Anderson + Borchard + Marte for Pierre Where do I sign?

QUOTE(WinninUgly @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 04:43 PM) Based off the latest movements, here is the current roster. It looks like the Sox are 95% set. Where do you see any changes? Obviously slot #25 goes to Anderson/Owens/Young or whoever is going to play OF, but besides that, where are the other moves going to be if any(Marte, El Duque, Harris, Perez)? Where is an upgraded needed or likely? Just your thoughts in general. SP 1. Buehrle 2. Contreras 3. Garcia 4. Garland 5. McCarthy RP 6. Hernandez 7. Cotts 8. Politte 9. Jenks 10. Hermanson 11. Vizcaino 12. Marte C 13. Pierzynski 14. Widger IF 15. Crede 16. Iguchi 17. Konerko 18. Thome 19. Uribe 20. Ozuna 21. Harris OF 22. Dye 23. Podsednik 24. Perez 25. * SP 1. Buehrle 2. Contreras 3. Garcia 4. Garland 5. McCarthy RP 6. Hernandez 7. Cotts 8. Politte 9. Jenks 10. Vizcaino 11. Marte I've been hearing that Hermanson won't be ready by the beginning of the year due to the back problems. I don't remember where I heard that, but I'm not sure, if anyone has any info on that it would be great. C 12. Pierzynski 13. Widger IF 14. Crede 15. Iguchi 16. Konerko 17. Thome 18. Uribe 19. Ozuna 20. Mueller/Backup IF (Primarily 3B) OF 22. Dye 23. Podsednik 24. Anderson 25. Backup OF who can play all 3 spots Thats what I see happening. Interested to see what you guys think.

Going to school in Wisconsin I got to watch the Brewers a lot on TV, and I every time I saw Brady Clark last year it reminded me of ARow in 2004. He plays all out and is a stud. I agree with your assessment of him, but I'm just not sure if Miliwaukee would want to give him up right now, they are most likely losing CLee next year too so they might want to hold onto them. But I'm sure if they hear a good offer they'd make the deal. I think Clark would fit well.

Champion's spoils: Sox sell out 2 sections
KWs OK for Me replied to greasywheels121's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I'm going to miss the old days of going to the nice empty ballpark, walking up buying bleacher tickets and sitting wherever you want. Sell outs left and right, while good for the team, will actually dissappoint me a little. Oh well, more money for team will hopefully turn them into a perennial contender. -
Am I the only one here who didn't really like Miller Park? I've been to a few games there and never had a good experience. I feel like the bleachers in left field are way to high off the field. Than with the rotating windows and retractable roof I just don't feel like I am at a baseball game. It had a bunch of cool ammenities I thought, but the atmosphere wasn't that of a baseball game. That was just my problem with it, although Miller Park and the Cell have it right in promoting tailgating before the games. Wrigley Field is dirty and old but not an awful place to see a game (been to probably 50 games there but never have sat in the bleachers so don't know what that is like). Tropicana is a piece of s*** stadium. Went there a few years back, never plan on doing that again. Camden Yards is still my favorite all time stadium. Just awesome set up right on the pier in Baltimore (right?) and great design for a stadium. I am a huge fan of the Cell and whenever any of my Cubs fan friends try to insult it it gets me going. There really isn't a bad seat in the place, and the renovations they have done since becoming the Cell has made it a great atmosphere. Plus they have the best food in the MLB. Pacbell is the one stadium above all else that I want to go to. Whenever I watch a Giants game on TV that place just looks awesome. I was at the SF v CWS game a few years back when Bonds hit that 460 foot shot, I'd just love to see that at Pacbell and see it just clear the stadium and drop in the drink. I've always that Kauffman looks nice, anyone have any experience with that?

QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 07:37 PM) No kidding, good old ESPN. I mean come on, they must be going by games 3 and 4 of the world series only. Do they even look at career or season stats? Marte and Viz were our two WORST relievers, not 2nd and 3rd best. ESPN is so bad. I mean yea ESPN has its bias but this actually seemed to me to be a pretty decent poll done by national media. It asks most of the questions that we ask here. I mean ESPN has plenty to be made fun and ripped on, but this is not one of the oppurtunities to really do it. Just my opinion

