every time my phone rings makes me cringe!
-
QUOTE(Frank the Tank 35 @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 04:30 PM) I don't think the D'backs trade Tracy either. But he's not gonna be playing at third... his defense there is definitely lacking. Did ya see him play any RF where they stuck him?!?...Good Lord...it was almost comical. 3rd is his natural position...albeit, he's no Ventura or anything.
-
QUOTE(qwerty @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 04:15 PM) Overbay is overated on this board immensely... rather annoying actually. I know the diamonbacks have a log jam at first and third but tracy is far and away their best hitter for the money. I see them trying to trade basically everyone and anyone else on that team before him. Thank you! I can't see why everybody has such a woody for this guy. And in my opinion...there's NO WAY the DBack part with Tracy...NONE! Their infield soon will look like Tracy at 3rd, Drew at SS, Cintron at 2nd and Conner Jackson at 1B. But their pitching pretty much sucks.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 03:49 PM) I just hope this Gload bandwagon ceases to exist in threads like this. The Official Ross Gload Bandwagon

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) It's all Paul's fault, haven't we been over this? Actually it's AJ's fault...he's the club cancer that turned everybody on PK.

I think Oz may be kissin PK g'bye here. I definately still do the last one.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 02:23 PM) Has no one learned yet, even after the World Series, that $$$ does not necessarily equal WWW? No it doesn't...but a World Series winner = more $$$. And hasn't that been a big b**** for a long time...not having the $$$. Kenny has proven that he knows how to build a winner...and that chemisty is equally as important. We'll never see KW and Jerry take on an albatros like Manny...but having more $$$ due to a series win could prove very beneficial. Milk it while you can.
-
QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 02:25 PM) What's that?
-
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 02:12 PM) So be it. Then leave it to Gload, or maybe Rogo. I still think we need to consider our own resources before spending a ton of new money. Give them a shot. Replace PK with Gload or Rogo?!?.....mkaaaay. Glad Kenny's makin the decisions here. What sucks for the Sox in terms of the PK situation is that it's such a s*** year for FAs. I'm not overly sold on Overbay either...plus...he's only a year younger than PK.

QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 11:06 AM) Why would NBC mind they need as much exposure as they can get Ain't that the truth! That show is absolutely TEEEEEERRIBLE (said in a Bill Walton voice).

If I recall...alot of people wanted him to sell the team the past few years. Anyway...kudos for going with Kenny when Dan Evans was a more logical choice. Kudos for bringing in Ozzie...when it was obvious that Ghandi Manual's ways weren't working. Hopefully...we'll keep it going. KW seems fired up and not satisfied with just one...which I love! Thank you Jerry!..Thank you Kenny...Thank you Ozzie...Thank you the entire White Sox orginization for putting an exclamation point on one of THE BEST years of my life EVER!!!! Between the Fighting Illini this past year...the Bulls finally putting it together....the White Sox becoming World Champs...do I dare say the Bears make a run here?!?....naaaaaaah. NOTHING could dampen my feelings right now...I'm still on such a high...it's not even funny!!! BRING ON THE SPRING!!!!

QUOTE(chisox72 @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 07:20 PM) I agree!!! We never saw this loose, fun, and comical version of Joe Crede ever! Now its almost like he is not shy anymore, nor does he shy away from any attention. I think AJ may have just taught him not to give a s*** and just PLAY! BIG TIME!!! I think that AJ...as well as ARow was the major reason for Joe coming out of his shell. I swear....I don't even recognize him as the same person that started the beginning of the year or last year. He seems like a completely different player...more confident...more relaxed...and I do believe AJ was a MAJOR factor in this.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) writing a professional letter and using the words "boobs" and "pissed" will usually hurt your credibility. Just a thought.... True. But at least I got it off my chest. and for what nitetrain said...I haven't stopped celebratin' yet!!! WORLD CHAMPS BABY!!!

But man...their coverage SUCKED ASS! Even though we had to endure Berman on ESPN...it was still better than Fox...that's why it was so great the Sox stuck it up everybody's ass!!!! So I had to vent at them for my sake...via email. Here's what I sent. My God...that was THE WORST series I've ever witnessed in terms of coverage and announcers (and I'm a White Sox fan). From pre-game people, to post game...to those complete BOOBS Joe Buck and McCarver. Fox pays a boatload of money for these events only to have people like Buck and McCarver completely butcher them. My father still lives in IL...and he said the people back there are so pissed at Buck and McCarver right now...they should probably NEVER go to that city again. Between production, inane cartoon characters which were insulting...to the constant complaining of Buck and McCarver that the calls FOR the Sox have completely screwed the other teams...it was embarrassing...I was embarrassed for your network. Jesus Christ...if you guys spent as much time on the grassy knoll in Dallas we'd probably know who killed JFK!!!! Absolutely atrocious job by Fox...and personally...you should give up your rights to cover MLB...because you've handled it with complete unprofessionalism and tried to ruin a euphoric moment for the Chicago White Sox (albeit failed in that regard). You should be embarrassed by your coverage. If you want to point at ratings...maybe you should associate the poor ratings with your poor coverage and complete buffoonery in the broadcast booth. My suggestion to you...let NBC have baseball back....you guys obviously can't handle it! Sincerely....

So many great moments during the rally...but I gotta tell ya...when I got the most pumped is when Paulie mentioned doing it next year! I know it doesn't mean squat right now...but to me...it was a small signal (and maybe I'm grasping at straws here)...that Paulie WANTS to be back next year!!!! Also...when Paulie said that...KW started pointing at him saying something (wish I knew what)! Come on Kenny...get it done!!!
-
Do you think it's possible that Sox hit 3M?!? The carryover will be amazing IMO. Spring Training will be nuts this year too!!!!
-
Hawk was f***in' AWESOME!!!
-
QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 02:06 PM) I was watching the parade today, and they showed those epic montages of all the clips from past and present, and the triumphant music as the Sox won the World Series, as well as old Hawk up there getting everybody rowded up, and it hit me like a ton of bricks. The White Sox. World Champions. My God. And I cried. Damn RIGHT. I am so proud of this team, and I LOVE this team. Now let's get Paulie resigned and go get em' next year!!!! My feelings EXACTLY!!!

Crede MUST BE BACK!!! The evolution of Joe Crede this year was amazing....and like Hawk said...AJ had ALOT to do with with....The 3 Stooges!!! GOD I can't wait for ST already!!!!!
