  1. I think that for Contreras and El Duque, the main things are they faced strong hitting clubs and faired either good or decent. Playing against the best makes you better when you face the weaker opponents. Compared to what they faced in the AL East, this should be easier for them, easier on their arms and we finally have a chance to dominate the weak teams like we haven't before. El Duque and Contreras will rack up wins against the Royals and Tigers and Indians of our division IMO because they've seen better IMO. I'm expecting 2-1 wins for once and us being the winning team finally with guys like Contreras and El Duque.
  2. I think at the very least that this team will last up until the last week of the year. Hopefully longer.
  3. There was no deal in place for him to pitch with the White Sox. He didn't want to pitch for the Dodgers and that's part of the reason it fell apart. He said if he was traded to the Dodgers that he wouldn't report to them. The Sox and Paul Depodesta haven't talked since the winter meetings.
  4. BTW, I love this move. El Duque will help our young pitchers and give us a cheap #3 when healthy. Here's hoping it happens.
  5. Yeah, I remember hearing about that last year when we were playing in Yankee Stadium and there was a guest in the booth that admitted so too. I was scared of what the Sox had down the stretch. If it wasn't for Manuel, I think we could've won the pennant.
  6. ....Robert Person? Whatever happened to him and would he be able to pitch at least half the year in the number 5 slot? I'm personally a fan of getting El Duque, but I know the Sox would take the cheapest option which probably be a Robert Person type. So what do you guys think? Questions? Comments?
  7. I would go with El Duque as a more realistic option on the Southside. Milwood would still command top dollars.
  8. LOL....I'd like to see if Gammons repeat this again.
  9. Wasn't he the guy who when was scouted by the Angels threw 99, 101, 102, 100??......i remember somebody like that who was featured on ESPN
  10. I agree, AJ on this team would be good. He's great for getting into other people's minds too. Can you imagine what he would've done if it was Torrii Hunter who ran him down? We wouldn't have seen Torii Hunter for the rest of the season.
  11. I agree. Plus I'm thinking about purchasing my Damaso jersey.
  12. Sportscenter was on ESPN2. I actually hope this deal happens. Then we could trade Judy Garland and prospects for Tim Hudson or for a hitter and sign El Duque.
  13. Stepping up to the plate KW. In best Hawk voice, "I looooove Kenny."
  14. I just noticed that we wouldn't be giving up Konerko. That's a huge surprise and allows me to believe it won't happen because we still would need a 5th starter and our payroll will be over budget.
  15. I'm still with ya santo
  16. I don't know how people wouldn't want to have AJ Burnett AND Luis Castillo.
  17. Why would you bat someone with 30 HR's(estimated again) over a guy who had 41, or a guy who had 40 the season before? I say Rowand bats the Renteria role and it's either 2nd or 6th. I would go with the earlier. I'm sure Ozzie will too.
  18. Not even in a deal for Tim Hudson or Aj Burnett if it presented itself? I think that would happen. KW has a knack for big name players, especially pitchers that are needed.
  19. I think for the right deal Aaron would be traded. He would not easily be traded though since he is inexpensive and has made great strides.
  20. I'm sorry, but did you not see what happened when KW tried to make that Cleveland Indian team of the 90's? It didn't work. And never compare Rowand to Alomar. And to whoever said I should watch more baseball, I guarentee that Rowand doesn't make the All-Star team. I will wager a sig of your choice. I watch baseball alot. I have a MLB.tv pass and follow tons of players around the league. Every summer I go to a game in every ballpark across America. Minor Leagues I'm not so good on, but as far as the Major League's go, I watch tons of it.
  21. I don't think Aaron is untouchable to KW. Sure he's cheap, but guys are making him out to be Beltran. He's not. For the right deal I would trade him. Not for Johnson, unless that's all they wanted or if they wanted little more. Aaron is a good piece of trade bait. Trade him to Oakland for Tim Hudson. Trade him to Florida for AJ Burnett. I'm also sick of hearing talk that Aaron should be our #3 hitter. He doesn't have enough power to match up with Frank, Konerko or even Dye for the #3 hole. He would be a #3 hitter on a team like the Brewers prior to Carlos Lee, but definately not on the Sox.
  22. No one welcomed me that way:(...anyway, I don't see this trade going down.
  23. ok, i have a feelin nothings going to happen kalapse...hope something good does...emphasis on good
  24. i have a feeling that we've all been duped by bruce levine
