  1. Guessing it's a leury replacement, as CHarlotte is in playoff hunt.
  2. Devan Fink @DevanFink Source: Justin Sellers has been traded to the #WhiteSox.
  3. Miss the days of last year when the cubs fans were proposing a g. stanton deal with castro as the prize.
  4. QUOTE (Sockin @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 02:52 PM) I like Cespedes but not as a rental. If you give them Avi, you have a hole in RF to fill next year in addition to catcher/3b/SS. We already have a hole in RF>
  5. Yeah, not sure I understood his contract either, what stipulation is that?
  6. The padres season has to become a book, an antithesis to moneyball.
  7. Is cespedes good at defense? Man, i'd love love love that power.
  8. Reminds me of 2003 where we finally put away the royals with a 4 game sweep in august. I think we may do same to Twins, but I still can't believe we can make playoffs.
  9. You say Hahn, but you mean KW i think.
  10. Can't imagine the haul Cinci would need to sell that to their fans.
  11. Not sure why Soto can't just take our DH ABs
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 01:00 PM) If it is so dependent on pitchers, how come, catching many of the same pitchers, Soto ranks 38th? I do think if they had lasers determining balls and strikes and made pitch framing moot, Flowers probably wouldn't be around. Flowers absolutely is a good framer and it does matter. One thing I like that he does, is he usually starts low, I think it helps get borderline low pitches, and gives the pitchers confidence that if they miss on a pitch that should be low, they can miss down and still get a strike.
  13. If it's exactly the same price, probably would take Gomez just for 2016.
  14. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 11:35 AM) Good news indeed even though Sox fans already knew. The Sox have a trade history with Oakland and Reddick's bat/glove would be a perfect fit for what the Sox are looking for. Come on Rick, make it happen! Reddick is my favorite name people have been reporting (aside from puig)
  15. Well, AA thinks he's out if they don't make playoffs. Doubtful you get another GM job, so you may as well go for it.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 10:11 AM) I love when people rip KW for trading prospects for veterans, even admitting the prospects for the most part weren't very good, but still insisting it has destroyed the franchise, get a thread going like this. Advocating more KW-type moves. If they were wrong before,(which I don't believe) they are wrong now. The prospects weren't good because our farm was terrible. I think people are more hesitant now because they think these players will be big leaguers.

Honestly, I think Hahn may like it. My sports psychoanalysis is Rick loves the tactics and details of putting together a plan, but doesn't want to be the one to create the grand strategy. - Rick, we need to rebuild our farm "I can do that" - Rick, our window is now, get us a RHP, #2 hitter and bullpen "I can do that" RIck, create a process and strategy for the organization and deal with the politics to stick to that plan... "Ghhshahahh"
  18. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 08:36 AM) If you read the threads more you'd also see there was a tweet (Nightengale) about the Brewers nixing it because of Wheeler. I mean whats more likely the Mets stopping it because of a guy who is playing or the Brewers stopping it because a guy had TJ surgery and just started throwing and won't play til June 2016 ? The team that is trying to make the playoffs, IMO
  19. I'll be there on Friday. Tix were expensive this weekend for sure.
  20. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 09:22 AM) I don't want to be a wet blanket, but this 7-0 run has come against two really, really awful teams. I want to see the Sox take a series from Tampa or NY before I get too excited. If the sox had beaten the crap out of all of the awful sub-500 teams we've played, I'm pretty sure we'd lead the wild card.
  21. Read a tweet that Mets axed it because of Gomez hip. Scares me away.
  22. Got back from Man U - PSG. Fun night.
  23. Also, I called an eaton homer in this series. I'm so smaet
  24. Really happy for Sanchez. Love the walks from Saladino.
  25. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 03:27 PM) Prior to the 2008 season. So 7 years ago. I would think that really doesn't qualify for what Caulfield stated he has. We know KW traded prospects. He traded s***ty prospects for guys that actually played pretty well, yet many complain. Freddy Garcia for a bunch of prospects. KW won. Gio was about the only guy that was regretful. Everyone else was either really medicore, or just plain sucked, and was definitely no better than what was acquired. Hudson was OK, but he got hurt. EJax was good with the Sox. He turned into Fraser, who turned into Webb and Jaye, so even there, he did fine. I bet AZ would trade you Hudson today for Webb and Jaye. Well, top prospects for sox were also meaningless. for 10 years our top prospect was whomever we drafted #1 they ear before until they failed.
