October 23, 201213 yr Three previous times (1988, 2006, 2007) has there been one LCS sweep & one LCS 7-game series. All 3 times the team that won the 7-game series went on to win the World Series in 5 games or less. Hopefully that trend continues. f*** Detroit.
October 23, 201213 yr Rest vs. Rust....let's go rust! f*** Detroit (last night and tonight) Giants have been playing out of their minds against much stiffer competition, hope that plays into it.
October 23, 201213 yr If the Giants plan on winning this series, they need to win before their elimination games... Because when you run into Justin Verlander, bad things will happen.
October 23, 201213 yr I would not be surprised if Verlander gets smacked around by the likes Pagan, Scutaro and Sandoval. Watching Scurtaro mash ball after ball and Sandoval being an RBI machine was enjoyable. The Giants are just the better team period. However, I know the saying... anything can happen in the postseason. GO YOU FUGGIN' SF GIANTS!
October 24, 201213 yr Hopefully the Tigers complete the deal, but the NL has had the AL's number lately in the WS. If Detroit wins, they may be complacent next season which will help the Sox and any other contenders in our division.
October 24, 201213 yr QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 23, 2012 -> 10:09 PM) Hopefully the Tigers complete the deal, but the NL has had the AL's number lately in the WS. If Detroit wins, they may be complacent next season which will help the Sox and any other contenders in our division. I doubt they get complacent, but some of their pitchers could get tired arms, like the 2006 Sox.
October 24, 201213 yr QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Oct 23, 2012 -> 09:23 PM) Detroit's Achilles heel is their defense. That will cost them this series. I'd like nothing better than to see a defensive meltdown behind Verlander in Game 1.
October 24, 201213 yr I wish the Giants had let Melka Cabrera back on the roster after his suspension ended. Even pre-steroids, he was still a better hitter than the other options SF will be throwing out there.

October 25, 201213 yr Cable is out in my area, so I have to listen to this via radio, but this WS is so glorious that I'm taking the trouble to post this via phone. lmao, Justin Verlander. You just managed to let an opposing player join an exclusive category that has Babe Ruth, Reggie Jackson, and Albert Pujols in it. Obviously that period of inactivity the Tigers had worked out perfectly work for SF.
