  1. QUOTE(Be Good @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 02:41 PM) Francona also called me about 3B I told him that Blalock might be a better option then Crede, so we'll see what happens. Bad choice. I hope some people can see the obvious sarcasm.
  2. HELL f***IN' YEA!!!! EAT SHYT b****ES!!!!!!! A little OT, has anyone else noticed that the lower deck has became more and more full the past week or so? Are they letting more people down there from the Upper Deck or is it the fact that the park is slowly filling up??
  3. I thought Jack McDowell had a 48 game streak back in 93 or 92.
  4. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 02:22 PM) Once more, insert 1-liner to end thread: 49-22. PERIOD. I would like to join. I also could care less if it's Frank or Rowand batting in the 3 spot. I wouldn't drop Frank personally to the 5th spot, but if Ozzie were to do that, I could understand that.
  5. Aaron has hit his best in the 3rd spot and is our best hitter with runners in scoring position. Big Hurt would bat 4th, but Konerko needs his protection so it all makes sense. This isn't a move that's discipling Thomas, but more like helping Rowand and Konerko.
  6. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 01:50 PM) I've argued on this point far too much over the last couple days. But this is one of the most fun subjects to argue about. I've been a huge perponant of Halladay starting the All-Star game and I'm sticking with it. Stats tell all. I agree wholeheartedly.
  7. QUOTE(Goldmember @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 12:20 PM) forget the popcorn. /grabs camera... Don't forget the Jello
  8. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 11:07 PM) There is a way to flood the allstar ballot http://www.forums.mlb.com/n/mb/message.asp...=1&msg=39021.16 so if you wanted the al you would go here mlb.mlb.com/mlb/events/all_star/y2005/al_ballot.html Im not going to do it because its probaly illegal. Looks like the White Sox will be sweeping every position in the ASG. Putting homefield advantage in the White Sox hands.
  9. *bootlegs the cd before it's even made*
  10. QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 11:28 AM) I still think right now it's Halladay, Rogers, Buehrle, and Garland in the AL Martinez, Willis, Peavy, and Carpenter in the NL. EDIT:Also Clemens in the NL(how could I forget him??????) I strongly agree. I'll hold out hope though.
  11. I hope he does. That would be fantastic. It would make the Illini favorites to win the Big Ten again and a possible Final Four contender again with him.
  12. Went to the game. Really nice crowd(looked like they had more than yesterday). Crede comes through tonight. I love it.
  13. Sorry brainfart. I still do think those extra days benefit our pitchers. Especially when the go deep into games ala Garland today. It prevents them from hitting the wall. I rather have some of those 5 days of complete rest. That's just me though.
  14. Garland would only be getting 4 days rest(Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday). I don't like that at all. If you're not going to pitch BMac, send him down and bring up another pitcher. Our pitchers throw enough as it is.
  15. I don't think you sit him and have Garland rest on short rest. Garland can get rocked and people will be asking for Ozzie's head. And if BMac isn't going to pitch, send him down and bring up another pitcher(like Adkins as a LR). I don't like BMac, but I hate the idea of pitching our guys on short rest. It didn't work last year and it won't this year IMHO.
  16. Obviously no one listened to Joe Morgan because I watched the replay yesterday and he was giving them mad love. People are overreacting big time. They've been giving fair coverage to the White Sox. And the White Sox didn't lose the game in which Hermy was up and Brantley said he should've been put in IIRC. And also, many people on here felt the same about Ozzie putting Hermy in as Brantley did. Some fans try to reach so much.
  17. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 01:28 PM) I'll see if i can rig it to get Crede the starting third basemen. Could you really??
  18. If I'm correct, Greinke has an excellent curveball and throws a bunch of breaking balls and offspeed stuff. If that's the case, the White Sox will have trouble. We don't handle those type of pitchers too well at all.
  19. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 07:50 AM) Duque will be the guy, book it. I think Oz will rest him here and there so that he can go late into the season. I expect B-Mac to get spot starts against the teams we should beat like KC., TB, Detroit, Seattle etc. I'd rather see us go after a bullpen guy. Package up all the dead weight in the minors (Borchard and the merry-go-round of 5th starters from last year) and get ONE solid bullpen arm. Couldn't say it better myself.
  20. QUOTE(Finkelstein @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 11:34 AM) I voted Minnesota. They have the talent and experience. Cleveland has the talent, but may be a bit too young right now. I don't get this. People act like all of Cleveland's players are in their early 20's. The average age of their team is 28/29. They're not too young. Anyway, I fear us choking.
  21. The article about All City team is going to talk about how it's rigged and about how Sox fans suck at everything and a bunch of other garbage.
  22. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 08:32 PM) Personally, i think Brandon is one year away from being ready. 2 and I've always maintained that.
  23. No. Cotts is one of the few bright spots in the pen. And you can't just expect to stretch him out midseason. That almost never works. The pen is strong with him and not strong without him. He's starting to gain confidence as a reliever and we're in the middle of a division title race. You have to leave him there. El Duque will be fine as at least the 5th starter. We just need that guy to go .500 which I'm very confident he will.
  24. QUOTE(ReinsdorfSucks @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 08:21 PM) they are hesitant to do anything with shingo because they are getting japanese ad revenue and publicity. Bingo.
  25. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 07:59 PM) Please don't jump on me for this, but what do we do about the 5th starter spot now? Clearly McCarthy can't do it this year. Who knows about El Duque. Dye homers. Thank God. Not too much to worry about. If we get a 4 ERA out of the 5 spot, we should be fine. Remember guys, we weren't really expecting anything but .500 ball out of the 5th slot.
