Schefter confirmed. I think some media was way too in love with what they could hear from their team sources on what they thought would happen when when you stepped back the situation was far too untenable for Pace to stay and this was a very, very likely scenario and what they were hearing was very, very unlikely.

The problem is he got his front office fired to take over so you wouldn’t know what kind of situation you are getting even if he was just HC.

I love Zach and think a lot of stuff was unfounded, especially some of the defense when he had to carry the entire offense and that he was surrounded with absolute morons basketball wise. That said, when DDR is out this team looks normal. Zach is super efficient but at same time he’s sort of in game streaky, he doesn’t press if it’s not there. That’s great. But the bulls as long as they have had DDR have looked great. There is something to the superstar “eff you O can play my game no matter what” that I think is just a bit outside of.

Fun how Vooch is settling into this role. Still missing some frustrating close shots but feels like his line has been like 18 pts 14 rebounds 5 assists and other stats stuffing. Just a magical run right now. Feels a lot like 2011.

Was fun. Crazy how high scoring these Wizards games have been.- FS: 2021-2022 International Preview
Paddy's work is by far the most complicated for me. I find it both incredibly productive and needlessly limited. The man brings in some of the biggest stars in the game in tatis, robert and abreu, has found some nice prospects when he had no money periods in Jose Rodriguez... and routinely punts on so much money. Not sure if it's him, but crazy that he doesn't want a more aggressive backing.- 2021 NFL Season Thread
Reports are Jags are going to meet with Bill O'Brien and boy Trent Baalke and BOB is just a match made in heaven- 2021-22 NBA Thread
I feel like DJJ gives us that kinda player already. On a side note, just unbelievably cool gesture of Demar DeRozan to go down to Champaign for Ayos jersey retirement ceremony.- FS: 2021-2022 International Preview
Ah, I didn't read the beginning but I thought since there was such a delay they had done talent rankings. Makes sense.- FS: 2021-2022 International Preview
eh, not a big deal. Paddy gave a kid a big bonus, I expect a lot out of him.- 2021-22 NBA Thread
I wish they would have signed Biyombo, he was great with suns and just got a full year. I don’t know about bringing cousins vibes in- FS: 2021-2022 International Preview
Badlers top 50 dropped. Colas at 5, Hernandez at 42. Nice we are getting some left handed bats in the system between Montgomery, Kath, Colas, and Hernandez.- 2021-22 NBA Thread
Yes, more just happy it’s fully healed. I figured it would be this nagging, all year thing.- 2021-22 NBA Thread
Awesome news here:- 2022 Book thread
That book was great, really takes off when carreyrou goes into when he got sucked into the story as a reporter, as well. Thought it's a bit bewildering reading that book with all the stuff happening in like 2006 and thinking "oh this goes on 9 more years thou"- 2021 NFL Season Thread
this is an interesting read at least: https://www.theringer.com/nfl/2022/1/6/22869889/nfl-coaching-carousel-avoid-mistakes Basketball and Baseball have really proven interesting models for shaping the org and football has not. Cleveland tried to do this, and maybe given time it could have worked out. But I think the calls for a "football guy" isn't necessarily getting bill cowher to lead the org, but to put guys who have been a part of big orgs and running them up top. I like reading Darrel Morey because it's clear reading him that he's just obsessed with finding the answers to hard questions and not that there's any one way to do things. And maybe that's the problem with guys you poach from winning orgs, and was likely nagy's downfall - he thought he knew the way to do things. Belicheck isn't married to anything. He'll change schemes on a whim if it hurts his opponent. He'll become a power run team on a dime and rush it 50 times. Patricia thought he knew how to do things. It's not easy to find that group of people who try to create a process to facilitate problem solving, not a process that they think does solve problems. But hopefully bears find one.- 2021 NFL Season Thread
I've said these a lot but I think the anti-nagy case are the case studies of Patterson and (Mike) Davis. And honestly the run of TEs, but, They were brought to Nagy to run basically the same thing they did in their immediate next stops, and were way, way more successful. Hell, Perriman is even an example. This is where you end up scrambling if you are an evaluator, as you are being told to bring in specific pieces that aren't working, and then they go elsewhere and immediately start working again. - 2021-22 NBA Thread
