QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 12, 2009 -> 11:43 PM) Eek... I hope he doesn't show him his follow thru or the towel drill.... I don't know why people hate on Prior's mechanics. It seem like it all started when the Cubs knew Prior was done and couldn't figure out why he kept on getting injured, so they said, "It must be the mechanics" and everyone ran with it. His mechanics actually looked great and the towel drill is actually a damn good one. With that said, I think he was on the roids.

I honestly do think it's the combination of offense and offensive line. Cutler is just getting murdered out there. I don't know why people think running bootlegs and moving the pocket is a better idea. They can't even block straight up. The line is old, or just plain crap, or both. They need to completely rebuild the line. We need a new offensive coordinator who can make great use of Cutler's arm which is his biggest strength. They also need a stud WR out there. Olsen also is vastly overrated.

San Fran isn't a garbage team. They have a shot at the playoffs. They're a team on the rise. Cutler, is not everything Bears fans wanted him to be, therefore hyped him up to be. He's Jay Cutler. He still is a franchise QB though. He just has no offensive line, he has no dominant type of receiver, the running game has been terrible this year, and last, but definitely not least, his offensive coordinator is a joke.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 12, 2009 -> 02:53 PM) This happens entirely too often. I wish Byron could take the reigns in Chicago and coach up D-Rose like he did CP3. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Nov 12, 2009 -> 05:18 PM) I'd be on board with that. CP3 was going to be this good regardless of where he ended up. It has a lot less to do with Scott's coaching and much more to do with, CP3's skill, mindset and killer instinct. Scott will not make a difference in Derrick's career. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 13, 2009 -> 01:09 AM) :o That was a vicious poster. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Nov 13, 2009 -> 09:19 AM) Hm, LeBron switching his number to 6 next season...I'm not being completely serious, but just another star aligning for the Bulls. Lol. Maybe Wade and LeBron in Chicago! QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 13, 2009 -> 01:18 PM) Nah, Byron Scott wasn't the genius in New Jersey (Eddie Jordan was) and he just doesn't have the ability to get his guys to respect him. Bottom line, he's lost his team in New Jersey and now in Charlotte and that is why he's gone. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 13, 2009 -> 01:19 PM) No thank you. Byron Scott is not a good head coach. Bingo. EJ was much more of a factor in New Jersey. Scott is a mediocre coach. For Rose, a guy who has all the talent in the world, it's going to come down to his personality. He's not agressive at all times of the game, literally instead of using his speed, he rather walk the ball up the court each time up, and of course, the infamous, bring the ball up the court, dump it in, and stand in a corner for the whole play. No, that's not VDN's play by design. That's Rose in a nutshell. Hopefully he can correct this, but usually personality changes are hard to make.

ROFLS @ Washington for hiring Jim Riggleman as their manager. I thought they wanted to build a winning team.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 11, 2009 -> 05:59 PM) He did? He talked some s*** after he left about the club, didn't sound to me like he enjoyed his time here. He talked because they didn't want him back, told him not to accept arbitration because they would bench him, and the Sox talked about him on his way out. Money was a motivating factor for the most part though.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 11, 2009 -> 10:54 AM) Yeah, the only ones I can recall in the KW era are Orlando Cabrera and Bobby Howry. Actually O-Cab wanted to stay. KW told him to stay away though because they would make his life miserable by benching him if he decided to accept arbitration.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Nov 11, 2009 -> 04:38 PM) one thing is for damn sure about this bulls team is that they are SIGNIFICANTLY better defensively this year than they were last year....and i don't think its coincidental to the fact that Gordon is gone, Deng is back and healthy, and Hinrich is back and healthy...theyve faced a difficult schedule with lots of big time scorers (James, Wade, Anthony, Spurs trio) and have only really looked bad against the celtics on the road, and have held their own for the most part The Bulls are playing at a much slower tempo I bet without looking at the stats. Also, the Bulls backcourt is being outperformed, both SG and PG. SG is the best defended position in a row so far this year. The center and power forward positions are outperforming their counterparts thogh this year, especially C which is a no brainer if you look at how Noah has vastly improved and VDN going with Noah and Miller at the same time on the floor.

Javier Vazquez Shopped by Braves?
Apparently, Chipper Jones has been going around the Braves organization saying they need to keep Javy. Also, the young pitchers like him as he apparently has turned into a mentor, especially for Jair Jurjens(sp?). Who knows what happens though. They have too many good pitchers and the one that isn't all that great is Lowe, but he will be untradeable. And Hudson has more value to them than anyone else.

