  1. What about the incomparable D'Angelo Jimenez??
  2. Apparently the Kincks are trying to move Tim Thomas as well. I say they have to move him and Marbury because when the Knicks are ready to compete with their core, those guys will be old. The Knicks got the better player, but they also gave up a future first. Plus they lost a low post presence. As it stands now, Jamal Crawford is on the bench now from what I hear.
  3. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 12:57 PM) Found Mariotti's article: http://www.suntimes.com/output/mariotti/cst-spt-jay01.html Nowhere does it say he's correct. And I've browsed others in his archive, this is the only one concerning the White Sox which mentions Phillips. ESPN OTL Nightly. That's when Mariotti said it and Padilla said it. They were on seperate shows(about 2 weeks apart IIRC) and the one guy from ESPN Deportes admitted it too, but he didn't speak much else on it. He just said it's because they know he's a high strung guy and that's good for the White Sox.
  4. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 12:49 PM) Sure, the two most trusted and unbiased journalists in Chicago. Who is the other columnist? I want to say Rick Morrisy(sp?) but I'm not 100% sure on that. It could be Rogers.
  5. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 12:42 PM) How can you assume this? I couldn't imagine if there's actually more to his post-game rants than what is broadcasted on TV or printed in the papers. Steve Phillipps suggesting Guillen is protected by journalists is not a credible source. Besides him, where have you heard anyone suggest the media protects Ozzie? Mariotti, Padilla and another columnist from Chicago have said the same.
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 12:36 PM) Wasn't that the year of Frank's shoulder injury? Don't remember that.
  7. Still can't believe Dye didn't win. He should've.
  8. We're not in the playoffs. Let's not get too cocky. Looks like we'll be 9.5GB after today since the Tigers look like they're not winning. I prefer we stay away from posts saying, "Since we're in the playoffs" or "Whose our first round opponent" It's not even AS break yet, so let's hold off on that talk.
  9. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 11:54 AM) The Sox not having Thomas and Ordonez in the second half of last year killed any chance that team had of winning the division. They were a .500 team without those 2. He's talking about the year before when we did have Ordonez and Thomas.
  10. I agree with him actually. Ozzie does get away with alot more stuff and lots of people say that reporters don't always print what he says because he would be in a boatload more of trouble. I have a feeling that whenever Ozzie starts losing, it'll go downhilll big time.
  11. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 10:29 PM) None of our pitching prospects would be able to pitch 4 + innings with 6 SO and no hits in relief. I wish our organization could develop a Rich Hill. Or, good forbid, a Sergio Mitre. --Instead of Felix Diaz clones. I think Mitre is as good if not worse than Diaz. Mitre had a good 2 game stretch. Big whoop.
  12. The money is not that big of an issue. The prospects we'd have to give up is though. That's why I wouldn't make this move. As far as Frank goes, I think Sox management has to keep him around. PK does better with him around(at least the clubhouse). I think management realizes Frank is a lifetime Sox. I also doubt he asks for much more than he's making now. With the team winning and increased revenue, I don't see why he wouldn't be resigned. Maybe Steff has some inside info.
  13. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 09:33 PM) He did. Yes indeedly do. Does anyone know if he was decent, defensively at 3B??
  14. I feel you Antonio Osuna. I agree to an extent. I'm happy with what they've done up to now. Tommorow's an off day so it's okay to celebrate, but it's back to work on Friday. I'm confident Ozzie knows how to work psyche's on this team.
  15. QUOTE(Yoda @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 08:36 PM) Just viewed his HR on Baseball Tonight. Seeing that makes me want to have Lee back in a White Sox uniform. Pods stealing on Friday will make you forget about him. I though wish we could've traded PK for him instead though. I think Lee is more consistant overall. Eh well. We go with what we got. How about KW trade back for Carlos Lee(Brian Anderson and Joe Crede) and move Lee back to 3rd!!!
  16. I'm not going to overlook anyone. I just want us to win. If we get a 30 game lead, so be it. I just want the playoffs this year.
  17. Man on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs in the top of the 9th for the Tigers.
  18. I heard he's a hit or miss type prospect. The Cubs are very high on him, and one day he could look like Cy Young while the next day he looks like Todd Ritchie.
  19. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 08:14 PM) Yeah, I guess. Although they DO have a decent rotation and a really good bullpen. Boston with Schilling has a better rotation, playoff experience and a better offense.
  20. Jabroni, that's a good thing. I rather have to face Cleveland in the playoffs.
  21. Cubs Trade Talks...Roger Clemens & Mark Teixeria to Wrigleyville for help?? Some Team In The Ghetto Robs Poor Team of Rich Tradition...Ringleader Ozzie Brought In For Questioning
  22. Bases are loaded. Wow. What happened to Romero??
  23. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 07:51 PM) I supposed I should look things up before i say them. hahah. But that stat surprises me Well the thing is, the White Sox usually get the runs they need. They usually don't go above and beyond like they used to and then get shut out the next night. We constantly score in every game. It adds up.
  24. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 07:37 PM) What's mostly killing your team is the offense. You guys aren't scoring any runs. I agree. Offense has been really crappy. You guys better hope you guys soon get out of your funk.
