i am drunk in 2009
Yes, trippel is actually what I'm thinking. There are most certainly bitter Belgium beers. Not Belgium style beers, but they make like 400 different beers over there. I must've tried about 25 in several days, not full pints, mind you. I had an 16.5% abv beer, it was nasty. Then I had a 14% abv that was truly fantastic. They say it's fermented three times, with the third happening in your brain. I would try Chimay if I ever strike it rich in science, like you, sir. I wish I had the names of all the beers I tried in Belgium. Perhaps my diction was off saying fermented three times as it was explained to me by a Belgian whose third language was english. though, I assumed beer language was universal. I meant to say the high ABV beers. Rogue put out a line, Dead Guy was at 8%, about what a trippel style beer is. Belgian whites are about the most divine thing you can imagine with their french fries. When they told me that for lunch they'd get two pints and french fries i was amazed at how skinny they were. Thick cuts too. I'm hungry.

I'm wishy washy on avery. i'm glad I tried it, wouldn't visit it, and likely wouldn't order it. I'm becoming really interested in the triple ferm. beers. I first had them in belgium, and they were very bitter. But rogue put out some triple beers that were delicious. At first I found them to be a novelty but now I think it adds to the beer.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 31, 2009 -> 12:53 AM) The American micro with the best, most diverse, and most consistently top-notch porters and stouts? It's Bell's, hands down. If you like their java Stout and still see it on the shelves anywhere, pick it up. They're not scheduled to brew it at all in 2009. I'm not going to argue because I love bell's diversity. What's that summer ale with the sun, omicron ale? Cherry stout is great as well. While in Colorado I really enjoyed the Breckenridge brewery. But for me, I really think New Belgium and Rogue are my tops right now. Dead Guy Ale is fantastic...unbelievable.

I like a few bullys, their porter, but I prefer Shlafly. They have some great stouts.

Sox @ Angels, 3:05 PM CT
Dye was a notoriously slow starter before the Sox, has been pretty good with us, though 05 was pretty typical from him. But yes, everyone b**** and complain about a spring training game! Jesus, I'd hate to live like you all.

The Economy, stupid
QUOTE (kapkomet @ Mar 30, 2009 -> 06:57 PM) I asked this when this first started... do you think the campaign contributions will stop? No. And 80%+ goes to Democrats. well obviously they have a huge majority and the president who the hell would give to the republicans?

New Roster Cuts
QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 30, 2009 -> 08:34 PM) Having Dewayne Wise lead off may be an ok move for a while, but it won't last. They'll either make a trade, or Getz will move his way into that spot. This^ I think Ozzie wants Getz to get comfortable before he moves him up. Wise will be an adequate staple for a month.

Big brother takes another step forward
Seriously, not worried. RIAA isn't prosecuting individuals anymore, they can try to go after waffles and stuff, good luck. Filesharing won. Am not sorry to see the majors collapse. Spending millions of dollars and ridiculous sums of money on awful videos, recouping on 1 out of every 10 album. They deserved to fail.

How many errors between Alexei and Josh combined for 2009?
I just remember, compared to Uribe, at least, Valentin would f up every shallow ball hit to LF. Lost a couple games to that.

This is awesome.
We shouldn't allow people in wheel chairs in congress. They can't walk.

This is awesome.
He took a leave of absence in January after about 5 years of very serious illness rumors, but we know about pancratic cancer. Considering those diagnoses, and how confident this woman was of her recovery, I think it was an extreme example of a reason someone in control of their mind doesn't have to step down. He hid his pancreatic cancer for 9 mo.

Big brother takes another step forward
While I have no doubt the recording industry and film industry have lobbied extensively for something like this, and while I'm sure the government has put in money to the feasibility of the program, i'd bet a wager of one billion dollars that this does not go through. yes, the government is to prosecute tens (if not hundreds) of millions of citizens, right. Besides, probably wouldn't hold, "unreasonable search and seizure", this applies. Much ado about nothin. Cool though. Nice video. Back to blaming Obama for being worse than bush though, continue session.

Opening Day Being Rained Out????
Well, it probably won't rain in the buffalo wild wings I'm going to watch it at. I promise I won't have the umpires extend the game into extra's my shining flashy bulbs in the pitchers and batters eyes.

wide open fields with nothing to block the wind?

that would suck, I'd totally be in jail. Ha, I just thought, wouldn't it be funny if the "I smoked marijuana" for politicians in 20 years is "I illegally downloaded music"

What is the main problem with Fields defensively?
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Mar 29, 2009 -> 07:29 PM) Fields will never hit .310 with an OBP even close to .370 like Ramirez. Sorry. I was waiting for someone to completely miss the point, it took two pages, but congratulations whitesoxbrian!

Marijuana Legislation
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 29, 2009 -> 07:55 PM) Pretty disappointed in Obama's McCain-like answer to the marijuana legalization question earlier this week. His dismissive answer to the #1 question being asked on whitehouse.gov shows that he isn't the progressive leader on this topic that I thought he'd be. And that he had to laugh off the people who asked this shows he is out of touch with many Americans. Hey knucklehead, it was the #1 asked question online...by thousands of Americans. Yeah, it's a shame it's such political suicide but the REALITY and HOPE of the situation for those advocating the legalization or, at most, decriminalization of it. This is likely something that will work bottom-up. Most college towns i've been to have decriminalized marijuana under certain levels. For Columbia, it's two grams. That's local. If enough municipalities or municipalities that are large enough continue to decriminalize it with no harm (in Columbia, it's been like this for 4 years, people still show up for work, are active citizens, etc) then you can see the states begin to do it without political harm. This will move to states. And frankly, that's probably how it should work. I think it would be odd to put out a federal decree to all states that they should legalize marijuana, though it was federally criminalized, I admit. But I imagine you'd get some states pissed off. And in a political perspective, this isn't something Obama should take on. With the perception being pushed that he's too liberal, you don't make a fight out of "make marijuana legal". States are our laboratories, and slowly we'll realize the continued financial implications of the criminalization of marijuana are not worth the ... moral perception it pushes on the drug.

What is the main problem with Fields defensively?
I have hope. Aramis ramirez was pretty brutal early on in his career and is now good enough that nobody cares to bring it up. Sometimes players have to develop defensively too.

This is awesome.
there is a difference between physical and mental capacity. The latter is certainly more important than the former.

West Regional
It was such a wonderful season. I couldn't do anything but just smile. We looked like a real team. It's funny how that suprises me at however level I root for. Disbelief in dominance.
