  1. If this trade can be done, then get it done. The Big Unit will put people in the seats and give The White Sox a little more of a National following. Jon Garland has got to go, he needs a change of scenery. 12 wins by Jon Garland is not acceptable. Yes, he's only 25, but he's been with The Sox since 2000 and has shown no improvement. The Sox need a draw, Randy Johnson is that draw. I wouldn't mind Jason Grilli as the number 5.
  2. I know, I do sound like him. But, I just feel like rebuilding is coming in 2006 and beyond. I really think The Sox need to go for it all this year.
  3. Maybe they will invent an award recognizing an established Japanese player who comes over here and has a great first season awar. Ok, I doubt it, Speaking on a bias, I say give it to Shingo. But hell, I thought MIke Caruso should have won the award a few years ago too.
  4. Make the trade. Oh please make the trade. Give up one of the prospects, make the trade. Oh Please KW, make the trade.
  5. I was on the dishnet homepage and in some their programming packages it has the comcast sportsnet logo. Does anyone know if that is the chicago channel or one of the other ones?
  6. I don't think KW is going to trade Paulie for a prospect. If The Sox can get a quality arm (starter or bullpen guy) for him then a trade has to be made.
  7. Does anyone know if dishnet or mediacom will be getting the comcast channel?
  8. That was quick. I really didn't think Beltran would end up here anyway. We have a good CF, let's get the Unit or Hudson.
  9. Oh how I would love Tim Hudson here on the southside. Make the trade Kenny.
  10. The next statue needs to be Fisk. Probably will never see it though.
  11. Totally agree. He's not going to trade CLee and replace him with garbage. He saw the same crap that was Joe Borchard that we all did last year. He isn't going to replace Lee with Borchard. I say make the deal. Even if for one year, get Randy Johnson here, I have a feeling rebuilding is coming in 2006 anyway. Please KW, bring the Big Unit to the southside.
  12. Guardado exercised his 4 million dollar option to stay with The Mariners today. I don't have the exact link, but it is under The Pedro files for free agency heading on espn.com.
  13. I don't know if it was mentioned on here, but people tend to forget that Vizquel was actually traded to Seattle last off season for Carlos Guillen, but the trade was rejected because Vizquel failed a physical. Could you imagine Guillen on that Indians team? Although, I would welcome Vizquel here as an upgrade over Valentin, I'm just not sure if he will make an impact or not. If this was already covered on this thread, I apologize, I didn't go back and read all of them.
  14. This may have been covered at some point during the season, I don't know, I'm still fairly new here. But why did Kelly Wunsch spend almost the entire year in Charlotte? I never understood why he wasn't pitching for The Sox last season. I'm pretty sure he would have done better out of the bullpen that some did that we had in there. Anyone know the reason?
  15. Why not here? I'll take him a heartbeat.
  16. I'm happy that Everett is coming back. Without looking at any numbers it seems to me that every time he comes off a down or inury filled year he lights it up, I could be wrong, but I thought that was the scenario two years ago when we got him in the trade with Texas. If Everett is healthy he isn't going to hurt The Sox. Besides, at least now we know he won't be coming back in a midseason trade next summer. What is everyone's opinion on Roberto Alomar. I've seen some bashers on here. I think he should be resigned to a minor league deal and given a shot to win a utility job, I just feel like this guy has got to have a little bit left in the tank. I think he could be a spark off the bench, IMO. Then we would know he wasn't coming back in a midseason deal either.
  17. Hitless, Thanks for the numbers on Lee. Maybe it's just my bias, but I really don't like him. I guess a big part of me thought that he could carry this team when Frank/Maggs got hurt, probably unfair expectations on my part. It just seemed like every time he came up in a big situation, he would pop out. I would not be heart broken to see him go. I like Rowand and Uribe too, I hope last year was just the beginning for those two. Same for Gload.
  18. I agree, do not trade Rowand. I have read several other posts that have said do not trade prospects.......Sweeney, Anderson, McCarthy...etc. But, dammit, if trading those guys for Randy Johnson or any other superstar that will get us to The Series and give us a chance to win it fine. Pull the trigger, make the trade. We have all been through rebuilding with this team before, I would do it again for just one title on the southside. Besides, they are just prospects, so was Rodney Bolton and Scott Ruffcorn, what the hell did they get us?
  19. This may be another topic for another thread, but personally I would love to see Carlos Lee leave town. My buddies and I called him the anti-clutch. This guy never seems to get a big hit, ever. I don't know his statistics with RISP and I understand that his numbers, avg, HR, RBI, etc.....were good, but he always swung at the first pitch and would pop everything up. If KW trades anyone this offseason, make it Carlos Lee.
  20. As bad as Esteban was this year, I cannot say a bad thing about him. I will always remember 2003 and what he did for The Sox and the fans. I know it didn't result in a division title, but come on he had one of the best years ever for a Sox pitcher. I still say he deserved the damn Cy Young.
  21. Maybe someone can help me here. I remember Vazquez making The Sox look absolutely silly the 2 times they faced him this year. Then again, I guess it is the whole pitchers they have never faced before situation. What happened to this guy down the stretch? His numbers were bad, but if it could be done I'd take a gamble on this guy.
  22. Actually Crede has only played for 2 1/2 years if memeory serves me correct. I can still remember Robin Ventura's first year with the team when he hit .240? and had 5HR, everyone wanted to give up on him too. I don't see Joe Crede as Scott Rolen, but I do see him as Robin Ventura and that is just fine with me.
  23. Your absolutely right, it is way too early to give up on Joe Crede. Give him a chance to fix those holes in his swing. I'll take his defense at 3rd any day.
