  1. Pasquatch continues to have a season to forget
  2. As a Tim Anderson fan, I am here for JRam slander
  3. Remember in the Ventura era when basically every base hit to score a run with two outs ended up with an out on the bases? And we'd try to tell ourselves they were just trying to ensure the run scored by getting hung out to dry
  4. Finally gets one to drop even if he had to put a dumb little cherry on top
  5. From the get-go, part of Colson's game has been that his mis-hits are somewhat frequently that perfect combo of low exit velo and launch angle to fall in for a hit.
  6. Colson didn't want to get his face in the way of that ball
  7. Sam obviously got close to catching it but I'm not 100% sure that it was a routine catch either. Just a lucky hit coming after a bunch of walks
  8. Some folks around here need therapy and if I have to give it, then so be it!
  9. Pawol ranks near, but not at, the bottom of umpire accuracy. She's not a full-time MLB umpire, she's just one of the AAA umps who gets called up to replace injured/ill/resting MLB umps. The system for those minor league umpires is totally metric and merit-based. It's a hard job and the people who are best at it are mostly already in the majors full time.
  10. I'm guessing the scouting report said that Thomas doesn't get the ball in quickly.
  11. Not that mad at Sam and not that mad at Noah. Sometimes you give up runs. We will all survive it. Sam is a work in progress in the outfield but really not too bad out there. I can see in the metrics that he makes some reasonably high difficulty plays even if he sometimes fails to make ones that he should.
  12. If these are the worst of Noah's growing pains, then he's gonna be great. They really just aren't seeing him well at all, just gotta manage those periods where he loses his release. I'd rather see him out there than anyone besides Davis.
  13. Real tough break for Noah, but the breaks are toughest when there are free baserunners. I'm happy he was able to start throwing strikes again, though.
  14. Seems like just about every game Noah has lost his command for a bit at some point. Hope he gets it back.
  15. Medical emergency in the stadium says Schriff
  16. Ozzie's whole purpose on TV is saying crazy stuff in Spanglish. He is not Bill Melton

  19. Need to give up a run so Mune has a chance to extend his series-opener-home-run streak
  20. Hill won't be going anywhere

  22. Moral victory with Quero hitting a ball in the air to the pull side
  23. Right and I'm guessing that perhaps his arm wasn't feeling up to it for whatever reason even though it seems like he should feel okay.
  24. One of the challenges for the Sox is that the other team is better than them. This isn't always an insurmountable obstacle though, so we'll see how it goes.
