  1. QUOTE (scs787 @ Apr 5, 2014 -> 06:30 AM) Magic number for the Bobcats pick is now at 1. Not sure if this has been talked about, but if given the oppertunity to package those picks to trade up, would you? How high would it have to be? Who would you be targeting? What about trading BOTH and then some for Melo or Love(If he becomes made available)? 3 1sts/Boozer/Taj/Snell or if need be Butler sounds fair right? I would imagine there is very little opportunity to trade up. This isn't the NFL, there is a lot of diminishing returns out of the top 10.
  2. 9-7 Sox. Starters leave at 5-3 Royals, Sox rally multiple times as bullpen continues to give up runs.
  3. I had no idea he was still in NFL.
  4. Kinda disheartening looking at the final four coaches and realizing you need to have a really good coach to get there. You can't have Frank Haith.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 4, 2014 -> 03:20 PM) [/b] This is what everyone asked for. Flipping out about it after 2 or 3 days is just silly, when most were asking for 2-3 years of this. Flipping out over anything in baseball after 2-3 days is silly. In 07 our bullpen looked like it would be lights out in early April and then was the worst pen I've ever had to watch ever in history of ever.
  6. We had practice 3-5pm, thursday walk through which was usually 1 hr practice, and friday game. Saturday was 1 hr practice with windsprints. About 11 hrs a week. And when I quit I didn't suddenly have to pay 40k to go to the school.
  7. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Apr 4, 2014 -> 02:14 PM) I think playing cold weather baseball was a cause of the offensive/error bursts this series. They still won 2 games and should have one the 3rd against a crappy Twin team. You could argue they could have lost Wednesdays game all day but they didn't. I want to see how they play against a contender. Not sure if KC is that test but we'll find out. I understand this is a rebuilding year but I'm pretty excited about this team. Just remember, they weren't going to go undefeated and they are going to lose some of those games. It's just baseball. GO WHITE SOX! Doesn't cold weather typically lower offensive output?
  8. HEre's my final hope. The sixers split 1/2 with the celts, and then win a game against the Heat 2nd string. Yes, the heat 2nd string is better than the Dleague sixers but they may get hot, and I'll win the bet on the last day.
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 10:43 PM) Favorite by the media maybe. I guess but Steve Stone was pretty unequivocal when he said Jones would be the starter, so I was surprised with Lindstrom.
  10. I want more football news.
  11. If the things that prevent us from being a good team are not the failures of the young talent we acquired, but underperforming veteran relievers or AAAA pitchers, then I will be able to watch this season happily.
  12. All Semien does is walk, home run and strike out. I'm sick of this Adam Dunn retread./green
  13. This game has mirrored my day.
  14. Avi, Nieto and Ramirez...hmmm
  15. Came back against a great closer to tie it up and you'd think the team just killed puppies on the field.
  16. walks. walks. walks.
  17. I never go to games in April unless I'm going for free and am begged. There are 8 football home games a year, 2 of those may be really cold. There are 6-7x that many in april.
  18. wow. that was an inning.
  19. It took 3 relievers but we finally have 1 out.
  20. Who care about attendance?
  21. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 09:20 PM) Ummm...California is pretty disasterous in its own right. Their issues have been in their legislature, Davis, Schwarzenegger, Brown, they'd all run circles around Illinois in that time.
  22. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 06:00 AM) Fun Noah stat from NBA.com player tracking: He averages more passes per game than everyone in the NBA other than Kemba Walker, Rajon Rondo, Chris Paul, John Wall, Kyle Lowry, Ricky Rubio, and Josh McRoberts (the official poor man's Joakim Noah) I love how Noah turned up his game just after Bernstein started that idiotic meme that he only was good against garbage centers.
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 05:31 PM) It would be strange having the Bank of Montreal's name on a Chicago ballpark. I guess, but they already have identity issues being that they are a Toronto bank. The MO is just a legacy at this point, but meaningless.
  24. QUOTE (maki @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 04:58 PM) Agreed, but no chance at that, given BMO is doing everything they can to re-brand BMO Harris as BMO only. My guess is the Harris portion of the name has a limited lifespan at this point, certainly under 5 years. BMO is logical, but are we just going to have an acronym? That'd suck. It's pronounced Bee-Mo so that's not bad as far as I'm concerned. Not like TCF field or something.
