  1. Let's wait for a hit before we pull the plug on Liriano, lol
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 01:28 PM) Liriano has a 5.04 ERA with the Sox. 90% of his problems are mental, along with finding a consistent release point. Unfortunately, they can't give Floyd and Liriano BOTH $5 million and hope one of them excels. I'd still go with Liriano...Gavin's just never done it consistently, and he's had 2009, 10, 11 and 12 to prove himself. 2008 - 3.84 ERA, 206 IP 2009 - 4.06 ERA, 193 IP 2010 - 4.08 ERA, 187 IP 2011 - 4.37 ERA, 193 IP That's really a very good run, and Liriano has showed no ability to do something like that. If you had to pick one at the same price (we know Gavin's price), it's easily Gavin. If they were both cheap, MAYBE you take a chance on Liriano instead. Also consider our "need" for a righty. However, I don't mind bringing back both. We'll probably take a look at trying to bring Peavy back at Gavin's price, but who knows if that will work or if we'll want to do it.
  3. Haven't been in game thread, but at least Franky is making things interesting
  4. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 14, 2012 -> 02:15 PM) finally, there are pictures of boobs on the internet. about damn time.
  5. Rodney always had unreal stuff, it always blew my mind that he wasn't more successful
  6. Marinez has some great stuff. I think he'll be much better than Omogrosso.
  7. As far as momentum goes, I don't think it comes into play much in the conventional sense in baseball. I think offenses can help each other and hurt each other, but the starting pitcher (most important individual) is impervious to the changes in momentum.
  8. Gavin looked phenomenal last time out, I hope he can keep it up next time and deeper into the ballgame.
  9. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 10:40 PM) So you saying Cutler played weell but everyone else on offense sucked...ok No. He didn't play well at all, but the rest of the offense could have made this game close. Hard to say what happens from there if some of those catches and/or blocks were made. This was a total team loss on offense. No one played at an acceptable level with the exception of possibly Michael Bush. What remains true is that Jay Cutler is by far the best QB in the history of this franchise.
  10. QUOTE (G&T @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 10:36 PM) They were fine running and just refused to keep doing it. All those early drives we kept passing on first down and either getting nothing or a loss of yards. Then we'd run based on how bad the passing plays looked. We need to start running on first down so we can have a positive play to start the series. The Packers D isn't good btw, but their strengths are exactly what our weaknesses are. They know how to blitz and scheme and take chances for turnovers. We've never had an offense that is good at capitalizing on aggressive defenses like that.
  11. Just pitch everyone in order, get all the wins you can.
  12. Time to forget this one. Come out this next game running the ball with Michael Bush and it'll make everyone else look better
  13. Gameplan today was just horrible. We've been in "pass only" mode for basically the entire game and our line may not be as bad as it looks, but it isn't good enough to be obviously passing this entire game.
  14. Blatant unnecessary roughness against Hester
  15. Maybe we'll come out of this game having learned something. Maybe.
  16. Thanks for stopping the clock Rodgers
  17. There are some moments of comedy gold on 670
  18. I don't really give a s*** about Kellen Davis. The top 3/4 receivers need to start coming through
  19. Marshall didn't look back to the ball soon enough
  20. Play calling is not good. Maybe we should have hired an offensive coordinator that has called plays before.
  21. I thought good quarterbacks don't yell at receivers when they f*** up?
