  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 06:48 PM) Blue Jays are close to having 4 homers so far. Close, but no cigar. Richard's done alright since that first miss. He's actually hit some spots.
  2. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 06:42 PM) I just got home, how did the jays score? leadoff bomb.

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 10:34 AM) I'd love to see Depp as the Riddler. I never was a fan of the Penguin character. I don't know if I would like this series of Batman films to go down the path like the previous series with multiple villains. Clogs things up IMO. I agree completely. I'm interested in Depp as the Riddler, but I do not like the penguin character at all. I'm also with you that multiple villains aren't necessary or desired.
  4. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 04:42 PM) He is hitting .228 I suppose the fact that he hit the walk off home run in the extra inning game and had a nice game Saturday alleviates the .228 average becasue he does draw the timely walk. Nick Swisher is not a good hitter. To get called out on strikes like he has tells me he is not a good hitting. I suppose the singing and the dancing make up for it though. The line Hawk uses "Don't tell me what you do, tell me when you do it," could be the dumbest line ever. A .330 hitter is more useful than a .230 hitter no matter when they get the big hit. Sorry to hurt your feelings by thinking Nick Swisher sucks because I really think he does and the .228 batting average and below average defense back me up. OPS!!!1!11!ONE!!

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Sep 8, 2008 -> 08:00 PM) Johnny Depp and Phillip Seymour Hoffman as the Riddler and Penguin? Two extremely talented actors, I can't picture it just yet, but they could probably pull it off with the all the talent between the two.
  6. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 8, 2008 -> 10:24 AM) This is the way I understand it: You are eligible for the post-season roster if you were on the 25 man roster (including the DL) on Aug 31. So, for example, Contreras and Crede are eligible. Now, since Crede may be done for the year, the active roster for the playoffs would only have 24 guys plus 1 (Crede) who is on the DL. Since that is the case we have one open spot which can be filled by any person who was on the Sox's 40 man roster on Aug 31. That was how K-Rod was eligible several years ago. Its a loophole to the rule. I thought you could only replace DL'ed players with players of the same position.
  7. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 12:00 AM) http://cbs2chicago.com/local/chicago.summe...s.2.810166.html wow. is it currently safer to be a US troop in Iraq than a citizen of our fine city? I don't know for sure, but I don't think there are nearly as many soldiers in Iraq as people in Chicago.
  8. Swisher didn't swing because he was fooled by the movement of the pitches, not because they were actually balls.
  9. QUOTE (tommy @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 03:50 PM) Swisher is just a bad hitter, he can walk, and has power, but shouldn't be up, trying to bring a guy home from 2nd. Griff should have hit in that spot.
  10. Swish, who is normally better off with the bat on his shoulder anyway.
  11. QUOTE (daa84 @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 03:48 PM) K-rod with as good of a change up today as ive seen him have...throw that in there with the slider and fastball he has...filthy That's one of the nastiest changes I've seen.
  12. That changeup was just filthy. If he wants to throw all his stuff for strikes, nobody will have a chance.
  13. Alright great job Liney. Wasn't hit hard at all, wouldn't have deserved a run had he given one up.
  14. If liney makes an out here it'll be really big for him and us.
  15. Can't always come back at 100% right away.
  16. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 02:42 PM) That last pitch to hunter wasnt that bad. It was well enough away and wasn't that high. It wasn't a B pitch, but it was good enough. The only problem I have is listening to the mumbling tool Hawk. If a young guy makes a mistake, he harps on it for like 2 or more innings almost scolding him. If a vet makes the same mistake, its the silent treatment. I never see him break down a Mark Buerhle start showing replays of one pitch and scolding him for not nutting up. Agreed. It's only a bad pitch when the batter knows its coming.
  17. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 02:41 PM) Every time I watch Carrasco pitch, I wonder how the hell he keeps getting guys out. Ha, I just don't understand it. Location, speed differential, movement. Such an easy game.
