Sale vs Price
Any pitcher can get hurt. I think either one could have a major injury, either one may not. Sale me please.

2012-2013 NBA thread
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 04:42 PM) It was the heat defense collapsing on Rose and doubling him when he had the ball. They focused their entire defense on shutting Rose down. And it worked, because the Heat D is pretty damn good. And it didnt help that Korver couldnt hit a shot to save his life Derrick in that series needed to learn to be a point guard. He had trouble running the offense. Sure, a SG that was a true scorer would have helped but when it came down to it between the coaches and the point guard we just quit moving the ball and had Rose try to create by himself whenever the play mattered. We have good catch and score players like Luol and great post passers in Boozer and Noah and none of those things were utilized. Sure, Korver missed some shots, but the sets were so predictable. Ball didn't move in that series -- we basically tried to out-superstar them with our 1 against their 3...of course that wouldn't work. This is why sometimes we'd see us go on runs w/o Derrick in the game...without him on the court everyone was more willing to move the ball because they weren't taking the ball out of the hand of the high-volume shooter. I really think we had a chance to beat the Heat this year and the Heat only confirmed it with how close they played some of those series. We will never know though because our backcourt was never healthy once all year and we probably won't see those two together ever again. It'd be nice if Rip had a revival this year but it's wishful thinking to think Derrick will recover enough for it to matter (this season). And I think we'd have to win a championship to see Rip in a Bulls uni after next season.

QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 03:16 PM) Detroit and Cleveland gain another game on us. s*** Funny how the two rookie pitchers lead us to victories. And the two veteran pitchers lead us towards losses. It's not really their fault but its just funny how things work. With this stacked lineup its embarrassing that we can't score runs. Somebody pinpoint what the hell is the matter with this team? And don't say we got beat by a good pitcher, thats not a valid excuse. The handedness of our lineup cost us dearly today. Two righties for us hit what would be bombs anywhere else while Eric Chavez hit a bomb that would not be a bomb nowhere else.

I agree that we haven't always treated him the best, but he absolutely should have been a full-time regular in the MLB in LF this year. Going from RF to LF should not truly constitute a "position change" in the sense that you should expect him to do worse on offense. A lot of players have no problems with hitting regardless of their defensive role, period. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for some of these past position changes, but this year it was just early in the season and he was getting a harsher look from advance scouts, etc.

Unless you absolutely rape a trade partner, the point is that you don't get the type of run producer that we expect to get from Dayan. It's not that you don't get anything back for him, it's that what he is/is becoming is very difficult to replace.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:20 PM) He's not getting to pitches on the outer half either. Face it, he swings as hard as he f***ing can. God knows if he picks up the spin on any of these pitches. Funny thing to say about a guy who hits the majority of his homers on offspeed pitches

QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:19 PM) Really? To me it seems like Viciedo is vulnerable to high fastballs and anything thats away. One of few pitches he hit early this year and previously was the outside fastball because he tried to take it to the opposite field. I have been b****ing about his inability to hit inside fastballs for a while now but it seems he's going up there ready to cover that.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 02:14 PM) Because he's incredibly gifted physically. Doesn't guarantee he's going to make the adjustments he needs to be a great MLB player, which is what Marty and I have been arguing. He is showing very little ability to adjust his approach, regardless of MLB experience. This is the biggest indicator there is when evaluating very good young hitters. I have seen him make adjustments?? What you're seeing today is the result of an adjustment. He's trying to catch on to the inside fastball and it's hurting his ability to hit the outside fastball. He's also getting more patient, far more selective than he was just a couple months ago. I think expectations are too high for how quickly he should adjust. He's been very productive, just learn to love it.

If Gavin can have a good outing against this left-handed Yankees team in Yankee Stadium, that will be undeniable proof that he is back.

My problem with Ben Gordon was that he was a ridiculously bad and low effort defender. I accept that you may need an offensive player like him (not the best, but good) but this team doesn't want guys like him that don't play any defense.
