  1. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 10:48 PM) And what was his ERA against them? Shingo had a .696 OPS against last year against lefties which ranked 3rd on the team among regulars with only Damaso and SS ahead of him. And at this time last year, he had 1 less ER given up in about 1 less inning. Lets give him time.
  2. If its not too bad, but bad enough so where he can't go tomorrow, why wouldn't Garland just pitch on Sunday, while Burly pitches on Saturday. That way you don't have to move Freddy up and everybody would be back on normal rest with the off day on Tuesday.
  3. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 06:02 PM) The only reason I would agree with you here has to do with the carpet. Iggy is used to playing on the turf, and would probably be less of a defensive liability than he is right now on grass. I might have given him the day off vs. Cy Santana in a couple days, in favor of more of a contact hitter in Ozuna... I'm not really interested in criticizing every line-up and bullpen move at this point in the season. Ozzie is still learning what some of these guys can and can't do. I agree with everything u say, and I'm not one who jumps on ozzie for his moves like the bullpend yesterday. Even staying with crede tonight is fine by me. But to take out a hot hitter, and replace him with Willie, just doesn't make sense. And the turf doesn't even make a big difference to me because Iguchi showed that he can play the field this week. It's not a real big deal i suppose. Just kind of seems like he is blaming Iguchi for something by taking only him out while he is hot and leaving in the struggling players in a big series. Who knows.
  4. My point is why take Iguchi out when he has been better than anybody in the lineup the past two days, other than maybe AJ or Paul
  5. Well Ozzie better have a good idea. Iguchi is hitting .364 and has looked great the past two days, while rowand, everett, crede and Uribe are in there even though they have been sucking bigtime. Why the hell take Iguchi out for one of our worst hitters?
  6. It was a quality start. We'll take as many of those as we can get.

    2 Spot

Podsednik had three hard hit balls today, unfortunately only one fell for a hit, but he hit the ball much better today. On the screws several times. Iguchi also looked good today. He had that double, plus he had a walk and a stolen base. Getting on 50 percent of the time will get it done. Iguchi might not have looked great because the guys behind him (Carl and Paul) didn't bring him in when he got on base and in scoring position.
  8. Why did Pods wait so long. He got Iguchi in a hole. He pretty much had to swing at the close last pitch. Needs to go on that first pitch.
  9. QUOTE(ptatc @ Apr 3, 2005 -> 08:11 PM) This reports should ebread with some skepticism. He had two screws and a bone graft inserted into a bone. There should not be any scar tissue involved with this unless it involves the incision site. Another possibility is he has had plantar fascia problems with this foot in the past. It could have tightened up with the extended period of non-weight bearing. His progress should bear watching and may take longer than expected. The latter date of June 1 may be more realistic. Herm has talked about scar tissue all along. I have a tough time believing that he wouldn't know that it was there. He is with Frank pretty much every day.
  10. He's had a walk and two ducksnorts. Not exactly falling apart.
  11. Get McCarthy before Hermanson. We're gonna need an awesome bullpen. He needs to be out there.
  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 31, 2005 -> 01:51 PM) Freddy looks a little off Freddy said he gets rocked every spring. He dislikes ST mucho.
  13. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 02:49 PM) I think he filled in at Detroit and Atlanta in recent years. Not sure what he's doing now. I saw him doing a Braves game on Fox Sports Net the other day. I think he does Braves games when Fox does them, but that isn't all that often considering TBS and Turner South does most of them. IT was good to hear him again tho.
  14. Great job by our first three, Whoops, I mean 4, hitters. Great walk by Iguchi. Fouled off several tough pitches.
  15. Hawk and Ed Farmer in the booth. That should be interesting.
  16. The only real problem I have with any of that is that they don't pick the Twins or Sox for best rotation. It is absolutely laughable when they pick the Indians as the best staff, when they have 1 top of the rotation starter, one starter who had a really good year, but will likely fall, and 3 other guys that are going to get crushed. Other than that everything looks pretty spot on.
  17. Marte Strikes out the side. beautiful
  18. Damaso is throwing many more breaking balls. As such, he looks much better.
  19. QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Mar 29, 2005 -> 03:25 PM) How does Buehrle look today? Bout like you'd expect after a week and a half off in spring training. Their good hitters got hits when he left stuff over the plate. There were a couple of bloop hits in there. Most important of all of course is that he looks completely healthy.
  20. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Mar 29, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) Just noticed that we are playing at Hi Corbett Field. Pedro Cerrano hit some monster shots here. Still have visions of Willie "Mays" Hayes dancing out in front of the park. LOL, speaking of which, that was on comedy central last night. Great movie. Fitting to be playing in hi corbett today.
  21. Helton flyball falls inbetween Rowand and Uribe. I'm not so sure that shouldn't have been caught, but i don't blame them for not going full out. Don't need any willie/maggs type injury. man on 1st. 1 out.
  22. Pods gets out somehow. Don't know how, i missed it.
  23. Buerhle K's after a good ab. 2 outs.
  24. Uribes flies to fairly deep right center. Hitting the ball well. 1 out.
