  1. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Sep 12, 2017 -> 09:28 AM) Infante has actually been really good the last two months. And him and Minaya have been used a lot.
  2. And this is the same batting stance he arrived with, right? Keep it Adam.
  3. True, although I don't think there are very good candidates to replace, even in charlotte.
  4. It's crazy how much the sox bullpen has stabilized. When they are bad it seemsl ike they are all bad together. BUt otherwise they are decent.
  5. This stretch of Jose's is just incredible. Doesn't seem like you can get him out.
  6. Cahill of course gave him all junk. He still has the stench from the padres that keeps interesting baseball moments away from you.
  7. Please Yoan whatever you do just don't hit into a DP
  8. Moncada gotta be the one who gets on base
  9. Yo if he actually gets a cycle it will be the closest amount of time between cycles since 1890. No one else had done it in the same year.
  10. All players will forever be exactly as thy are at this moment.
  11. Saw Yolmer to Yoan part 2. Missed part 1. Looked good.
  12. My favorite part of the playoffs is actually following the teams to win, and realizing you've never heard of most of the pitching starters or bullpen before.
  13. Tough news for AZ, David Johnson out months, going on IR.
  14. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 11, 2017 -> 01:08 PM) So maybe that is the analogy I wasn't following. I think of RB's as being late round guys, so when you said that, I thought you meant the same thing for Wideouts. I do agree you can find good wideouts in the late 1st / 2nd round. Obviously, you can hit past that, but most of the better wideouts in this league were higher round picks. I specifically wouldn't spend a top 10 first round pick on them. There are certain pedigrees that I dislike more (guys there just because of speed), and I think Cooper is the type of pedigree i may take a chance on, but overall I'd rather avoid that position or trade down.
  15. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Sep 11, 2017 -> 01:07 PM) Eh, FanGraphs has us projected to finish 64-98, which sounds reasonable. You'd have to add 20 wins to that to get us over .500. Even assuming Sale would have had the same season and assuming we wouldn't have tried to replace Avi, I can't get us 20 wins with him, Quintana, and another half season of our bullpen and Todd Frazier. It looks like we'd probably have another 75 win season, which is like the worst possible outcome for a team not sure where to go. I don't know. Depends on if you assume Eaton is injured. Basically 15 WAR between the big 3. So 5 for the rest. If Eaton is injured and you had released Garcia...then you have another 3 that I doubt is replaced correctly. Probably a negative WAR guy.
  16. And thankfully Puerto Rico avoided it, could have been very difficult for them to rebuild.
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 11, 2017 -> 12:36 PM) I disagree with this. While with elite QB's, you can create QB's, there is something special that elite wideouts have. That said, you don't necessarily correlate the best superbowl teams to those with the best pure wideouts. I.e., megatron was amazing, Lions always sucked though. Even Brandon Marshall...one of best receivers in his era, zero playoffs to show for it. I wanted Amari Cooper badly with that pick...unfortunately Raiders pounced on him before us. White was not an overdraft but clearly it didn't work out in our favor. One thing about wideouts though, I do feel that we see a lot of higher pick wideouts kind of bust / not be that good. Really good wideouts are great to have, but there are plenty of good receivers that drop to the early 2nd round. Obviously you want an AJ Green/Julio Jones draft, but I'd rather either trade down to back half of first and get a wideout if it's a need or take a harder position to find.
  18. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Sep 11, 2017 -> 12:46 PM) I figure if they were in go-for it mode, they likely dump Garcia and he doesn't end up breaking out with us. Yeah I think this is right. Fits with the 2014-16 theme of "in trying to improve, we ended up worse"
  19. It just seems to me defensively to be reps. So many throwing errors when he was set on a routine grounder, then double clutches. I just feel like that will become a natural throw. He seems so much more natural on a play where he is running full speed off balance and has to just let instincts get the ball out.