Hmm, I honestly wouldn't mind JD at 1B on the cheap, PK moved with Jenks for an impact player or two and signing a major player. Sounds too good though.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 10, 2009 -> 01:46 AM) I think nitetrain is Ben Gordon. There is no other explanation. Saying Ben Gordon is as good as Joe Johnson isn't quite as ludicrous as saying BG is as good as Brandon Roy, as he did last year. But it's close. And I'm one that really like Ben. But he's not a top 10 shooting guard. 2's that are unquestionably better than Ben Gordon. Kobe Wade Roy Johnson Vince Allen Manu Martin Mayo Hamilton Bwahahahahaha. You must be joking me. Look at the stats of Gordon in comparison to all of those guys. Portland was going to go after Ben last offseason before Detroit dumped a cash truck at midnight. They ended up with Miller unfortunately. With that said, that list is a joke. Guys on that list that you can def say are better than Gordon: Kobe Wade VC Roy(ended up with a better season after Ben slowed down and Roy picked up) Guys that would have a case: Martin Manu Guy that will be better: OJ Mayo Guys that are not better: Johnson Allen Hamilton So, obviously, Ben is not an elite all around player. He can score just as good as Manu and Martin and has displayed better defense than either the past two years. Mayo is much better defensively, and offensively, he has skill, but he's not an efficient offensive player at all yet. He will be IMHO though. Johnson is not as efficent as Gordon offensively, and defensively, despite your beliefs that taller is automatically better, Johnson is not better defensively. All Boston fans would trade Allen in a heartbeat for Gordon since the beginning of last year. Allen has had a better overall career and that will probably remain after it's said and done, but he has not been better than Ben for some time. Hamilton could never score as efficiently as Ben, defenisvely he is worse than Ben as a man defender. Detroits scheme is good at hiding weaknesses for both Rip and Ben, but Ben's by far a better player. Check TS%, eFG%, PER and PER Against for some reference. I would post them for you, but honestly, guys on this site have a tendency to dismiss stats in favor of their personal bias.

I don't think LeBron is going to Chicago at all either. I think it's CLE or NY for him. Wade is realistic as well as Amare or Boozer. Joe Johnson is too, but he's not better than Ben Gordon who we could've had for pennies on the dollar in compared to Johnson. Wade Amare Bosh Boozer Dirk(no chance though) Those are the only guys worth a darn to me.

LeBron is the type of guy where you sign him and find out what to do with whoever has his spot at the moment later. It's like saying no to Michael Jordan in his prime because you have Mitch Richmond at his spot already. With that said, Deng has to be moved either to PF or another team if we sign Wade because we really won't have a 3 point threat in our starting lineup which will really hurt Wade and Rose. So I hope Deng starts taking 1,000 threes a game.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 9, 2009 -> 11:31 AM) It's Lovie's fault that this is one of the dumber teams in the league (stupid penalty after stupid penalty), it's gotta be partly Lovie and Turner's fault for the play calling, and it's definitely Lovie's fault for not being able to adjust to ANYTHING that happens on the field. The last three games the Bears have looked entirely unprepared in nearly every facet of the game. That's a coaching problem. But yes, the team itself also sucks. I dunno why they (Angelo especially) gave up our only decent pick this year to pick up yet another underperforming and over valued defensive player. In order of sucky this teams needs: 3 more OL, 2-3 more DL (Brown is the only one i'd keep), 2-3 CB's, at least one new safety, and at least 2 WR's. Unless they decide to spend a massive amount of money (not likely), this team is going to suck for at least the next 2-3 years. The team won't suck, but it won't be what every Bears fan expects. Honestly, Tillman needs to be moved to S or 2nd or 3rd CB off the team. Vasher should be off the team. Bowman is a decent 3rd CB. The Bears need to start thinking about a new MLB & OLB. Their OLine is godawful. And the Bears had a decent offensive coordinator, but fans wanted him fired when Grossman got injured for a more traditional offensive coordinator who never really has shown greatness for at least the span of 3 games. Their offense falls on Turner, not Lovie. He doesn't get to make the change on that side of the ball, only suggestions. Fans are too fickle when proven schemes don't work. It's not the player, it's got to be the coach. SMH. Glad I'm a Cowboys fan.

Official 2009-2010 NFL Thread
I'll tell you what the problem is, and it's not Lovie. It's the actual players. The Bears have a garbage OL. Harris really isn't that bad as a DL, though he's not the same as before though. Tillman shouldn't be your best CB. The only guys worth keeping as starters on defense are Briggs and Alfalava. The rest are pretty trash.

LOL at the article by Telander today(who I'm generally a fan of) complaining about how Cutler gives PC answers and doesn't have a personality. "Wah wah wah, we don't have a real QB" *Bears get a legit QB* "Wah wah wah, our QB doesn't like to disclose his personal life"

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 05:46 PM) At least get your story straight....his dad does not work for ISU and is not even in Ames. ISU offered him a few years ago. Knowing multiple people that have been friends with Harrison his entire life.......Iowa State is still in the picture. I was using parents in general, but fine, if you want it that way. He's not going to Ames even though his Dad played there(who's not in his life anymore) and his mom works there. I'll make you a sig bet that ISU doesn't end up with him.

Sox 2010 DH
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 06:17 PM) Seriously though isn't that the right move? We heed a hopefully LH, Power hitting DH in this lineup to add some more pop. There's like a dozen of them on the market if you count the right-handed guys. There's not going to be a run on them, they're going to be available in late jan/early Feb just like Abreu and Hudson were last year, why not wait a little bit until the contracts for these guys shake out? I almost agree unless there is someone out there you are targeting. You never want to be the one who sets the market value too high. Then again, you might miss out getting a guy on the cheap. Honestly, I think KW will see how much guys he wants are going for. Holliday will set the rate and then the dominos will fall. If he doesn't like the pricing, he'll wait to see if there is a guy he likes still available. If not, he'll probably scour the market for an Adam Dunn.

I'm not big on Byrd or Reed. Not really a fan of Winn unless it's a bottom of the order hitter. To me, I rather have Matsui almost over anyone in terms of under the 'dar approach.
