  1. And the worst board meme will die, thank God.
  2. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Mar 6, 2014 -> 06:28 PM) That's a good question. Trying to keep other teams from knowing how much cap space we have? That seems like a bit of a stretch because I'm sure they could find out (e.g. ask the agent) if they really wanted to. I'm not entirely sure. Are they just waiting until the player officially signs? Maybe we've only had verbal agreements when the deals have been announced, so they don't want the #'s to get out until the contract has been signed. Yeah, it may just be that Ratliff is less big news than DaQwell jackson so we won't know full terms until then. Or that our contracts are just much more creative.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 6, 2014 -> 05:22 PM) Spring Training Everyone Is Awesome Article http://www.csnchicago.com/white-sox/danks-...first-time-2012 FIFY

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 6, 2014 -> 04:55 PM) No, but it's indicative of the general trend, just like the Occupy stuff. LOL what.
  5. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Mar 6, 2014 -> 05:00 AM) Curious about the money involved, but I'm sure it's reasonable. Happy with this move. We badly need DT depth, and Ratliff is a solid vet. Why has money been so slow to leak for Bears players

This stuff certainly never happened 10 years and 20 years before it! America is never taking a single sensationalist case and extrapolating it across a generation!
  7. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Mar 6, 2014 -> 03:42 AM) Noah with 2 triple doubles in 3 games. Dude has been playing flat out ridiculous ball 6/7 games with 100+ pts. What team is this?
  8. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 4, 2014 -> 10:21 PM) Maybe i'm wrong. I just see large state projects/grants given to Chicago-centric things - mass transit, health services, public housing, etc. Yes, there are those things downstate, but not nearly as big and not nearly as expensive to build/maintain/fund. As an example, here's an article (partisan statements included) about education spending: http://www.news-gazette.com/news/local/201...g-inequity.html Those large state projects and grants are going to the vast majority of the state's millions of people. Roads, mail delivery, hospitals, etc are very expensive to build and the more spread out the people are the less bang for the buck you get. By the time you travel from Lake Michigan to Joliet you will have passed over 3/4ths of the states population. The remaining geographical area's infrastructure is not 100% supported by the remaining 1/4th. Now if you specifically talk about cash flows to cook county and take away "Chicagoland" the rest of the state may be different. Though if the rest of the state split and I was Chicago I would tax the holy hell out of commuters.
  9. Sad to see he won't break record with bears. But it was too difficult to use a roster spot on someone who had no value outside return specialist.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 4, 2014 -> 04:35 PM) ESPN Stats & Info ‏@ESPNStatsInfo 4m The last three 55-point games in the NBA have come against the Bobcats (LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Deron Williams). That's fun: SF PF PG (though I'm not sure if Melo was really playing the 4 that game)
  11. QUOTE (Jake @ Mar 3, 2014 -> 08:24 PM) I'd want some indication that Derrick can shoot above 40% and play 60 games, but this could easily be right. I think a Rose-less Bulls with Carmelo is a title contender. This entirely depends on who else is on the Bulls in order to get Carmelo.
  12. Any word on his ankle sprain?
  13. QUOTE (raBBit @ Mar 3, 2014 -> 05:53 PM) I can't imagine there is a player opposing teams hate playing more than Noah. Aside from scorers driving you nuts, Noah is going to piss off opposing teams more than anyone. He's annoying in personality, style of play and outcome. That being said, couldn't be happier than to have him on the Bulls. Pretty Garnett is still the worst person to play against even crippled.
  14. I found this line funny: Their best player is entering unrestricted agency, and the team’s best hope for re-signing him is that perhaps he cares more about money than winning. The starting point guard very well may go to jail. http://grantland.com/the-triangle/the-new-...you-in-the-end/

I couldn't tell if TD washed its hands of the intrigue over Marty's daughter or kept that story line warm on the backburner. Seems like there wouldn't be enough time to cover that in the last hour.
  16. bmags replied to Kyyle23's topic in SLaM
I like the oscars and watch every year. While it is stuffier than the Golden Globes or Grammys, the fatal flaw of those two is that their award portions are so meaningless to the cultural impact of their industry, where I think the Oscars awards are often pretty legitimate.
  17. Sickels seems to grade more based off of experience and production rather than straight potential. His grades seem very "At the moment" not a guess on what kind of prospect they'll be at end of year.
  18. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 3, 2014 -> 03:20 PM) So Tampa Bay is apparently interested in moving their franchise to the Arena League... Man that is awful. With how much better jersey design has gotten in the last 5 years you'd think they'd be sitting pretty with one of the better designs in the league...and then that. Yuck.
  19. All the ass kissing in the world won't mean a thing if the people who are supposed to put together teams don't make it happen. Pat Riley put together the heat, John Paxson and Forman is going to need to make this happen.
  20. I dont see how you took that impression from his comments on Anderson. And holy crap that comment section is awful.
  21. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 2, 2014 -> 10:59 PM) Fredette has the White Mamba mantle now. Crowd loved it when he came in I'm hoping he can actually contribute not just be a garbage time player.
  22. Man it's such a gut punch to realize these things were 11 years ago
  23. QUOTE (Jake @ Feb 27, 2014 -> 03:17 PM) Joakim Noah since Jan 2: 13.6 pts, 13.2 boards, 1.8 blocks, 1 steal, 6 assists, .492 FG% The production at position for the dollar for Joakim is among the best deals in the NBA IMO Best part about last night was offensively he didn't have it, but crashed hard and started picking apart their zone.
  24. Noah with gorgeous passing. Golden state looks awful.
  25. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 26, 2014 -> 08:00 PM) Didn't really sound like he wanted to leave Chicago. It was either retirement or Chicago, unless someone threw an obscene number at him. I've read that Jets are really interested.
