has anyone ever gotten the hotel package? if so, how is it? I've only gone for sox fest never stayed in the hotel.

I agree with you about gload not being able to play the outfield...i would rather see everett out there before they put gload in the outfield. If thomas is going to miss time which it looks like he will, we should just have everett DH...and when they want to give him a day off have gload dh, or konerko, and put gload at 1st...if they want pods to sit, or dye or rowand, put everett in the outfield and have gload dh, and put willie or pods in center and have uribe play 2nd. and put valdez at short.
-
I think our bench will be, Gload, Perez, Valdez, Burke and Everett whenever Thomas comes back.
-
I hope we do sign A.J. I think Ozzie likes having 3 catchers on the team, so I think if we were to sign him that we would have Burke and Davis being backups, but have Davis be #2, and Burke be #3. What I like about Burke is that he hits to the opposite field. Most of his hits are up the middle or to right field, which is good because he is hitting the ball where it is pitched, rather than trying to pull the ball and grounding out to short, or popping it up.

I use to love maggs, but now i cannot stand him. He had his chance for a big contract, and its his fault that he didnt sign it when we had offered it to him.

The season can go one way or the other in my opinion. I really do not know what to expect from this team. But i do like how they had a plan this offseason and they stuck to it. We did need a change, and now we do have a more consistant offense. Remember you can always play smallball, and last year when Maggs and Frank were on the DL our offense started to slide, because we lost our homerun guys. We added some speed, and we have some guys that can move runners over, and we still have Konerko, Rowand depending on where they bat him, Dye, and Everette to hit guys in.
-
If we could add A.J. and Tadahito, that would be an awesome offseason. If we don't add Tadahito, that would leave Willie Harris to start, and I think he will do much better batting out of the 9hole, instead of leadoff. He already has a good glove, so we don't have to worry about that.
-
I really hope we can sign him, with the Red Sox falling out and the Yankees not in it, it looks good, i just wonder who else is in the running for him. I think he would be a very nice addition to the team.
-
I would like to see the signing, he would add a little more of the power type offense kind of like what Rowand is bringing...and we could have some good speed off the bench with willie
-
Thanks, I do remember that thing ESPN did about the guys in the clubhouse.
-
How is willie in the clubhouse?!?!? Does anyone know, I know that none of us are in there with them, but if you heard how he was. I want to give Willie another chance, but I most definately wouldn't mind picking up the Japenese guy.
-
Does anyone feel comfortable with Harris at 2nd as the regular starter? As of now it looks as if he will be the starter, and will probably be in the 9 hole...He has a decent glove...and if he's batting 9th he could be like another leadoff, with pods at the top..what great speed we would have back to back.

I would have to say the El Duque signing is my favorite. We finally have 5 starters that are veterans, and nobody that is shaky because they say El Duque is good to go. The 5th starter is one of the reasons why we lost the division, and now having Jon Garland as our 5th starter we have someone that could win 14 games at the end of the rotation. Also by having Shingo, Marte, and Hermanson being able to close instead of Billy Koch.
-
I don't know why, but I'm really excited to see what el duque is going to bring this year. I have a feeling it's going to be good, but i probably just have my hopes up.
-
I'm a fan of him, he's got some nasty stuff. I just hope Ozzie will limit him though, so he doesn't get tired or hurt.

I love the dave wills thing and how it led up to thunderstruck
-
Hello, welcome . i am pretty new here also
-
I agree about buehrle, he did get a lot of run support last year, and it happend more than 2 or 3 times. in some of those games, he pitched very well only give up 2 or less runs, but then again i know it is a different game when you go out to the mound up 8-0 or whatever the score may be. But i think buehrle has the stuff to win without run support like that.

baseballnick thats his name on here

Thanks, my brother showed me this site and i like the threads you guys have here, and the people on here have good opinions.
-
Does anyone know if they are going to keep the intro's before the game the same. I liked when they played "Thunderstruck" I hope they keep it...has anyone heard anything?
-
Garcia=16 Buehrle=19 El Duque=12 Contreras=15 Garland=13 We need to keep our eye on El Duque, and not overwork him...like everyone has been saying we need to limit him, and occasionally throwin in hermanson or cotts for a start to give him some extra time for rest.

I say its a "Good" offseason. I will change my mind to "Very Good" if we can sign Eckstein. Ozzie wants speed, defense, and pitching, and we added all of that this offseason in my mind. We haven't won with the makeup our team was the past 4 years, so why not try something new? I like the way Kenny has shaped our bullpen. I like Pods at the top of the order, and if we can sign Eckstein and have him bat 2nd. We finally have 5 starting pitchers going into the season which is nice. Hopefully they can stay healthy.
-
I didnt know too much about him, but if he's a flyball pitcher like you say, then he would definately not be a good fit with us. I was looking at the free agents that are left and I saw him and he was a lefty thought hey why not...but thanks for all the replies!!!
-
What does everyone think of Eric Milton??? He did make a lot last year, but about the same as what Clement was asking for, and he's a lefty we can add to the rotation.
