  1. Raise your hands if you remember a DJ williams play as a Chicago Bear.
  2. Excited to have some more depth at LB. Still hope that Sharpton plays.
  3. I never even remember these games. I'm sure they draw better than anything else on network but I'd be in favor of chopping them. I certainly hate when the bears have them.
  4. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Oct 17, 2014 -> 12:46 PM) Thomas Bryant at IU this weekend where Crean is trying to build a seemingly 18 man roster for next season.. I think he goes to Cuse at this point. Sucks because this was a guy missouri REALLY needed to build the team.
  5. Last night was fun seeing Jimmy destroy some scrubs, but man, this team seems really raw. I'm guessing Jimmy will play 2nd unit too, sitting probably for about 10 minutes for a rose-kirk-dunleavy/dermott - pau/taj - noah/pau lineup. I think maybe Jimmy posting up and Niko staying out wide will help, because he is just not strong enough at all yet. But right now, the brooks-hinrich-mcdermott-nik-taj is atrocious. We may be in for a disappointing "BURN IT ALL" November before the team finds their footing, and likely they'll grind out a bunch of wins with d. Hard to tell in preseason. But for one, Doug needs to get way more selfish on taking his open 3 pointers. He is there for spacing and theres no point to it if he's just gonna pump and drive like every other player on bulls.
  6. I will say though the Bulls look like they dgaf even Thibs isn't screaming
  7. This offense has really sucked all preseason. They need to be more selfish and stop pump faking nobody.

    Free Agents

    I can't believe Nick Markakis is 31.
  9. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 16, 2014 -> 04:02 PM) Surprised nobody talked about the new Nexus being released. Much steaper price then previous versions of Nexus. Yeah, you know I think they had a lot of cover to increase prices considering the price of other phones. They are no longer new, and I don't think there is a need for them to.
  10. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 16, 2014 -> 04:21 PM) I am glad that, when asked to sign a non-compete, our entire department said "lol no" and we never heard about it again. eta: that's actually a great example of how collective bargaining/action can even help skilled white-collar professionals! I think when it's not a new policy though, it is harder to say no after just getting a job offer to decline or ask to decline for most people. I had a terrible time with a non-compete for my first job, where for a while they were applying to basically any marketing/tech/company that uses computers. Eventually they decided it wasn't best use of money.
  11. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 16, 2014 -> 04:07 PM) Why on earth does Jimmy Johns have two-year non-compete clauses for hourly restaurant staff? Non-competes really need to be reigned in. Amen amen amen 100%

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 16, 2014 -> 02:05 PM) Season premiere was last night. Padma was both super hot and brutal in her judging at the same time. She ate one of the chefs creations and immediately spit it out into a napkin and walked away after blasting him for giving her a fatty piece of pork belly. I have no idea how he didnt get eliminated Two chefs eliminated right away Isn't pork belly supposed to be fat?
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 16, 2014 -> 03:35 PM) You might want to be worried about the lack of competent infection response procedures at a major local medical center more than anything else. This bug gives a flashing neon sign saying "hey this hospital is completely screwing up these several hugely important things". If they can screw this up, then they're absolutely set up to be a source of transmission for a variety of other diseases, including to patients who are visiting for other things. Not just this bug, but the kinds of things that cause post-surgery infections and so on. That's probably a statement that could go for many major medical centers around the country, FWIW. Perhaps this will cause a kick for hospitals to get their act together on their huge number of MRSA infections.
  14. That was frustrating, though that overtime was super sloppy defensively. Carcillo missed 2, but Kane also missed 1 that I was shocked he missed. He's been so automatic on those falling top shelf one timers.
  15. In all reality, the flu will still kill more people this year than ebola in the US. Car crashes will kill more still. The nurses and doctors trying to keep these patients healthy are taking risks and are heroes. They need to be very careful and put themselves at risk. You do not. It turns out the dallas hospital did not even start using hazmat suits until day 3 of Duncan's diagnosis.

I should, I used to have Bravo on all the time when top chef/runway/other reasonable shows were on but now that it is real housewives 24/7 I never remember it's a channel anymore.
  17. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 16, 2014 -> 02:07 PM) I think a lot of the airlines hedge their future fuel purchases anyway. They buy long-term contracts, not jet fuel at day-to-day prices. Well yes, it's not nearly that volatile but this large of a decrease will be noticeable in pricing as it's been happening for about 2 mos now and does not appear to be from incredible supply increase.
  18. 8th would really surprise me. I'm excited for Mizzou probably because football is unbearable right now. But this year will be tough, 3/4 the roster is either new or frosh/soph. Kim Anderson has basically had to teach defense the entire summer and said he's only got into offensive sets the last week.

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 15, 2014 -> 07:02 PM) Curious how much they'll charge. Would have be around $20 a month for it make sense. Yeah. I just really can't see myself cutting the cord until sports packages make more sense. I would spend about as much at bars as I would with cable. The real disruption will be when HGTV goes netflix, amirite?
  20. Y'alls best guess - If I had to book a flight for january, knowing that oil is falling. Would you wait or book now?
  21. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 15, 2014 -> 07:26 PM) Just a healthy correction. Buying opportunity. I really hope so, and with respect to Ebola hitting Boeing getting cut 4% perked my ears. BUT. I'm nervous. Germany/Brazil/China all slowing down, US retail having a declining month and the oil plummet I have to imagine is a sign of a global demand shortage. but I hope you are right. Here's to hoping for a fantastic holiday retail season. If my wife and I can keep our jobs through this, we were hoping to purchase a house in the spring. A real estate correction and the mortgage interest dropping to 4% doesn't hurt me terribly.
  22. Sadly, guessing this thread is going to be a lot more active soon.
