By the way, I just want to applaude you guys for keeping your collective cool in this thread. I think we can make this a positive discussion. -

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 04:57 PM) I agree with you SS2K5, but can't we do something about this? What if we as a board posted some things about ballpark etiquette. Maybe this board can help educate the younger generation. We can't help the casual fan here, but we can help the younger ones and they can teach their friends. I am very shocked at the posts on this board and thought that our fans had more consideration for others. I guess I was wrong. Unfortunately, I think the answer is: no. There isn't much you can do. The type of folk incapable of following simple public etiquette are not apt to change. SSI, I think it comes down to the fact that there are always rotten apples. You know? Perhaps if you were sitting in a different section you would have had an entirely different expierence. That said, I'm not trying to diminish your complaint; your complaint sounds as valid as they come, but I think you know what direction I was going for. -

Remember the Chicago Stadium? That joint policed itself. If you tried to exit an aisle while there was play on-ice, you got your ass handed to you. Loved it. -

I f***ing love this team. -
QUOTE(Spod=Ratings @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 09:50 AM) i dotn really like jolley i think Heath miller would of been perect for the jets. Miller is going to be the better TE in the NFL, but the Jets also grab a second rounder and two sixth rounders. That's a good deal. They could still grab Alex Smith of Stanford in the 2nd round if they wish or a guy like Joe Dreesssen from Col. St. in the sixth.
-
I know the Jets really wanted to grab a TE, so this might be one of those rare cases where both teams go home happy. If the Raiders think they can get someone at pick 26, then it's a good deal all around.

I can't stand either of those ass clowns.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 08:32 AM) I have been thinking long and hard about what is different with Jon this year. We all know he isnt going to wni 20 games. BUt he seems to have alot of things together including what pitch to throw in what count, and which pitches will give him ground balls to which batter. Im not sure if anybody has suggested it yet, but I think alot of his development goes to the man who has caught him through this year. I know Widger caught last night, but I believe that alot of the strategy behind his pitching is AJ. I think that AJ taught him a couple of situational tips that has led to a more effective Jon. There is a reason why he is throwing ground balls more often, and is making good pitchers pitches in certain situations. I think AJ's effect is felt more than at the plate. No doubt.

Pitchers' duel. Sox win a 14 minute game. 2-1. Willie "Hall of Fame" Harris goes yard TWICE. -
QUOTE(JimH @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 07:28 PM) What happened to Garciaparra? He went down HARD and fast after hitting a ball at the plate. As he went to run down the first base line, he took a really akward stride and appeared to do some damage to his groin. He couldn't even get up. He just layed two feet away from the plate.

Wow!!! Hats off to Jon Garland. The Tigs didn't have a chance tonight. As for the flubbies, let's hope Nomar isn't hurt badly. As much as I loath that club, you never wanna see a guy go down to injury like that.
-
Cotts!? Aw, Ozzie. :headshake
-
Let's get that CG Jon! 3-0! Leave him in Ozzie.

Crede 11 game hitting streak. Big HR Joe!!! I love it. EDIT: Sox with 20 HR on the season. Paulie the league leader in HRs. Yup, no power.

QUOTE(shagar69 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 06:24 PM) Your in the C-U right? What channel is the game on? We were on 69 during the Cub rain-out, but the game just got moved over to 21. I'm just about to make the switch myself. EDIT: Naturally, 21 is blacked out. We are SOL pal, sorry.
-
Jermaine with a huge night (even though he got caught in YET another pickle). 2 more come across.
-
Paulie with a ground-rule double. Hawk with a "Dat Gummit!"
-
That'll get the job done! 15 RBI For Crazy! 4-1 Good guys.
