  1. QUOTE(shakes @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 09:54 AM) Did anybody see this last night? Yea I did, it just reinforced my hatred of Peter Gammons. He rightly said that he had no grasp of how the Sox are going to do this year. At least he admitted his ignorance this time. Kruk said that he could see the Sox overtaking Minnesota but still has Minny as the favorite to win the division and Harold Reynolds said that all five starters would have to live up to their potential to truly compete. And everyone on the show has a hardon for Detroit for some reason.
  2. That was a great atbat for an AL pitcher
  3. Buehrles getting hit hard, 2 doubles 1 hit 1 BB, sox down 2-0, runners on 1st and 2nd, 1 out
  4. I'm too lazy to read the entire thread. Have any of the players testified yet?
  5. QUOTE(obno @ Mar 16, 2005 -> 11:52 AM) Maybe Bajenaru needs to pick up spanish as a second language to have a chance with this bunch. He will be called up by May 1 2005. Actually he is bi-lingual. So he has that going for him.
  6. What the hell was that? It was five feet into the grass, why wouldnt the SS go and get that?
  7. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 03:37 PM) What trade did he come here in? I forget. Non-roster invite I thought?/Minor league deal
  8. Anyone else just see on the bottomline: Tigers release OF Alex Sanchez What's the deal with that?
  9. Burke playing 1st? They are really trying to get him in the lineup and hopefully on the 25-man
  10. Calm down everyone, just treat it like you were watching it on an opponents telecast, because that's basically what it was. It was Cubs announcers on a Cubs station, they are going to choose a Cub's player of the game. We all know that A-Row played better, but D-Lee was the player of the game for the Cubs. There are better things to get worked up about.
  11. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Mar 14, 2005 -> 11:03 AM) Does anyone know if it's going to be the Cubs or Sox broadcast team calling this game? I really think that they should mix and match the two broadcasting duos when they do the games in the regular season. I think that would be an interesting bit added to it.
  12. Are we expected to land Vasquez in the offseason and isn't Contreras still signed through 06? I think it's also a lot to assume that everyone of our big prospects (BMac, Sweeney, Anderson, Fields, & Honel) will all pan out. I'm fairly certain that BMac will, but I would definately be happy if 3 of 4 out of Sweeney, Anderson, Fields, & Honel turned out. But if all were to go as plan I agree, that would be one hell of a team
  13. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 14, 2005 -> 10:01 AM) I guess we all have to hope the Illini don't make the championship game. HELL YES!! GO ANYONE THAT BEATS THE ILLINI!!
  14. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Mar 14, 2005 -> 08:38 AM) He has to start in AAA. He has very little experience there & it's quite a few steps above AA in terms of quality of hitters. Furthermore adding him to the rotation would decimate the value of Garland & Contreras. The Sox need to get good value in return for these guys this year. The best scenario is if Brandon has a great 1/2 in AAA & Contreras & Garland combine for less than 10 bad starts at the break. That should give them both an era I still expect either or both of Garland & Contreras to be traded near the break as well as Crede & Koney. Assuming they all play well enough to entice other teams. So let me get this straight, you assume that we are going to trade 2/5 of our rotation and half of our starting infield? Yet you talk about how the Sox should compete this year for the division, how exactly does that work out. If the Sox are going to compete for the division they can't firesale their team. But I'm sure you'll find some statistics to prove me wrong.
  15. Borchard grounds out to second but Young was going. SOX WIN!! Rogowski scores. Borchard 2-4 on the day with 4 RBIs
  16. Young walks, runners on 1st and 3rd, 1 out, Borchard up
  17. Double by Rogowski off the fence to tie the game! Rogowski on 2nd, 0 outs, tie game
  18. Wildpitch, Valdez (pinch running for Burke) gets to second, 2-0 count to Rogowski, 0 outs
  19. Burke leads off with an infield single deep in the hole
