  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 30, 2013 -> 03:50 PM) a legitimate go-to guy would've been nice to have today. Bulls used to have one. That was before his recent sex change. Yeah, like Marco. What the f*** is his problem, man? Oh, did you mean Rip?
  2. Bad loss. Jimmy with the choke at the FT line and the defensive scheme on the GW shot by Dirk was stupid. Not face guarding Dirk is just horrible.
  3. QUOTE (Reddy @ Mar 30, 2013 -> 02:36 PM) should i respond here or there? because methinks you don't have a great understanding of nutrition if you're not worried about the longterm effects of GMOs Everything has been genetically modified for a century plus -- so what specifically has you concerned?
  4. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 30, 2013 -> 01:59 PM) Brewers going with a pitcher an inning also. Makes sense.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 30, 2013 -> 01:01 PM) I'll raise this issue again; it's entirely possible that Garza has reached a point where he'd be terrible if he were moved back to guard. Not only has it been several years since he played there, but his play at center has been trending down. That's a good point. It's also possible that we will try to get him out of the lineup entirely.
  6. All of my correct picks (Oregon) are brilliant, all of my wrong ones (Indiana) were bulls*** and I got screwed
  7. There was a discussion about this tucked into the Financial News thread QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 29, 2013 -> 09:30 AM) This happened when you weren't looking, btw. QUOTE (farmteam @ Mar 29, 2013 -> 11:11 AM) I keep reading that it "protects Monsanto from litigation" without seeing how it protects them. I'd want to see that before getting worked up. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 29, 2013 -> 11:45 AM) as soon as I saw that Snopes had a piece on it, i figured that aws a better explanation than anything I could find elsewhere. QUOTE (farmteam @ Mar 29, 2013 -> 12:07 PM) Still pretty vague sounding. It's not like it prevents constitutional challenges to this act, though. QUOTE (Jake @ Mar 29, 2013 -> 12:16 PM) Yeah, I have no problem with it. The consequences of stopping the use of these seeds with little notice would be tremendous. It doesn't prevent the legal challenge, just prevents the court from banning its use during the proceedings. IMO, we will never find a decent shred of evidence against GMO farming. There are still some concerns about how Monsanto conducts business, but I fully believe that genetically modifying crops is not something that will come back and bite us and very well may actually be something that saves/extends the life of humanity.
  8. FGCU was extremely fun to watch. They lost today to a team that was a lot better than them, but they held their own. Their attitude and style of play was a blast, I'm glad they made it so far. I hope they can get some better players in there and let that coach keep that vision going.
  9. QUOTE (kev211 @ Mar 30, 2013 -> 12:34 AM) Anyone who thinks the cubs wouldn't survive outside of wrigley is delusional. Their massive fan base would easily support them in a new stadium. They'd draw so much more people from the northern suburbs. I'd actually be afraid if they moved. New facilities would do a lot of things for that franchise. Then again the white sox would technically be the only team inside the city then. Agree, would be a short term problem and a huge long term gain. The Yankees aren't the perfect comp because people never got so pissed in the first place, but yeah they're fine.
  10. The way I see it is this -- they were always going to keep him. He's never going to cost more than this, this is his peak value. He very well could have hurt himself before the end of the current contract though and remained on the Tigs for a far lower price. So in my mind, even if Justin remains just as good, they are paying as much as fathomably possible to have him do that. They have also vastly increased the chance that this is a tremendous waste of money, even if that chance isn't tremendously high.
  11. While Dunn is no speedster, he is in a whole other league from Paulie. The only person whose speed was even in the ballpark was AJ and AJ was still much faster than PK

  13. This is gonna be a fun summer -- it's always a grind, even for the fans. April and May are especially tough on us, because we are really going to want to assume that what we see happening through the first 20-60 games is what will happen later...when it will of course only be partially the case. Love this game!
  14. QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 29, 2013 -> 02:48 AM) I'd love to make this a keeper league. I would too, but we obviously don't have a ton of time to get feedback and make the change. It really helps keep everyone interested and invested, even if your current season isn't working out. "See, you could be the Royals and rebuild for 10 years and maybe get predicted to get 2nd place one season!"
  15. QUOTE (kev211 @ Mar 28, 2013 -> 04:44 PM) Btw the bulls have now beaten the heat 3 times without Derrick rose in the lineup. In fact they're now 3-1 vs them when he does not play. I think the way we run offense works much better without Derrick (against the Heat) With Derrick = stand around while Derrick dribbles and maybe he'll pass it if necessary Without Derrick = sans any primary scorer, move the ball around and wait for weaknesses in the defense to present themselves
  16. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 29, 2013 -> 12:01 AM) It's fun to watch Tom Crean get all worked up and lose. Kind of hard to plan for Syracuse when they come at you with a zone defense out of nowhere. lol
  17. When we meddle with who occupies the office of head of state in other countries, it usually blows up in our face
  18. QUOTE (farmteam @ Mar 28, 2013 -> 11:14 PM) The problem is, suppose IU only makes the first or second round the next three years. I'd want him gone. But the fact that he brought the program back (or has come damn close) will probably buy him at least two extra years. Yep. Making them relevant again will buy him lots of time.
  19. I really don't believe IU can win a title with Crean as their coach. Total waste of talent this year and with the likely loss of Zeller, they may never get this much again.
  20. Embarrassing. The reputation of the B1G now rests with OSU, MSU, and Michigan
  21. What the hell is Hulls wearing under his jersey?
  22. They look completely without a plan against the zone
  23. They've made IU look like a team that lacks offensive talent.
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 28, 2013 -> 09:43 PM) And like that its 11. Indiana can do these scoring bursts but they need to make their bleeping shots and stop turning it over. That was a good play by Zeller knowing to get rid of it
  25. Oladipo and MJ have lots in common. For instance, they're both basketball players
