What about Grudz? Couldn't he fill some needs for The Sox? IIRC, doesn't he have an outstanding glove?

Is he? He isn't listed in their free agent players. I was wondering the same thing. Maybe he is going to be on the non-tendered list. I honestly wouldn't mind him back in the pen next season, but I think he wants to start. Injuries killed what could have been a good season for him, IMO.

I agree with everything you've said. What could have been with that 2003 team. KW does everything he can to put a winner out there, for one reason or another they just don't.

I really believe that The Sox are in a good position to contend in 2005. Obviously, some moves need to be made and I have full faith that they will. As everyone knows they really need to add a starter and a bullpen guy. I think we will se those come via free agency. I just don't think RJ or one of the big 3 from Oakland is happening. I am leaning more toward Russ Ortiz or Brad Radke or Matt Clement type and would like to see Antonio Osuna brought back. I think that gives them the best pitching staff in The Central. If only Garland could put it together. I don't think we need to trade Konerko, although I wouldn't object to it. The Offense doesn't need an overhaul, someone like EY and maybe Hidalgo or Dye could be brought in for the bench and as Carl Everett or Willie Harris insurance. Hopefully a healthy Frank and continued improvement out of Crede and a follow up season by Rowand could off set the loss of Maggs. Also, when healthy, Carl Everett can produce. I really liked Wislon Valdez, IMO, I think he deserves a shot. These are all my opinions, I still think we are better off more so than the rest of The Central.

When was Sean Lowe ever a prospect? And, is he still in the league? Man that was a close NL CY Young race too with Kip Wells just edging out Josh Fogg, damn wish we still had those 2.

I wanted Osuna last year. Bring him back. It's time to start doing something Kenny, the rest of the league is making moves around you again.

I agree. It's a long offseason. I don't think losing out on Vizqueal and Guzman take KW out of what he has in mind for this team. A big trade is coming and so is probably Russ Ortiz. I guess we need to be patient. After all, it wasn't until January a couple of years ago that KW made The Colon deal and signed Flash Gordon.

I think we can bank on Russ Ortiz., and a major trade at the winter meetings. Now, we will hear how KW is satisfied going into Spring Training with Uribe/Valdez/Harris. I think we'll also see the usual non-roster invitees. I predict another loooooong winter now.

I honestly would have no problem with that. If not Guzman, then give me Ronnie Belliard and slide Uribe over to 2B.

I'll put this way, if Paulie is traded for a stud starter or bullpen guy and Gload becomes the starting 1B, Great. If Paulie stays, Great. Either way I'm comfortable with our plans for 1B.

I agree with you 100%. But call it a feeling I have, our 2 big FA acquisitions will be Vizquel and ortiz, possibly Dye if Konerko or Lee is moved.

Guys, count on it, Russ Ortiz will be on The Sox in '05. KW almost traded for him instead of Colon 2 years ago and there was all that talk last year about getting him. KW loves him for some reason, he'll get him.
