    Bold Prediction: Markakis is gonna be the saltalamacchia of this year. Where it makes a good amount of sense, but we feel he'll get overpriced, basically hear we are out of the running early, then he'll get signed for a contract that is pretty reasonable.
  4. What petty crap: You want to sit and cry and point fingers at the past, how about focus on the future and react and work to solve a problem. If people did more of that, we'd be far better off anyway.. I'd argue that the fact that Balta among others fights for this stuff daily so that when we hit the crisis we are prepared rather than just getting to a crisis and suddenly starting from zero is exactly what the type of behavior you are proposing. Instead many on this site very much subscribe to the "lol government spends money on volcano eruption monitoring" and then when a volcano hits "why were we not prepared? Fire everyone!". The CDC is working with Doctors without borders for help with containment procedure, and procedures will continue to evolve. There are currently 2 cases, and we will see where we are at in another 3 weeks.
  5. Every time I end up trying to get tickets for a big event I'm amazed at how stupid the ticket purchase websites are. Standing in line at a local nordstrom ticketmaster booth was time consuming and dumb, but it was at least fair. Not having the web site work for 98% of the people who visit at all is just stupid.

    I think the only thing I'm aching for if catcher is beyond us is upgrade to our OF defense. We cannot be running that weak crap everyday. I hope Viciedo pans out for someone, but we can't have a replaceable offense and bad defensive player just because he is young.
  7. QUOTE (SnB @ Oct 14, 2014 -> 08:57 PM) Vereen/Joique/Bush/Hillman/Sankey? Pick One to compliment Gio. (PPR) I have quite the stash of boom or bust RB2s. Tough to not pick Hillman after performance against Jets run d.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 14, 2014 -> 06:27 PM) A long, but interesting read on Rose. http://espn.go.com/espn/feature/story/_/id...-cycle-injuries
  9. Wellp, wasn't able to survive very well without AP anyway, now out victor cruz and jimmy graham, I'm toast. 4th most points in league and I'm in last.
  10. Number 1 on here, watch it: http://www.nba.com/video/channels/top_play...1013-top10.nba/
  11. QUOTE (gatnom @ Oct 13, 2014 -> 08:01 PM) Man, you must be an Illinois fan with accusations like that! I do remember seeing those pictures of Laquon Treadwell flashing a bunch of money and thinking he should be a little more careful with social media. I mean, when you (seemingly) randomly land the top recruiting class in the country coming off a 5-7 season or something like that, either something is up or everyone believes something is up.
  12. Speaking of yuck injuries, Cruz's torn patellar tendon was brutal to watch.
  13. I think they are definitely a playoff contender in that division. Their running game is finally there, and Hoyer is doing everything you need to win games. The defense was already pretty good the past 2 years. That said, they'll probably drop one of the next 3. edit: said conference instead of division.
  14. Actually this is kind of impressive he has a QB rating of -100 right now.
  15. Man I thought Maui Maui would be amazing. He can't hit any intermediate crossing routes and now can't hit the long ball. I don't recall a more inconsistent mizzou offense.
  16. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 10, 2014 -> 08:31 PM) you know what i found interesting, B&B read off the Pro Football Reference list of players most similar to Cutler, and George wasnt one of them. I see the comparison as well, which is why i found it interesting I thought their Jake Plummer comparison was better.
  17. It's an American issue.
  18. It's still annoying. It's one of those things where every writer feels the need to throw out there from here eternal as some sort of safeguard. "See guys, I know what's going on, I'll comment about how his delivery means we should downgrade him so if it does happen I'm smart but if it doesn't I'm still good too"
  19. Man the bears injury reports have been ridiculous this year. Wasn't McLellin supposedly gonna come back with the broken hand because he's a linebacker that will never intercept a ball anyway?
  20. It amazes me how much more effective Bradshaw is immediately upon entering the game. If he didn't have foot problems they are cautious with he's probably a top 5 rb. That said, hard to not start him and dwayne allen at this point, they seem to get so many td oppos on that offense.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 10, 2014 -> 03:38 PM) Jeff Nuich ‏@JeffNuich 1h1 hour ago OFFICIAL: @CSNChicago posted its HIGHEST-RATED #Blackhawks season opener gm rtg in network HISTORY last night - 5.4 avg...225K+ peak viewers I'm pretty surprised by that. Most people around me at work were shocked Hockey was starting.
  22. "Mr. Currie became increasingly belligerent and profane and the police officer attempted to restrain Mr. Currie with handcuffs to insure the police officer's and Mr. Currie's safety." Rinse. Repeat. Rinse. Repeat.
