QUOTE (goblue5699 @ Jan 8, 2010 -> 07:05 PM) I was in a sociology class with Trulon Henry at COD, he's an interesting dude. Good way or bad way. The only question that matters though is, "CAN HE PLAY?!"

Yeah, it's pretty poor for people to be calling out Colt. I wasn't his biggest fan, but clearly, if you can't throw a 7 yard pass, you're not going to make it. I applaud him for doing his darnest to get Gilbert ready for the 2nd half. He had confidence in Garrett when Garrett didn't have any. It was a great game and both QB's did all they could. I wanted Alabama to win before the game started, but I kind of wish it was given to Texas after the fact. I also think the injury is much more major than what Colt is letting on. He said it didn't hurt, just felt numb. His coaches and almost everyone at Texas didn't want him to play so he didn't hurt his draft status. They were even saying this on the telecast. I would feel the same as Colt. He worked 4 hard years for that game and it was ripped away like Tonya Harding hitting Nancy Kerrigan with a lead pipe.

He'll fail because of the roster and then return to college in a few years. I say over/under is at 2 years.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 8, 2010 -> 01:25 PM) Jim Mora... HE GONE! Yeah, he got a raw deal. That team should be rebuilding, but instead they're trying to patch up their team to make it seem like they're contenders.

Jennings actually had that hairstyle in high school. I think he had it for the McDonald's All American game as well his senior season. I like it actually.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 10:48 AM) Cameron Dollar, former assistant for Lorenzo Romar, is their head coach. No doubt in my mind that he'll be a superstar coach in college basketball in 5 years. He's got tons of connections, both good and bad if you know what I mean. Yep. And that kid you are talking about is actually comparable to Lamar Odom, but he's much more agressive. Only reason he is that low is because he goes to Seattle.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 04:54 PM) I just don't get what all the big fuss about what Arenas did, they were unloaded weapons...what Crittenton did was actually much worse. I agree. Bringing guns in the first place was dumb, but not really all that bad. And the picture, I don't get what's so bad about that in the huddle in pregame warmups. The way he deals with things is by joking around. He always has. With that said, this has been a sucky year for him. First his fiance/wife is cheating on him with Shaq, and now this. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 05:00 PM) If nothing else he directly violated the NBA rules by having a firearm at an NBA facility. A suspension was fully appropriate. Yeah, but taking away his whole paycheck isn't. It says in there, the fine cannot exceed $150,000.00

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 05:09 PM) Problem is that it is funded by the park district, which would never front the money for field turf. Yep, the Bears would have to pay for it if they wanted it which they never ever will because they're the Bears.

Who is your favorite MLB team outside the Sox?
Mariners in the AL because of Ken Griffey Jr back in the day. Cincy Reds in the NL because of Ken Griffey Jr. I genuinely like both teams though and do follow their farm systems and such as much as I do the White Sox. Let it be known though, I'll always love the White Sox over any other team.

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 09:48 PM) Sure looks like he's gonna recommit to Florida, which sucks. If Tennessee couldn't nab him, I sure as heck didn't want Florida to get him. But Brandon Willis is doing the same thing with Tennessee. He decommitted last week after being committed since Sept. and it now looks like he very well might recommit to UT at the Army All-American game. He seemed like a Tennessee player to me. I was hoping he would end up there. Hopefully they at least nab Willis. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 09:54 PM) Urban Meyer at his best. I hope Elam goes there and Meyer is gone within the year. In the end this feels like one big staged thing. As do I. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 08:13 AM) A ** JUCO recruit usually isnt too good, and I have no idea how good of football they play at COD. Supossedly a few other BCS programs like Oregon St. & Indiana showed interest, and if he is anywhere near as athletic as his brother, he'll have a chance to compete. Guess we'll find out, but I think it was probably more of a favor for his brother. If he can stay with it and get a degree from U of I, then good for him If he gets a degree, that would be the best case scenario from what it seems. It'll be a big turn around for him.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 06:27 AM) Maybe Gilbert isnt as crazy as he is stupid http://deadspin.com/5442282/crittenton-coc...taking-the-fall Holy s***. Singing while loading a gun? That's a little too Falling Down. But there's more: Wizards' Arenas suspended indefinitely as new details emerge in gun incident Yeah, all I've been hearing that Arenas has been trying to take the heat off of Crittenton. No way they end up voiding his contract either. The player's union would never allow it.

Official 2009-2010 NBA Thread
In the NBA, you either win a trade or you lose a trade. Very rarely do you get equal value. So either the Rapts will take something less than they thought Bosh was, or some team will overpay for him and give them much more than what he's actually worth. With that said, I wouldn't believe this rumor at all.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 04:56 PM) Yeah, its strange that in a time where U of I is having to open up their books regarding preferential treatment that they would allow a convicted felon to attend for free. Maybe he was truly rehabilitated. Could've happened. Anyway, can he play? Also Matt Elam seems to be flip flopping. He committed to Florida, committed to FSU, and rumor has it, he will decommit from FSU to commit back to Florida even though he's denying it at this time.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 5, 2010 -> 07:34 PM) No, not midseason firing and hiring. end of season. And I dont think Martz would get it, but I would not want the distraction that happened in Detroit and San Fran If I was a Bears fan, I would. The Bears need a revamped offense IMO. The best candidate other than Martz would be Terry Shea. He was everyone's favorite until Grossman got injured in game 2 or 3 and lost for the season. Then it was learned that unless you have a cannon for an arm, you couldn't run the offense. I think he got a raw deal, but I know the Bears wouldn't dare bring him back.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 5, 2010 -> 07:24 PM) If Lovie was gone, he would be lobbying for the newly created opening at head coach, just like he did in Detroit, and just like he did in San Fran. It makes perfect sense. And are Martz and Lovie buddies? Or did they just coach on the same team together? They are actually buddies. He lobbied for the Bears to hire him. Also, with the whole 2011 thing looming, the Bears won't fire Lovie midseason to hire Martz. If they're going to fire him, it's going to be for Cowher.

I don't know why the Cards gave him that much. They were bidding against themselves in this case.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 5, 2010 -> 06:09 PM) im worried if Martz comes in its going to be another percieved attempt at a power play by Martz. In both Detroit and San Fran there was a lot of talk that he was doing behind the scenes angling for the HC job and that led to his dismissal because he wasnt concentrating on his own job I don't see that in Chicago for a couple of reasons. He knows if the Bears don't perform, Lovie is gone, so there wouldn't be much angling to do anyway. Also, Lovie is his buddy. I don't think he would screw over Lovie for that fact alone.

Can someone give me some input on Perry and what makes him so great? I don't know much about the guy. Also, as long as you have speed, you'll fit in with Martz as a WR. Look at guys like Yo Murphy, Az Zahir Hakim, etc for evidence. I think Martz is the perfect fit, especially for Matt Forte as a receiver out of the backfield. No matter what, the Bears need an Oline though.

I liked TNA more tonight in terms of overall show. If it wasn't for Bret, I honestly would've watched the Bulls game over the WWE.
