An Investigation of Allegations of Politicized Hiring by Monica Goodli
bmags replied to StrangeSox's topic in The Filibuster
f*, reading the ruling, they didn't throw out exec. privelege. Everything is going to have to be sued for. The white house will never get prosecuted again. A great day for our three branches. -
QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 05:47 PM) To you, because you are for Obama. That's been pretty clear throughout. I still need to get off my duff and create that thread, because I was very serious about wanting to understand the insight of an Obama backer. Seriously, and no judgements ... I already responded, and you didn't read it because of your selective reading. The truth is, all you care about is Obama too, just admit it.
-
I guarantee that's the off shore drilling because when people are asked: do you think Obama is arrogant? Yes 36% No 64% Do you think McCain is arrogant? Yes 35% No 65% Despite this, they are both clearly arrogant. As has been stated, it takes a big of arrogance to think you can be the leader of the free world. And I'd like to think an exhibit of arrogance would be how excited are people to work with you. I don't like working with arrogant people, but it sure seems a lot of his staff are very excited to work for him, while McCain's have complained of his ability to stay on their message. Kapkomet reads this as "McCain SUCKS"

meh, when you play in the cell why would you build the twins
-
I hate to beat that stupid drum that adds nothing, but the fact that we are hearing about this before hand leads me to believe it's a smokescreen or just over reporting.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 05:33 PM) To me the arrogance of this is astounding. The world has been waiting for BARACK OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No one else, just him and what HE represents. HE is a symbol of America. HE is the one who will bring us together. HE is the one... blah blah blah... And he's not even been elected yet. THAT is why the McCain ads are gaining traction has having some truth to them, and why the Obamatrons are so incensed by it and screaming "HE'S GETTING DESPARATE !!!###!!!" crap, because it cuts and it brings up the point that this man has very little international experience, yet he gets figurative rose pedals thrown at him wherever he goes. Of course, I'm wasting my time, because I'll just get 85 links about how McCain sucks and Obama has a "good" reason for everything. except they aren't gaining traction.

QUOTE (bschmaranz @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 04:58 PM) Anyone watching the deadline special on ESPNNews? Steve Phillips just said that the Sox added another lefty to a dominant left-handed lineup. Uh... what? And Kirkjian just called Nick "Massay". I didn't know masset was french.
-
john's tend to work out well for us.

QUOTE (bschmaranz @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 05:34 PM) Let's hope Ozzie doesn't put Ken on brain tonic. "There's a party in my mouth, and everyone's invited!" I'm dying, this is hilarious.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 05:08 PM) I'm a fan of the White Sox. I want them to acquire good players. Griffey is no better than what was already here IMO. Its 2008 not 1996. I really am not a big Konerko fan, I just have been astounded by all the crap he gets from people who claim to be White Sox fans. If only we had the insight of Reds fans.
-
alright, I have a test at 230, I must go study. Text me soxtalk if something else big happens (e.g. we land biggio)
-
QUOTE (JFields27 @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 05:03 PM) pretty much bad news all around for the twins ... I just dont know why they wont give up any of those players for Beltre, if would help us I'll be very happy if 3 rolls around and beltre is in seattle. (or not minny)
-
This is why I love KW... if nothing other than we never know what is going to happen. It's at least exciting.
-
how about this.... we improve our team edit.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 04:59 PM) Konerko is 6 years younger and doesn't have the injury history. He's also in a little better condition. so yes then? The reds fans are right but sox fans are wrong on this? Griffey also doesn't have an arthritic hip and crippled confidence.
-
any chance we can get the big hurt?
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 04:54 PM) Maybe KW should see if Rollie Fingers and Tom Seaver feel like pitching. They were pretty good once. What's funny is about the same percentage of Reds fans feel the exact same way about Griffey as the majority of the board feels about Konerko. and so the sox fans are incorrect about konerko but then the reds fans are correct about Griffey?
-
QUOTE (JFields27 @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 04:49 PM) or or ... the things the Kid will learn from CQ!!! haha but yeah im pretty excited with this move, I have always wanted him on the sox, maybe a bit later then wanted but w/e hes here touche.

Huge News, somewhat similar scandal http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/...contempt_of.php After months of making the HJC obsolete, they finally get some teeth. -
double post: Oh man, CQ-Griffey-Dye I believe this IS my outfield in MLB 2008
-
The things CQ will learn from the Kid!!!

I can't stop laughing. This is awesome. I've never been so happy at deadline.
-
QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 04:37 PM) One could argue, on another team Massett and Richar could be insignifcant minor leaguers on other teams. haha, true. Listen, everyone. This team needed one of the two great players from the 90's like we had in 05 in the dugout. half green.
-
LOL, okay, logically this wasn't a very good deal for us... but as a baseball fan, I'm smiling and laughing and I think this is awesome.
