Todd Steverson was instrumental in that and I believe is out of the org. Regardless last 5 years there isn't a single prospect we have now interesting in their plate approach or discipline. Org wide it's awful.

Rushing prospects is a fake problem. They didn't rush prospects during Hahn either, and this board always wants to promote prospects after one good month. We have not, however, shown any ability to create an organizational approach at the plate. And Colson went from coming in, being patient, finding walks, to now watching strikes and not hitting enough for contact. Chris Getz believes they will figure this out on their own by playing baseball games. Do the orioles believe that?

Jairo had himself a fucking game damn. Im not gonna lie, I’m getting concerned about the stalling of Colsons hit tool. Would like to see some progress by end of June. As we know, it’s all up to him to fix it. Maybe a good YouTube channel exists.

Wolkow has found his power and hits but his k rate has gotten worse so far. Hope he can cut into below 30 % on the next 45 or so PAs

Schriffen says he was aiming at “Sportscasters”

It would have identified a Tim Anderson, right? I’m assuming if available his bat speed would have been strong, but his exit velocity was often poor

Kind of annoys me that Montgomery is now only listed as 6’3”

It's wild. Definitely settled down since last week, however.

I agree. Rays I could see wanting him, and I could also see please don't trade with the Rays.

Some of the board has decided anyone they acquire is a real prospect while anyone they give up is not a prospect and not worth crying about.

Robbie Grossman traded to TEX for RHP Anthony Hoopii-Tuionetoa

Yeah if you ran a simulation of the start of the season and ran it 100 times I think it only happens 8-10 times. The gap isn't that large in talent, especially in how they were losing. -
I think these kickoff rules are definitely like making an nfl play just for velus jones. Takes away the worry about muffing, lets him just get the ball with space...not a player we have to worry about injury. But definitely want someone with a bigger build / tackle breaking capabilities rather than pure speed/pursuit angles like tyler scott. Would imagine second in line would be running backs. Herbert seems like best next.

There has been a good many detailed breakdowns of the bears during the trubisky / fields failures… but I paid to read the Go Long feature (a substack by Bob McGinn) and it is by far the most detail rich and understandable. Adds a ton of real info to understand some of the euphemism behind the scenes talk Jahns has to do to keep the org happy. Highly recommend. Cost me $8 sub.

I think it’s interesting how him and Jonathan Schoop were such similar players that came up around same time and both fell off a cliff offensively around same time.

Mogollon homer! Grant Taylor shoving as he should
-
The highs with crochet have been much higher than I expected. Hell before the season I’d have said his longest game would be five innings.

Looks like Mogollon had a ball in play last night ?

It's really nice to not be in historically bad mode. I've even watched games - big improvement. Korey Lee, Benintendi, Pham, Ramos all have been providing enough offense. That said - our run differential hasn't budged that much. Maybe when Robert returns, if vaughn gets talent injections, we can end up in a place where we aren't skin of the teeth. But having stretches of .500 ball isn't really abnormal for bad teams during the course of a season. They just need to prevent another horrific stretch like they had in April.
-
Ramos was one of the few prospects we've had where outside publications raved about their makeup. That he has handled this well despite starting so ice cold in AA would make me believe it was true. He seems to actually want to succeed at baseball, makes him look like derek jeter in this org.

Well pretty good pitching from nastrini and Eder.
-
Really hope Burke can get something going, real bummer of a start so far. Poor mogollon, has not had a result that hasn't ended up in a catchers mit so far. 9 PAs, 8 Ks, 1 BB.

I think the terrible problem for the sox is we could increase spending, but if they handed out three, four-year $70 million deals and that would be like getting a few bullpen pitchers and a 4th starter. -

I think the good news for Robert is the control allows us to play the market. Last offseason I mentioned seemed like the perfect time to move Robert, and a bad time to move Cease. I'm not sure we'll know until this offseason if it's a particularly good/bad time to move robert, but obviously he's talented enough that you'd never expect a tepid market, just about how many plan b's other gms can squint and still see as acceptable. -
Eh, I assumed this guy would rake until AA. He was a high performing college hitter. That he was soooo bad against udfa pitchers and high schoolers was a real red flag. Glad he has a chance at being a major leaguer but still not that interested until he can generate more consistent power. ESP at W-S