Sadly most of the baseball players I have met have been Cubs or former Cubs . . . my dad has thrown out the first pitch at Wrigley a few times (Die Hard Sox Fan) so I've met random Cubs. Ron Santo - Friendly enough but made fun of me years ago so forever on my s*** list Billy Williams - Nice guy, down to earth, talked baseball for like 2 innings during a game Steve Trout - Drunk self-absorbed bastard Sarge Matthews - Funny funny guy Other Sports: Ronde (or Tiki) Barber - Nice guy, quiet, not to good of a blackjack player John Elway - Denied being John Elway, one of the most easily recognizable sports figures of the 90s Non Sports: Chris Kattan - Might be the funniest guy I have ever met, played blackjack with him and everyone was calling him Mr. Peepers and just cracking jokes the whole time

Iguchi finishes 4th in AL ROY voting

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Nov 7, 2005 -> 04:38 PM) A 1.39 whip is not that terrible. Not great, but not downright terrible. You have to understand that a guy who throws that many innings is very valuable. Edit-In the last 25 years, the only guy to win the ROY that threw 200 innings was Dwight Gooden. Most guys who won, and there have only been a few-most of which are NL guys-threw 30-50 innings less than Chacin. Will Felix Hernandez still be ROY eligible next year? If so he's gotta be a lock for that. -
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Nov 6, 2005 -> 11:07 PM) He'd be a decent-to-good pickup, but then you'd have to juggle around the outfielders -- Matsui would probably have to move RF. He's also a worse offensive player than Konerko is, so it would probably have to be coupled with another move. If we lose Konerko I think that Matsui would be a great pickup. A strong left handed bat. Put him in RF possibly move Dye to 1B. However, this would only happen if PK and the Sox go their seperate ways

That's right get in your place Schaumburg. Is that the kid from Keenan and Kel? Anytime Nickolodeon is a pipeline for SNL you know that show is going to go down

They really aren't that funny, oh I miss old SNL

Driving back from Madison, WI at 4 in the morning tomorrow. Than driving back that night, f*** YEAH. When was the last time Chicago had a ticker tape parade? World War II? Sox Win the Series, Ticker Tape Parade, Halloween, Rioting!!!! Great week/weekend
-
At Wisconsin . . . The real riots are saved for this Saturday, tear gas and all. However, at the local dive that is the KK, there were a few dozen Sox fans in full regalia buying shots and getting s***ty and raucous. Memories are fun, I just wish that I didn't black out after the game!!! Damn you bubbly!

QUOTE(rangercal @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 09:06 AM) his favorite food (mentioned during the alcs) : EVERYTHING! and he likes Bob Marley? hmmmmmmm I'll go out and flat out say it, I always thought he was a stoner! This just reaffirms my view on that!

I don't know about you, but for me school comes second to seeing our beloved White Sox in the World Series. So to that extent a road trip to Houston is definately in order. Anyone know what Houston is like, bar scene, hotels, etc. Any good hotels by the stadium? When Astros tickets go on sale? How long/how the hell do you get down to the Lone Star State from the "Biggest Little City in the World" I hope that many of you join me on this quest down to Houston! (I'm assuming Houston, up 4-1 in 7th)

8 - 12 (7 game losing streak) 3 - 0 vs. the Cubs

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 12:57 PM) NOT camp Randall, it is a much superior stadium....I will give you a hint, it is shaped like a horseshoe.... Superior? I was going to say the only time since I've been at Wisconsin that they have stormed the field was when we beat the then un-defeated "Superior" Buck Eyes, but that was a night game and one I'm sure Ohio State fans try to forget
-
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 12:52 PM) Not to be utterly obvious, but not many teams would trade a player that gets to 100 hr's in his first three seasons. I believe A-rod and Pujols were the last two to do that. Tex is a perennial star player, and moving him just because there is a prospect "waiting" is just the way that a team turns into a joke. Rock what game at Camp Randall is that? Is it back from the Rose Bowl days in 2000?

What is the biggest need for the White Sox now?
KWs OK for Me replied to Dam8610's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I voted for more cowbell simply because when I was at the Friday Sox-Cubs game I saw Pauly and AJP doing the more cowbell skit from SNL when that BOC song came on. -
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ May 13, 2005 -> 02:27 PM) I don't ever remember Zambrano saying he was a White Sox fan. I personally could do without his nut grabbing routine. It would be funny if Freddy or whoever pitches against him does it after each strikeout. I love it when our players mock them. Just like Jose Valentin and Timo. It's great. I remember hearing that. He's a fellow Venezuelan of Ozzies, so when he grew up he grew up an Ozzie Guillen fan and thus grew up a White Sox fan. I remember hearing him say that. Too bad he'll never leave the NL, he likes hitting too much
