  1. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ May 6, 2005 -> 01:38 PM) That and having a better basketball team than that hick state to the east of us. Hear who entered the draft today though? No more Deron, No more Luther, No more Dee! I'd be afraid of the hick state to your north!!
  2. I'm going that game as well as long as 5/21. I'm sitting Dugout Box 25, Row A (directly behind the Sox on-deck circle) so ready to see Freddy march out for the day game and dominate whoever it is the Cubbies choose to walk out onto the rubber, it wont be the Friendly Confines for long. And one game at the Cell of course.
  3. I luuuuuvvvvvvv A.J. Pierzynski
  4. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ May 6, 2005 -> 09:22 AM) The Duke hasn't fared too well in Rogers Skydome Centre. But we'll see what happens. I remember we got swept here last year. Let's go for revenge and sweep them!! Just have to try to get Catalanatto out, too. I think he pitched an 8 inning 4 hitter 0 ER against Toronto last year in the Skydome. his career numbers are bad but not awful there. I like our chances tonight
  5. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 6, 2005 -> 09:24 AM) I agree. I didn't have any problems with his column. He's expressed nothing more than we have here at Soxtalk. When it comes to Mariotti his message seems to get lost in his words. Because of his personality on his old radio show, his outspoken riff between him and Hawk and Jerry it creates a general tone that seems to seep into anything he writes when concerning the White Sox. Even this article had a good amount of legitimate concerns to it (although I disagree that the bullpen is bound to "level out") it is the manner in which he writes it that seems to anger so many of the Black and White faithful. Mr. Mariotti needs to learn that its not always what you say, but how you say it.
  6. QUOTE(beck72 @ May 6, 2005 -> 05:27 AM) A Tony G move could coincide w/ Frank coming back [and KC isn't exactly going to ask for BMac--more than likely a guy who can pitch now for them--Baj, Munoz]. Having someone who can play 1b, 2b, SS and 3b would lessen the need for any two of Gload [who's hurt, may not be healthy for a while], Harris or Ozuna. The Sox big thing is having guys who can make the plays, not hurt the team with stupid mistakes. Tony G can do that for the sox at 4 IF positions. That's a good point. So around the break when Frank comes back it means that 2 out of 4 of, hypothetically, Tony G, Willie, Ross, and Ozuna will remain on the team. Which ones do you think it would be? I'm thinking Willie and Tony and Ross and Pablo go back down to Triple AAA for two months until call ups. But I believe in the old adage, if aint broke don't fix it
  7. He really just makes me laugh now. I don't know how anyone can take him seriously when they read him and than go on to watch him on ATH. We aren't the only ones who laugh at him, everyone on that show does too. Ahh Mariotti, always good for a few laughs
  8. When I hear that I'm thinking mroe of them dumping Sheffield for a lot of minor league talent, possibly womack, and gordon as well. Sheffield taking over for Dye in RF come trade deadline would be unreal. Middle of the order being Sheffield-Thomas-Konerko. Not too bad. But who needs a change when you are 21-7.
  9. QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ May 5, 2005 -> 02:28 PM) Of course, if you ask anyone but a White Sox fan about 1994, you'll hear about Cleveland and Montreal. I've done that more than a few times, and all I ever hear is how Cleveland was goint to win the Central. When I point out that at the time of the strike the Sox were 3 1/2 games up, I get one of two responses: "No, they weren't," or "They would have gone in the tank." I hate ignorant people. I always hear about that Montreal team. Everyone thinks that they woul dhave beat us in the series. That Montreal team was great but 94 was our year
  10. Greinke does not deserve to be on the losing end of this game
  11. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ May 5, 2005 -> 02:58 PM) Sisco is their version of Neal Botch Do you ever say anything positive? Just curious
  12. Anyone else love that Minny's bullpen has lost the last two games with Rincon out?
  13. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 4, 2005 -> 10:11 PM) Same guy who said the Athletics lost in the playoffs because they didn't bunt enough. I can stand Jon Miller, but Morgan -- yuck. IMHO, of course. I think Jon Miller is a great tv commentator. Joe Morgan should die of ghonnerea and rot in hell
  14. Twins Lose! Pherrelta drops it but picks it up and throws to second
  15. Update in Minny: Morneau singles, runners on 1 and 2. 1 out hunter coming up
  16. QUOTE(Capn12 @ May 4, 2005 -> 09:35 PM) And now we have to count on Bob Prickman to get the save in Minny (Props to s-n-r for that nickname) Yea we do, the games in Minny
  17. Update in Minny: Indians just take lead in top of ninth on Josh Bard solo shot off of J.C. Romero
  18. Anyone else feel that Ozzie is handling the bulppen today like he did in the 3rd game of the season. I just sense that it could be exactly like that.
  19. QUOTE(3E8 @ May 4, 2005 -> 10:22 AM) That was Chip, not Steve. It was actually both in unison
  20. Opening Day Sox win 1-0 Friday Mariner game where Garland was perfect through 6 Sox win Something - Something smaller
  21. QUOTE(SHAFTR @ May 4, 2005 -> 04:08 AM) Hello, I'm new. Anyways, Kruk has a .400 OBP that year, so he was far from terrible. With regards to the empty seats, I've always been disappointed by the White Sox attendance. Perhaps I'm just spoiled because I go to school in Madison, WI (great sports town) and Camp Randall and the Kohl Center are always sold out. I just think that a team in a market as large as Chicago that has the best record in baseball would be selling more tickets. I guess the entire AL Central is pretty sad with attendance. The best attendance goes to the team with the worst ballpark (minnesota). I graduate from UW-Madison in 2 weeks, after that I plan on coming down a couple weekends for some games. Hell yea, Go Badgers!!! Even our hockey games sell more tickets than we did last night! But of course, according to SI we are the #1 College Sports Town (take that Illinois)
  22. Top 3 of 4 are ALC teams WOW a little surprising
