I set off fireworks

Some will say that it is a token ring for Frank but it is not....this man helped us win THIS YEAR....without the huge contributions we got from him over the summer, maybe we don't hold off CLE in September....he was a real part of this team and he deserves this ring not as a parting gift but as a real tribute to his contributions this 2005 CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON
-
He scooped everything in every part of the dirt this year, but going into the stands was a helluva surprise and somethin we aint seen from him yet thiis year....he simply kicks too much ass to put into words, hell yeah URIBE
-
Like the commercial earlier in the year said, you need the department of immigration to keep track of these guys. It struck me earlier in the series how one of the coolest things about the Sox is their diversity. The Astros are a team of mostly white dudes while the Sox are represented by white folk, black folk, a Japanese, Dominicans, Venezualans....the list goes on and on. to Ozzie for making all these different people like and respect each other

So, did anyone place any pre-season wagers?

A few years ago I bet my buddy who is a Cubs fan on who would win the WS first....we started at like 50 bucks and added i think like 20% a year Too bad the Sox couldn't have waited a couple decades more to get this done -
QUOTE(HineyBird @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 11:56 AM) During these playoffs I've come to two solid conclusions 1) The beer tastes better watching the sox in the playoffs 2) You can drink at lot more when you have something to do the next day and then you pay for it at work with massive dumps and the bubble guts As a correlarly, as Ozzie said "Beer tastes better when you win" Gettin DRUNK tonight.....YES

QUOTE(HineyBird @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 10:51 AM) yup. who order pizza? Go make me a banana conac b**** Correction: I had sex with Katie too

QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 07:06 AM) Another f***ing bulls*** Mariotti article http://www.suntimes.com/output/mariotti/cst-spt-jay26.html I didn't actually read it yet, but I'm certain it is and I want to be the first to say it. It is a race isn't it? Since Blum, our only trade pick up during the season, stepped up in the largest game of the year, now Mariotti has gotta retract the s***-talking he did against KW....somehow Kenny knew everything man, even the previously-s*** utility guy we settled for at the trade deadline has played large in this 2005 championship season. -
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 06:43 PM) I am almost willing to say Koch/Thriller bad, but I'm not sure anyone can be that bad. The days of Koch and the Thriller seem like a whole century ago right about now huh to that

Gooch has been a solid pinch hitter in his limited opportunities this season... I remember a PH game-tying HR against Texas, wasn't it? You want someone exactly like the Gooch pinch hitting in key situations - good contact hitter who can put the ball anywhere w/power to all fields. At one point in the season somethin like 12 out of 14 of his HR's either tied the game or gave the Sox the lead.

He just picked the Sox to win the series on Around the Horn...it's only taken 7 months and 108 wins. The Rally Crede eats Hiney birds for breakfast lunch and dinner. -
rather funny rant I made on my sox e-newsletter

I bet you got some good stock tips? -
The Lidge one is good, but he can't give up a walk-off home run at home...

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 03:28 PM) Yes, but you still have to show your ticket like 2 more times beyond the front gate. What does this thief do once he gets inside to get to his section and seat without a ticket? I suppose he could drop them from anywhere in the park and decide to stand on the concourse or just keep moving for the entire game, but that's a lot of work and would take away from his fun at the game. You're right though, this is a piece of s*** we're talking about, so anything is possible. Yeah that was my thinking too. They don't enforce s*** in the upper deck during the season, but cmon, this is the World Series, they oughta get their act together for this very reason. I should've just gotten the hint: I'm not a rich white executive looking to be seen so I obviously had no business attending a World Series game
-
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 12:41 PM) WOW, man. That really, really sux. What kind did he sell you, print outs?...or the colorful ones? I guess the ideal situation is like some else said, find someone who has an extra and walk to the gate with them. They looked the s*** man, the tickets had tons of watermarks and everything looked in place in terms of the graphics themselves. Earlier in the day some joker tried to sell us some ticketmaster tickets with "White Sox vs. Astros" on them,...obviously those were fake and so we said f*** off, but the ones we bought were spot on. Someone went to an AWFUL lot of effort to replicate those....that person will rot in hell along with the piece of s*** that sold em
-
I unforunately have a s***tier experience to tell about. Me and my friends got duped and bought some counterfit tix for 300 a pop....just two of them....thank God we didn't buy the game 2 tix this asshole was selling too. They really looked the s***, all day I was glancing at the tickets people were wearing in those plastic holders around their necks. Whoever made these fakes really knew what they were doing I guess. We drew straws to see who would get em around game time when we couldn't find another 2 (there were 4 of us total) and I was "lucky"....now I'm out 300 bucks.
-
QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 09:30 AM) I heard some people called ticketmaster like a half hour early asking questions about concerts and stuff basically stalling till 12:00 and then being the first to buy sox tickets. :finger DOH ....why didn't I think of that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tried that and even 1/2 hour before they went on sale, every damn line in the country was already busy....and I thought I was so smart.

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/playoffs2005...erry&id=2192843 What a stud. His plate discipline is so improved this season....the Angels just can't pitch to him, period.
-
Nobody has mentioned that even though LA has 3 catchers, that it was a questionable move to start both Molina brothers, one as the DH, because it does leave your catching situation thin...there is a reason Paul was a 3rd string catcher and only played in 30 something games...maybe Scioscia shoulda made sure he had a good player behind the plate.
-
Quinlann made a helluva play, and this team got where it is by being aggressive. Sometimes they got too aggressive, like the play we're talking about...however, over the long haul and in the playoffs, it's gonna pay off erring on the side of being too aggressive rather than too conservative. Joey still made a mistake because there were no outs, but please, the guy doesn't need to be FIRED for it.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 12:31 PM) dude, I will take 2, check your PM's I'll take the other two....I sent you a PM.

QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 10:08 AM) Gee Lefty.. who pissed in your Cheerios this morning... Obviously you don't like that stuff.. but maybe you can think of others as you get your stupid ALCS giveaway today... give it to a kid that would truly appreciate it. I love giveaways at the ballpark, but not ones that cheapen the cheering of real fans, hence my problem with thunder sticks. Also, I should be so lucky as to be getting a giveaway this evening... I'm not an advocate for the east-coast school of thought that makes baseball a serious matter and that you should act like you're stepping into church when you get to the ballpark. But thunder sticks and a rally monkey? Cmon, if that's not stupid I don't know what is.
-
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 08:16 AM) Um, we have the Rally Crede and we handed out thundersticks for Game 2 IIRC. The Rally Crede is a Soxtalk thing, not a White Sox thing. You don't see the RAlly Crede jumping up and down on the jumbotron at the Cell do you? :headshake I was at Game 2 and I left my thundersticks on the ramp on the way up to my seats. If you can't whistle, clap or chant at hte game, you got some problems that thundersticks arent gonna solve. They are so obnoxious and cheapen the noise made by the real fans who won't have any part of thundersticks. I only mentioned them in relation to the Angels because it seems like they take them to a whole new level - everyone at Angels stadium yesterday seemed to be banging thundersticks. The only redeeming part about Angels fans is the hot SoCal chicks.
-
Every time I watch an Angels home game, I see two things: the rally monkey and thunder sticks. Both of those things are lame beyond belief. That is all.
