I like this. This guy struck out a ton this year, but he was pretty good offensively and love when we have some winning programs in our system (a la zach remillard who was a coastal carolina guy who has always seemed like he's been on our best minor league teams and kept improving every year)

Really excited for Smelley. When Sox selected Gunnar Troutwine he seemed like a big character that would fade away but he’s been pretty damn great offensively this year. Sox have found some interesting catchers.

Not surprised though, pitching is really weak in A levels now, not even prospect wise. Every 6-9th inning Kannys pen gives up 5-10 runs

Yeah Ok I do think second half has more advantages. Engel, Sheets and Burger all have a power element that first half replacements Hamilton, Mercedes and mendick didn’t offer as much. add in positive regression from Moncada and Abreu and getting back Eloy and that should be better even with losing grandal. And maybe Collins starts getting after it too.

I’d love to add a swing guy and move to six man rotation before the playoffs. Not sure our bullpen can handle it

Last year we were third in homers, this year we are terrible. Losing eloy and Robert hurt, losing Grandal hurts worse. We may see more second half from Abreu, TA and Moncada but this will not likely be a power team. Home runs are good though as Sunday showed

Burke is a much more interesting pick than you are selling him as. Definitely has the build and motion to be a starter and has a great fastball.

Of course You don’t think saying the Sox wouldn’t pick up his option is a hot take. What a waste of our sweet boards server space.
