I'm furious right now.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 24, 2008 -> 05:20 PM) How's that pathetic exactly? That's pretty much to be expected. the media coverage about how he said "the next presid, vice president of the united states" was ridiculous. Yes everyone, Barack was really just a Biden strategy to win the presidency.
-
The whole bankruptcy bill really hurts Biden in my mind. But his occasional brilliant quips "noun, verb, 9/11" make up for his verbal gaffes and he is probably the best democrat in terms of foreign policy in the senate, and it's a senate seat that wouldn't be in danger. Richardson's supposed womanizing would have eliminated him.
-
meh, my mistake then. I can go pull up the go-to "why isn't Obama leading by more" "why does Obama have trouble with working class whites" Times articles.
-
naw it just kind of shows, to me, your mindset. Any article in times positive for McCain doesn't register for you, but if you see any article pro Obama it triggers your brain reaffirms your beliefs of bias in major media outlets. But I'd bet there is truth that to you the only unbiased media to you would be one that has no positive Obama coverage.
-
Ha, well anyone that made Obama-Edwards signs can have some hope again.
-
but times is biased for Obama remember?

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Aug 22, 2008 -> 04:18 PM) I dont think the Invesco Field one will be fancy. I think people will be the main setting for that stage.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 22, 2008 -> 02:58 AM) The african american vote is going to show up big time for Obama, but I doubt the young people vote does. The allure and popularity of Obama on places like college campuses is wearing off quite a bit, you can't keep a 20 year old's attention that long. Just my opinion though, it's going to be a close race either way unless something very strange happens. meh, i think you are wrong. Main reason is the amount of volunteers is way higher than for Kerry.

I'd pick someone uglier than me.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 21, 2008 -> 11:29 PM) I hope you realize Obama is the one who opened that door. He really didn't need to go on the offensive. yes he did he's been on answering for a month to McCain's claims it was about time he made people listen to McCain.
-
well how long can you call someone elitist when you yourself came from a prominent family, are rich as hell and wear $4000 shoes and have more houses than you can count? Just because you were dumb in the naval academy doesn't mean you are a good ole boy.
-
my friend works at a graveyard and says he's had to do this several times. He describes it in excruciating detail cause he can see me cringe.
-
Uh-Oh was great. He actually had a pretty good "going going gone" this year. BUt today's was pretty terrible.

QUOTE (Texsox @ Aug 20, 2008 -> 11:10 PM) I also would have prefered someone who would have better moral conservative credentials. Vito Foselli, David Vitter, Larry Craig or Mark Foley?
-
QUOTE (mr_genius @ Aug 21, 2008 -> 12:47 AM) wow, the TV Media isn't covering his talking points? No, I won't get into this argument again. He gets more coverage, less favorable coverage. CNN had a segment asking whether Obama was the anti-christ.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 21, 2008 -> 12:15 AM) Part of the problem though was that against Hillary, the campaign put together a strategy where they didn't need to go negative at all. They won it by winning Iowa, outworking Hillary for every delegate they could steal on Super Tuesday, and then putting her away with strong showings in the late Feb. states where she hadn't planned to compete at all. He never had to go negative against her that much to win, he just had to endure her barrage and not totally foul anything up before PA and NC hit. So far, they're using the same basic playbook here...outworking McCain while he tries to keep swinging a club. They haven't hit him all that hard yet except on the couple of local issues (Ralph Reed in GA, the DHL thing in Ohio). They may not want to go harder after him than that...up to this point in the Campaign, they've never had to. Obama seems more invisible now while they set up the ground offices. He is being massively outspent in TV ads by McCain and doesn't have the luxury of having his talking points spoken by the TV media. After the convention the advertisement saturation will begin.

I've never felt badly about our team vs. a knuckler - granted THIS team I haven't seen. I bet alexei gets some nice hits. Thome takes advantage of one and Griffey gets ANGRY and hits dingers if he plays.

Bill Clinton sunk his wife.

Looks like Kenny knew what he was doing once again.....

It's seems like in good seasons, it's stuff like this that has to happen. The mediocre prospects that come into the middle of the pennant race and succeed. In a 162 game season so much can go wrong, and so much can go right. Luckily for us it's been going right (quintin, alexei, danks, floyd, carrasco, uribe) after things had gone wrong. -
I feel like Hermanson and Thomas in 05 were pretty serious injuries even though we had people step up. edit: I thought this thread someone made a comment about how in 05 we had no serious injuries...but maybe not.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 19, 2008 -> 06:27 PM) But he throws a knuckleball. How many of our guys have faced someone like him beofre? I'd say there's about as good of a chance that our offense lays an egg against him as there is they light him up for 10+ runs. I feel like we've done well against knuckle ballers.

Make a wild or bold predicition for the 2008 Sox

QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 16, 2008 -> 06:32 PM) The world series will be renamed The U.S. Cellular Series in part of a huge block from google against microsoft. Thome will hit a ball into the lights, causing sparks and mass mayhem the sox have not seen since disco demolition night. it's coming, just wait. -
right thread?
