QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:15 PM) Dude, I'm happy Dye got a double this game, but that was a flare off the end of the bat. He's still stranded 4 guys on base today. That was not a flare. It wasn't hit as hard as Hawk made it seem like it, but nonetheless, it was hit hard. -

GREAT sign tonight for JD. Tough pitcher out there and he's putting some tremendous cuts out there. I like it. We need you big fella... -
Whether Frank plays this season or not, we will be picking up a big bat mid-season. I have little doubt that Kenny is going to sit on his hands. And if Frank is out the whole season, then that leaves DH open and room for Kenny to go get that Delgado-type player he tried to get last season. With that said, I believe Frank will be back before the all-star break.

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 09:29 PM) Just keep thinking that we're 15-4 with easily the worst offensive team I've seen in a long time on the Southside. That's one of the factors that makes this team worse to watch. My mind almost expects a win, so watching our murderers row go 1-2-3 is annoying the hell out of me. -

Is this not one of the most frustrating teams to watch? I feel myself wanting to punch my fist through the wall...This is flat out killing me... -

QUOTE(GarlandFan20 @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) Garland and Zito? best.matchup.ever. I have a bad feeling about this, though. Garland going 4-0 on the season would be just too crazy. He's bound to fall back to earth sometime. So you think Luis Vizcaino is going to get the win? Cause we ain't losing this game... -
I will go out on a limb and say we will be a better team come August. Why? Kenny Williams. He isn't going to sit on his ass, that's for damn sure. We will have more talent on this team come August than we have now. Frank will be back to steady the offense and perhaps we add a Walker/Delgado like last year's deals. August will be tough, but I think by that time our team will be much better equipped to handle that schedule. Side note, hopefully the old farts in the Yanks rotation get injured by that point...

QUOTE(Wanne @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 07:32 PM) Kruk is an idiot! What makes this tub O' Goo a knowledgable source?!? Yes that is for damn sure. Oh and this kid, Ozuna, is 30. Star material written all over it! BBTN has really gone down the toilet.

Garland, Buehrle, Garcia...We've got a tremendous chance to keep this going. Our struggles in Oakland are nothing new to any Sox fan, so here's hoping we can change that theme. One other thing, hopefully this series helps Jermaine out a lot. Returning home into his comfort zone, I am hoping gets him out of this funk. Ozzie better play him all 3 games. We need you big man...

Hermy should of made an appearance...unless Ozzie has denoted him the closer, which he hasnt...Hermy should have been in. Broken bat basehit...Oh well, about time something bad happened to us. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 07:46 PM) With Long coming in for DeJesus, why not bring in Marte to face him? Doubtful KC would have ph for him. If we're going to use Marte as a lefty specialist, might as well use it in big situations. True, but Vizcaino is also very good against lefties...Either one a good choice. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 07:42 PM) Wouldn't mind seeing Hermanson in to start this inning. I wonder if Marte will come in for DeJesus? I gotta feeling Hermanson will be pitching the 9th. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 07:23 PM) If you have a one run lead going into the 7th inning, you should be able to go to your core relievers to try and win the game. Cotts looked good in the 6th inning, but he's still way too much of a risk with his control to be pitching late in the game. And with that, he walks a batter Keep the faith... -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 07:20 PM) Why is Cotts still in? KC has a lot of righties coming up to bat. I'm very confused now. He's throwing the ball very well... -

QUOTE(shagar69 @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 07:17 PM) wtf is wrong with PK? Yeah Pauly is struggling big time right now. Him and Dye in the middle there are killing the offense right now. Carl included. Everyone else seems to be hitting but them. Which I guess can be taken as a good sign as we have won 13 without our 3-4-5 hitters hitting...But man, they need to step it up fast. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 06:59 PM) Not getting any help at all from the umpires tonight. That was a very close call though. Cotts was slow getting over. Jose w/ a strain of the lower hamstring... -
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 08:21 PM) Gload's value shoots through the roof if he can play a decent LF/RF. Anyways, about that Cubs game that Gload botched a couple of flyballs -- I think I might have been at that game, and the wind was a real son-uvva-b**** that day. So, if that's what we're basing our judgement on Ross play OF from -- then, I'd say we should give him a shot to redeem himself. If he f***s up tonight, then OK, there goes that experiment. I remember that game very well as it was the first time in a long time I had been at Wrigley and the wind was not a big problem. Ross had a string of terrible defensive games during that time of the season. He is not a good defensive OF. More reason why Timo has started in RF/LF for Dye and Pods this season.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 07:32 PM) No offense, but I don't think Carl would catch a single ball in RF tonight w/this wind. Just the thought of him in the outfield makes me cover my eyes. Yeah, it would be ugly, but Gload out there would be uglier, in my opinion.
